The Blessings – and Curse – of Costco, by Jean Chatzky

Yup, Sam addiction. Mostly the drinks, paper goods. Aldi is my favorite store. I save a ton shopping at the Aldi.

Myrna Blyth: Machu Picchu and the Journey of a Lifetime

Doubt I can still make this trip, I wanted to do it for years but I sure enjoyed the article. Thank you for sharing

What are the top three subjects you talk about with your best girlfriends?

Mostly about the children. Politics and religion I try and stay away from.

Trying hard not to mention Alzheimer conditions, that one consumes my life.

Doesn't Anyone Care What I Have to Say? by Sybil Adelman Sage

Sybil, I was a few days late in reading this but you have to know that I just had a great beginning of my day, I laughed out loud and truly enjoyed every line. You are to be on this WOWSY every day.

Are you still a beach person? What beach phobias are you hiding?

My only fear in the ocean is the undertow. I was a strong swimmer but I hardly made it out of one on the New Jersey shore. That was eons ago.

I no longer can swim that strongly to get out of one.

Are you still a beach person? What beach phobias are you hiding?

The beach always heals me. Whenever I am near the ocean I am transformed into a healthier person.

I was 4 years old and very ill, no dr. could figure out what was going on, now this was before we knew a lot of about vitamins (the dark ages).

A child specialist told my mother to go to the beach for a month. she did and I became healthy. Must be the Piscean in me. Ha!

Meridith, what a smart cookie! Enjoy your work!

As always, Joan, you bring back the memories of other days. The WOW poet traveller. Glad you are doing better.

The Bathing Suit Chronicles: A wOw Conversation

I still have my bathing suit and use it, the kind with a little skirt over part of the thighs. When I can get near a pool I do not give a d… who is there and who does not like my bulges and cottage cheese skin.

I just like to swim.

However, I swam at the Y for years and one day a lady asked me if I had aids. I have psoriasis and that scares more people out of the pool. I want to wear a sign :"It is not catchy you dumb broad". That would not be nice but that remark about aids got me out of the Y. I have not returned. I should overcome that too.

Did you ever have to explain 'the birds and the bees' to your child or anyone else's? How did it go?

I tought I always was an open book and told my girls as their curiosity grew on how this is all happening. I truly thought I did a good job.

Not so according to my oldest. She tells the world that I got a book at the doctors office and showed them how it was done and it was all about two frogs. One big frog on the back of another one was not what she liked at all.

I want a replay, one of us is wrong with this story.

Of course she is now 50 she may be starting to forget things.

Why Obama's Health Care Plan Is Beyond Liz Smith

Liz, I feel the same way you do.

Too much for me to unberstand BUT I voted for Obama and I have to give him the chance to see how he can fix it. Not 6 months into his term but lets talk in 4 years and see what changed.

Have you ever had to consciously choose between starting a family and getting ahead in your career?

Of course today there are choices. In the 1950’s all I could think about after immigrating to the USA , was to have American babies.

I wanted the house with the white picket fence, children running about laughing. Then it was my only goal, regrets? None at all.

Keep in mind that we also did not have THE PILL

Having said that we wanted our kids , they were in our agenda, too bad my x did not see it all that way. My second marriage was a better arrangement. We added a son to the brood.
