When's the last time you visited an art museum?

Art feeds the soul as surely as food feeds the body. I encourage all to purchase at least one piece of original art. There are so many truly talented artists around whose work can be had for a very nominal fee. Unfortunately, they can’t make a living at it (hard to do!), but they continue to produce because they *must*. Take a look at childrens art. So free, so expressive, so full of joy and sometimes pain.

So very sad that when budgets must be cut, art and music are the first to go. I’d rather they cut the athletics budget, but being from Texas, that’s never going to happen.

Oh, Beverly, I understand! I have a beautiful art collection (designed and built my house around it), and have often thought of the future. My daughter loves art, and I’m sure will give it a great home when the time comes. I just want it to fill the souls of others like it does mine. Art and music *are* my life.

I live in a city with several incredible museums. This Warhol is one of my favourites, and the location at the top of the stairs is sensational. If you ever have the opportunity, take advantage of the spectacular museums in Fort Worth, Texas. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://farm1.static.flickr.com/36…

New York is simply magical. I urge you to go and drink it all in.

Blythe and Gwyneth, Goldie and Kate: 15 Uncanny Mother-Daughter Look-Alikes (Photos)

Absolutely agree regarding Joan Rivers and Priscilla Presley. How sad that they have become caricatures of themselves by seeking eternal youth through plastic surgery. They just look scary and pathetic to me. I much prefer the age appropriate beauty that is Dame Judy Dench or the exquisite Helen Mirren! In this photo collection, we see the extremes. One one hand is the class and elegance and true beauty of Blythe Danner and daughter Gwyneth Paltrow. On the other, the Lohans. Shaking my head over the Lohans.

Coulter on Caroline Kennedy: 'Every Time She Opens Her Mouth It Gets Worse'

Guess I never realized that some changed his words. If it ever reached my ears, my head & heart took over and heard “an no religion, too”. Peace.

Coulter on Caroline Kennedy: 'Every Time She Opens Her Mouth It Gets Worse'

…the newest book from the leggy, blonde, IRRITATINGLY SLENDER liberal-basher hits bookstores this week…” In case anybody cares, I think Ann Coulter needs to eat a good meal, and in no way find her “irritatingly slender”. Might even put her in a better mood. As for political differences, we had better find a way to come together and get over the anger and nastiness that is gripping our country. It’s old, it’s trite, it’s true…”united we stand, divided we fall”. Besides, such ugliness will eat at our collective souls and blind us to the beauties of the world and our country. John Lennon said it best when he sang this song. “Imagine there’s no heaven It’s easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today… Imagine there’s no countries It isn’t hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace… You may say I’m a dreamer But I’m not the only one I hope someday you’ll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world… You may say I’m a dreamer But I’m not the only one I hope someday you’ll join us And the world will live as one”

Sarah Palin's Daughter, Bristol, Gives Birth to Healthy Baby Boy

Marjorie, the Palins are small minded. Add my name to the list of women who would NEVER exploit a child or grandchild by selling photographs for money. Smacks of pimping to me. DeBurqa, I’m on your side.

Sarah Palin's Daughter, Bristol, Gives Birth to Healthy Baby Boy

I have a cousin who has a doctorate in psychology and she’s full on batshit crazy. Looks like she isn’t alone.

Which Celebrities Will Be Red Hot in 2009? Liz Smith's Predictions (Video)

Haven’t seen that, but plan to tomorrow. I think that film frightens a lot of people, and I say good for Sean Penn! Love George Clooney, not crazy about Jennifer Anniston.

Candice Bergen: Top Six Self-Indulgences

I love that you do for yourself, Candace. That’s a hard thing to do, I think. So easy to put everyone else first. This year, I’m going to do for me, starting with a trip to the McDonald Observatory to see the stars! I will have books on cd from the library, of course. ; )

How Marlo Thomas Gets Happy

I obtained my first library card at age 6, the youngest one could apply. 52, almost 53, years later, it’s still one of my most precious possessions. These days, however, it’s often books on cd. That way I don’t waste a moment in the car.
