Who is the most famous person you've ever met? What were the circumstances?

I forgot to add this to my post, my old neighbor and friend of forty years, Doug Howes, told me that his brother George & his wife Sherry met our own Liz Smith! Since George raises & shows doxies I’m assuming they met through a mutual love of dogs somehow.

Who is the most famous person you've ever met? What were the circumstances?

I met the members of ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) at a party in Tampa after their concert. My neighbor was in charge of the concert hall & had invited me. They were typical crazy rockers of the time. My dad was a Maryland State Trooper in 1961 and stopped a speeding car on Route 1 to issue a ticket. Turns out it was John F. Kennedy & his brother Bobby in the car. He still gave them a ticket that I’m sure was eventually invalidated! My mother was born here & raised in Germany. While living in Munich in 1941 or 42, her mother sent the six kids outside to play with the neighbors children. Their neighbor was the Minister of Bavaria, that day Hitler pulled up & they met him. Little did he know that by day they belonged to the party and at night they helped the Jews escape in the underground railroad!

Are you more comfortable with your body now than you were 20 years ago?

I’m more comfortable with my body, it’s just a little more uncomfortable to me! I woke up this morning with a “ultra strength pain relieving” patch on each knee & plan to put another one on after my morning coffee & daily read of WOWoWOW. My knees are better than the local weather man, I know we’ll get rain this afternoonl Down but not out, going to see Bruce Springstreen tonight in Hershey, gotta keep moving or stiffen up!

Study: Risk of Breast Cancer Relapse Low After Five Years

My mother had breast cancer in 1976 and again in 1998. She always did self exams and went to the doctor for yearly checkups. The second cancer was very aggressive, Stage 4 with a 20% chance of living 5 years. We just celebrated her 10 year anniversary this past May.

What, or whom, do you take for granted?

I have to agree with S.G. I don’t take anything for granted except death and taxes! Family, friends and our general well being are blessings we should enjoy and be very thankful for. You never know what could happen and your life can change in an instant. Sometimes we forget how lucky we are in the moment and in the next moment your life can be changed forever.

What the Hell Happened to Lara Flynn Boyle?

Maybe she’s on prednisone or some other medication.

What are the three dumbest things you spend money on?

Cigarettes, gotta quit! Estee Lauder products when they have the free gifts, I have way too much! Casino, but it’s so much fun!

Which presidential ticket would you prefer?

As a lifelong Republican who did not vote for George W. Bush either time, I just switched to the Democratic Party so I can vote in the PA primary. Yes, I would like to see a woman president, however, my vote will be for what I think is best for our country which is Obama.

Let's Balance This Obama Thing Out

I also found an interesting piece on this matter on “The Huffington Post” titled “Obama’s Minister Committed “Treason” But When My Father Said The Same Thing He Was A Repyblican Hero” written by Frank Schaeffer. This article is also very thought provoking and well worth the read. I would love to know your thoughts on this Whoopi.
