Congratulations to the winners, (but I must say that I agree totally with the comment by Eldebbo C.)
Dining room table? Fur coat? A new house? What was your first 'adult' purchase?
My first major purchase was a motorcycle, a Villiers Wolf. I was too young to drive it so I kept in my bedroom, at the foot of my bed until I was old enough to get a driver’s permit. My mother complained that my room smelled like a gas station. When she would go out each Wednesday to her “ladies card-club night”, I would start it up just so I could hear the motor run. No matter how hard I tried to ventilate the room, she always knew what I was up to, so on Thursdays she was usually not in a great mood.
This only lasted for about two and a half years ‘till I turned sixteen. Otherwise, she was a first class mom.

Lena B - A fascinating story, and you relate it so beautifully and generously. I really did not expect such a captivating reply. I’m so glad it has turned out so well and I compliment you on how you handled it. That is not an easy situation. It is even difficult to imagine such a terribly serious thing happening to a person. Thank you for responding to my general curiosity so openly. I feel very privileged that you would have shared this very personal story with me. Thank you. LR.

Lena B - I must admit to unexpected astonishment reading about your "(real) adult purchase". I am no expert but I have some knowledge of firearms and could not help but wonder what need you would have for a Glock 17 automatic. This handgun has all the characteristics of a combat pistol and is used service-wide in much of Europe. As far a I know, I don’t think it is considered a sports pistol, if indeed that is why you purchased it. Just curious. Not an ordinary every-day type of purchase you would expect being made by a young lady of 24.

Oh Belinda - you always inject such magic in the stories you recount. I can’t wait to read these books you’ve authored. LR
The milkman cometh back! Do you remember a time when he delivered your milk?
Such a wonderful collection of treasured vignettes. Beautiful little tales from the greatest of our times, known as, “precious youth”. How enriching to read the similarity of situations which we apparently have all experienced. The pictures that each of you paint, reflect so many scenes I can recall and fondly remember. It has been a lovely little trip down memory lane. It’s amazing, what a friendly and relaxing atmosphere such delightful personal stories such as these, can create.

Appearing in such apparel, is indicative of her respectful acknowledgement of formal protocol as well as her cultural awareness and recognition of customs recognized by the diplomats she must deal with, in their own lands. Her appearance in such apparel, though tacit in nature, nevertheless clearly indicates emphatically the degree of reciprocal respect that her nation expects from those with whom she intends to conduct diplomatic negotiations. They cannot do other than honorably accept this formal display of esteem she is prepared to generously bestow upon them.
From a fashion point of view, she appears very attractive and most presentable and the color combination suits her admirably. No doubt her appearance would cause a high degree of memorability and appreciation by her fellow committee members.
