I had a husband who did not know that his pant’ s zipper could be closed. Age, beauty, education, all that did not matter to him as long as someone was willing. I took it for 17 years . When I woke up to the fact that one does not have to live with this pain ,I found me a man who knew that life is about choices. He just does not do anything to hurt someone. He never did. Even now that he has Alzheimer he shows this side to us all. He told me to get out of the bed, he said “I never have strange women in my bed, go home now , now, now” I did not know if I should laugh or cry, my kids simply said:”Mom , he is still a gentleman even with his memory leaving him “.

This is not her, or is it?

I was born in Belgium, land of French (?)fries and good food. I NEED french fries like a smoker needs a cigarette. Last ten years I have stayed the same weight , overweight? yup. But still the same. So I do not care to do another diet. I can’t drink alcohol it makes my psoriasis worse, so what is there left but the fries. My best friend, is a vegetarian, does not even take an aspirin , she is so pure, then she goes to have a face lift. Plus Botox when she sees a wrinkle, to each his own. At 76 i am happy to be still walking and being able to think.

I would like to be like my grandmother. For her time, she was a rock. She followed her husband in different countries, had to leave her adoring mother. She gave birth to my mother in Italy in 1910, lost twins on a train ride to Italy in 1908 , lived in Bulgaria for 4 years, became quite ill with cancer in Ireland in 1936 . She was strong, learned languages as she moved and yet she was a weaver with little education. She sent her girls to a great boarding school so they could have a decent education, yet she cried for them every day. My mother ended up a CPA and spoke 6 languages. She is still an inspiration to me. A hard life but she taught us to go with the flow and make it work.

I was dreaming of my mother last night. I miss her still after 15 years. we were battling a lot,she was in Europe and I in the USA , she was old school, her integrity was enormous and I hope I got this message from her. My father decided to join his mistress the same day as our liberation by the Americans. Imagine how my mother must have felt, I was 12 and the joy of the freedom and the pain from his leaving , all at once , has never been resolved with me. He never picked up the job of being a parent after that. I still do not like him.

I wonder how many people will actually be in the dark for one hour……….

Purses, I get depressed and buy a purse and then I run around for months with the same one, not taking the time to change. My best purchase lately was a Roomba, cleans under my bed in place I no longer can bend to or reach. Viva Roomba.

I do not like these artificial balls at all. In my youth , and that is many decades ago, I remember that the girls had to have pear shaped breast to get into the Folies Bergere in Paris.
