Crappy diem!

A Letterman Update: More Information, More Thoughts, by Margo Howard

It’s the "National Enquirer", but still, sometimes they are right - and they are reporting that Regina is seeking a $200 million divorce.  Good for her!

I am at a point where I think the extortionist should get off for temporary insanity!  I expect the case will be settled without going to trial, and I hope he is let off as lightly as possible.  What he did was wrong, but he sure as heck was provoked into it.

The kind of girl who would travel with the guy’s family while she’s the other woman, or who would keep a diary of the affair in her live in boyfrined’s house, or who would have Letterman drive her home, to the live in boyfriend’s home, and neck in the driveway with Dave, must be  a real thrill seeker, somewhat sadistic, and ultimately very self destructive.

Yes, paying off a worm for the rest of his life would have been a big mistake.  Still, Letterman will likely end up divorced and certainly end up with countless turned off viewers, who will no longer view him.  He said it best…he is a creep.

The New York Post showed a picture of Regina, taken yesterday, with her head down, trying to get somewhere in NYC.  It was very sad.  I feel very sorry for this woman and can’t imagine how she could have been naive enough to fall for all the crap all these years.  I don’t think anyone believes the affair ended before the marriage.

A Stupid Human Trick, by Margo Howard

The New York Post reported today, Thursday, that Burkitt and Letterman were seen making out in August.  If true, that means the affair wasn’t over when he got married in March.

One wonders what she will win, if she does.

As a long time fan, and assuming there was no harassment, it isn’t about being puritanical, but it is about being disappointed in someone some of us thought we "knew".  He was like a charming, hilarious, naughty guy.  Not a threat, but someone you could see yourself dating and having fun with.  I know this is a little nuts, since he is a TV character, but now he just seems like a serial cheater to me.  Someone who never really committed to anyone enough to not try to nail the next one.  Regina is included in all this.  Who knows who he cheated on  to romance her 20 or so years ago.  I had wanted to think he had certainly played the field, but then matured and honored his new role as father by straightening up then and being a real family and a faithful partner.  Now, I don’t even know why he got married.  He seems more screwed up than I am.  That’s disillusioning!

If Regina Lasko became his girlfried as the result of him cheating on someone else, and she has known of his dalliances over the many years since, he must have had some kind of epiphany to marry her with the intention of being faithful.  She certainly took a leap of faith to believe it. It would be great to give that little boy a strong and happy nuclear family in which to grow up.  It remains to be seen if Dave is really up to it.

I have been a fan for 30 years.  Dave’s brand of humor and even his appearance are an adult version of my childhoood hero, Alfred E. Newman of "Mad" magazine fame.

I am disappointed in him. I think what is unfolding will indicate he is nothing but a serial cheater.  Did he cheat on his first wife with Merrill Markoe?  Did he cheat on her with Regina Lesko?  Did he cheat on her with Stephanie Burkitt and others?  I certainly don’t know the answer to these questions, but my instincts tell me Dave is just a player, and not a partner.  He may be trying to now have a real marriage, based on fidelity, for his son’s sake, but it is built on a very poor foundation.

No, Not the Shoes!

You are so  young!  You should wear the shoes you love until you just plain can’t anymore.  Your body, especially your back and hips, will let you know when it’s just not worth it anymore.  Good luck to you!  Thank you for your great colulmn.

The Things They Don't Know: Facts and Misconceptions on Living With Rheumatoid Arthritis, by Ashley Boynes

Andrea, initially I was under the care of a rhematologist, but since moving to a small community where there is none, an internist is continuing the treatment.  I have been on Enbrel about 4 years now and no side effects noticed.  I am so fatigued by the end of the work week, I often spend most of the weekend in bed, barely getting the absolute necessities of housework done.  I don’t think Enbrel has helped in that regard at all, but who knows? It has helped with the inflammation and pain, as does the Celebrex.  Thanks again.

Thank you very much.  I have often wondered if the fatigue I feel is due to PsA being as bad as RA, or if I am just a slug!
