What is it with men and their totally insatiable pe****’s? I mean really.

Mostly: Financial worries. How I’m going to pay for college? Have I saved enough for retirement? And then: Will I die alone? Will I ever love or be loved again?

I love it: well viewed vs. well read! Nice! TV has become the global hearth. I love all media — television, newspapers, computer… I do multi task when I watch tv — like sit on the floor on my yoga mat and do some stretches…or knit…

I’m so happy to hear from Mary Wells. I’m 56 and had a career in advertising as a copywriter…and Mary, you were always a role model for me. However, I began my writing career in aviation journalism, and flew to Dallas on a press junket for an unveiling of a Braniff plane, and you, and Harding and Alexander Calder were there… So I’m thrilled to see what you’re thinking about these days.

This article has no comments…because it is about an entitled group of women (you) who had access to Halston’s world and can gossip together. What is there possibly that we can comment on. We are on the outside looking in.

After I wrote the above…I kept thinking about the article. And the thought that we never rest from thinking about sex…and wondering about our next love….OUR WHOLE LIFE LONG! It is positively exhausting. I rather like the “crone” theory of older women — turning our attention to other things…other than, men, sex, men, sex… I have decided to devote the rest of my life to creative living — to my writing of course. But creativity in everything I do: cooking, reading, gardening, yoga, traveling. Just being creative. And if a man should happen in there…well, I’ll do that creatively too. But I’m tired of the emphasis on the “search” for a man. Can we have a rest from all this desire?!!!?

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to this…as I’m recently, happily divorced at age 56. When you’re no longer 20 cute, what people really respond to is your soul and your energy. Actually, the nose determines attraction. You don’t even have to go looking. The nose knows. So here’s what I say: get dressed, look your best, and go out there smiling. Happy Birthday Liz!

I LOVE the “Fear is not an option” quote! That will be my battlecry as I get older. Fear is a waste of time and doesn’t get you anywhere. I just put my fear to the side, acknowledge it maybe, and continue forging ahead with grace and energy. Diane — could you design with some larger sizes please? Your clothes seem cut very small. I am a real size 14 and can’t fit an armhole into your clothes!!! Chicness is the ONLY option!!!
