He judged her by her appearance. And it was true. She had an appearance. Once her appearance had been nubile, full of the promise of good genes and good motherhood potential. And then one day her luck ran out and she accepted the idea that the only thing about her of any importance was her appearance. When she disappeared completely, he was unquestionably lonely without her. But since appearance was the only thing about her that had any importance, she was easy to replace.

I wish I knew more about cars. McCain would definitely be an old sedan, something that was at its sexiest in the 1960s, that someone did a not-very-good job at turning into a convertible. In the 1970s, thinking she could only be president vicariously, Hillary hitched her wagon to Bill’s star. Obama spent 20 years in the congregation of an eloquent, popular preacher who occasionally likes to indulge in hateful rants about how white America is responsible for AIDS, the 9/11 attacks, global warming, and probably the crucifixion of Jesus — learning oratory, I hope, rather than his mentor’s questionable value system. I’d say both Clinton and Obama are luxury cars disguising themselves as all-American family minivans.
