Hillary Clinton Heading to Israel; U.S. to Give Gaza $900M

Glad you got my drift, any time the Israeli troops go into one of their periodical rampages against their arab neiighbours, voila!!!, something happens in a distant corner of the world, to remind us all of 6 million people massacred during the Holocaust. Maybe, this is fair.  But, sometimes I wonder why nobody seems to remember the 28.000.000 russian citizens that died during WWII (mind you, I had not a clue about this until I visited the USRR in 1985, but they reminded me of this tiny fact & then some… I learnt.)  Many of my relatives married jewish people in the last years,  so their stories are part of our common memories.  So, whatever happens in Israel right now, we already know & we are quite able to draw our own conclusions.  As I said before, innocent they are not.  Let us hope for the best-  Who knows, now that the Swiss are finding, finally, their own voice about those dirty monies in their keep, we shall finally be able to put the final pieces into the puzzle.  I am hopeful even though I know the near future is quite dark.  This also shall pass, trust me.

No dear you are going to be blessed because you acknowledged your country is the hostage of rogue israeli interests, not all jews agree with their policies you must remember that.  Jewish people are not in the same league with the Mossad for istance.

Why don’t u ask this question to the israeli lobby in Washington DC, they have all the answers, you dummies!!!!

Should NYTimes.com change their model and charge for their online content? Tell us why

A couple of years ago the  NYT on-line edition tried to charge for the articles written by their star journalists.  It was a flop.  I remembered I thought it was a bad marketing idea because those same articles (i.e. Dowd/Krugman) appeared at the same time in the on-line editions of foreign papers.  In my case, I just had only to wait a little to read the same in the on-line edition of La Nacion (Buenos Aires)  No, i don’t think I’ll pay, when you have so many choices on the Internet coming from the most important newspapers of the world.  But things are changing so fast everywhere that they will sure find alternatives for their financing

Holocaust-Denying Bishop Booted by Argentina

Thanks Marjorie, a real lady!!!

Thank you Robert, it’s so good to hear a knowing voice.  Nothing is so disruptive in a educated discussion than lack of knowledge or half-truths.  Kudos for you, it seems nobody here knew who Monsignor Lefevbre was.

Noelle pls read all my mails.  I happen to know many people with numbers tattoed on their arms.  I tell you a story.  My first job as a Travel Agent was as a Junior Manager at one of the most import Travel Agencies in Buenos Aires in that time.  His original owner, a jewish gentleman from Leipzig who was the in his eighties, told me many times how he & other jewish people in Buenos Aires had created the Agency in the early forties as a means to facilitate the exit of jews trapped in war-torn Europe. They did a fantastic job & saved many lives.  Most of the survivors became our clients & then I was able to learn about their harrowing experiences.  These men & women were forever grateful for the way they were welcome in Argentina. As I said before this is the second biggest jewish community in the world. A Nazi country welcoming the victims??? That would be a contradiction in terms, right??? I am amazed to see your reaction, because if I am allowed to give you some pointers I may be able to jog your collective memories:  do the words Hiroshima/Nagasaki/Mylai/Saigon/Napalm/Guantanamo/School of the Americas/Plan Condor/collateral damages/civilians killed by friendly fire/contractors with license to kill/Baghdad/Basra/Kabul/weapons of mass destruction, resonate with you??? Do you feel free to attack an argentine citizen who was not even born at the time of the supposed arrival of millions of Nazis in my country before giving me an estimate of the number of people killed by the american armed forces & during special intelligence operations since WWII.  Do you ever think of them??? Do you believe that your form of democracy should be exported by force?? That’s what I meant by silly , how could this Belinda woman spoke so freely about our past mistakes being a citizen of the US who happens to be one of the countries who disregard human rights with impunity, one of the biggest offenders when we speak of human rights.  I think you have lost your sense of proportion.  And if the Nazis interest you so much, do me a favour google up Nazis in Chile/Colonia Dignidad/ Nazis in Paraguay/Colonia Tovar the info may help you .

Let me add that I hold a degree in Political Science & International Relations , have travelled all over the world, was married to a Brit naturalized american & lived in New York City for many years. I admire your country, it is in fact my favourite place to live & consider the USA the best democracy humanity was able to produce, but innocent you are not.

Sorry, I forgot to remind you that this country also accepted many survivors of the Holocaust, including the famous Mrs Schindler who remained in Argentina until her death a couple of years ago surrounded by many survivors & their families.  So, you see, I know my national history very well, politics are my hobby & love to trace uncomfortable truths, therefore I’m fanatic about "hard facts".

Appreciate your thoughts, but beg to differ.  Please. google up "lefevre/lefevristes" & you will probably understand better who is Bishop W/why excommunion is not a matter of political opinion according to the tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.

I want to make myself clear, I am a lapsed Catholic , so I am in no way defending the institution but I like to read informed opinions no hearsay.  Pope Ratzinger is no Tayllerand in the diplomacy depatment, his "faux pas" are many but matters of dogma & politics should not be confused.

As for Argentina, I know only too well the extent of our sins in the Human Rights field.  I came of age in the seventies, lost many a friend during the "lead years" & suffered the blunders of most of the administrations, I am samrting right now because at the moment we are loosing our republican institurions or what is left of them.  Haven’t seen any Nazis lately but you surely appreciate the irony of fate when I tell you that one of the most admired leaders of us, the ones pro-democracy is a Rabbi, Rabbi Bergman whose brilliant intellect is a beacon for us all in this critical moment in our history.  Hope you pray for us-

That’s such a silly thing to say.  Probably you ignore that the second biggest jewish community in the world lives in Argentina (the first being the one in the USA) & they have been thoroughly integrated in our society.  Then, please remember that the Nazi episode you mention happened over 60 years ago during the first administration of Juan Peron, a dictator with totalitarian leanings, not even during those dark times were the argentine jews in any kind of danger.  This is a free society where catholics/jews/muslims & even lefevristes live side by side.  And those famous Nazis were only a few & already dead.

We have very big problems but cleaning up a supposed Nazi image is way beyond my comprehension.

Holocaust-Denying Bishop Booted by Argentina

I already did Marjorie, the present administration has other problems now & needed badly something huge to hide the real problems.  They could not care less about what the Bishop W says about the holocaust, a famous member of this administration aired the same views in public & nothing happened.  Besides, the Administration & the Catholic Church  have been at odds for the last six years, probably the lowest point in our history.

Holocaust-Denying Bishop Booted by Argentina

Do not be fooled with this news.  Problem is the Kirchner administration is going down the drain, facing a monumental domestic crisis (political/social & financial), there is a massive strike of ranchers & agricultors which already proved to be the Kirchener’s nemesis last year.  Then they badly needed some sort of news likely to make headlines & hide the real problems.  They could not fool us.  So Bishop Williamson’s extradition is just a decoy, nothing else.
