Whoopi Goldberg: Obama's Great, But the Next Two Years Are Going to Be Tough

yes, it is all Bush’s fault and his buddies, like Phil Gramm..can you say “DEREGULATION”?? Bush came in to a surplus he squandered it also obama is not a socialist, even McCain said so http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/30/obama-not-a-socialist-mcc_n_139… http://rightwingnuthouse.com/archives/2008/10/09/obama-is-not-a-socialis… I fear you have become unhinged, take a DEEP breath, have a cup of herb tea

you do know that if Bush and Cheney travel out of the country they are in danger of being arrested for war crimes? and you do know Bush has bought lots of land in Paraguay.? some think it is a place to hide, just in case http://blindnation.wordpress.com/2006/10/17/bush-buys-land-in-northern-p… http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread235278/pg1

good for you! Ann Coulter is ,plain and simple, not a nice person! But more importantly, not a mother..so she could not possibly be able to judge (but can you imagine having her as a mother??? Heaven forbid!) Ann “lied with statistics” she has no heart

Whoopi Goldberg: Obama's Great, But the Next Two Years Are Going to Be Tough

Whoopi, well said..the work ahead of us is tremendous. But Obama had a good point..a lot of it was of our own making, so we can correct it. We can start by returning regulations and oversights that were stripped away and allowed the stunning human greed to run rampant. I like the idea of rebuilding our infrastructure and creating jobs in the process. Obama is an intelligent, thoughtful man and he is surrounding himself with great people. I thought his dinner with the conservatives was a stroke of genius He really is a uniter. While I appreciate his making history as the first non-caucasian president, it is his intelligence and global appeal that ranks first with me. I believe he has already started to restore our tarnished image. My friends in other countries are as delighted as I am. I also loved your emark to Ann Coulter on how she “could dish it out but she couldn’t take it” I appreciate your comments ,whoopi, “idealistic but pragmatic”

Ann Coulter has no heart, and perhaps no soul…she is pure venom and she lies with statistics. what kind of person would admire her?

Laura Bush Angered Over Obama Attacks (Video)

I think it is you who does not know what she is talking about..the Federal failures on katrina have been ennummerated, Bush himself admits the intelligence was wrong on Iraq (but Cheney said they’d do it again anyway) Bush ignored initial reports on Katrina and was in fact in AZ celebrating McCains birthday the Coast guard did indeed rescue 30,000, the only agency to do a superb job check links: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5217698 http://thinkprogress.org/2008/04/24/flashback-as-katrina-raged-mccain-ce… the levees are under the US Army Corps of Engineers= FEDERAL, of which GW was Commander in Chief http://www.mvn.usace.army.mil/pao/response/levee_dist.asp http://www.yourlawyer.com/topics/overview/levee_failure Laura Bush is a good wife..no argument there

Whoopi Ponders Paterson's Power to Pick Hill's Replacement

When I first heard Caroline Kennedy was being considered for the job, I was pleased. Perhaps some of it was nostalgia having grown up in Kennedy era. Now I am not sure. and certainly the Blagoveich /Illinois /senate issue has made a case for “it would be better to let the voters decide” After hearing her talk and being vague on issues, I am less inclined toward her. However, it is only 2 years and she could prove herself

Jane Wagner: In the Future ...

this was delightful! “bipolar bears” ,”fascism lite” LOL thanks!!

We could all use some comic relief. Make us laugh! What's the best joke you've ever heard?

one of my favorites from Steven Wright: “I put a cup of coffee in the microwave and I almost went back in time”

I have some nice, handwritten correspondence going on…a college friend, my mother’s elderly cousin and penpals (some for over 20 years) in England, Germany and Australia nothing beats a handwritten letter in the mailbox!

Obama on the Record: He'll Use His Middle Name Taking Oath of Office

and why not? getting used to a name that is out of the norm just takes time I think about all the performers who changed their names to sound more neutral, less ethnic (Ramón Estévez changed his name to Martin Sheen,Michael Caine was born Maurice Micklewhite) But it happens less nowadays, I used to joke “Imagine trying to make Arnold Schwarzenegger change his name!” I have long been interested in names, their origins and meanings: “Barack” means “blessing” “Hussein” means “good” or “handsome” http://notabene.typepad.com/canossa/2008/02/juan-cole-on-th.html I did a study on “John Smith” in other languages: Johann Schmidt, Sean Magoon, Juan Hernandez, Giovanni Ferrari, Ivan Kuznetsov, Janus Kowalski, Hanus Kovac, Joao Ferreiro,Jean LeFevre “A rose by any other name…..”
