So this is equality?

I looked up my first love from 9th grade. I was 23 and newly divorced with a 3 year old daughter. He still lived at home and although we dated for a few months, his mother kept telling him “a ready made family is a lot of responsibilitly”, so he dropped out of the picture. He was as short as he had been in high school and still couldn’t string a sentence together gramatically. Many years later, I learned he had married a woman with a child and his mother had died. I bet he is still short!

Many of have witnessed, and some of the luckiest of us have experienced, a situation where two people are instantly, madly and wildly attracted to each other. There is literally magic in the air, along with a lot of estrogen, testosterone and fairy dust! These two certainly have that and I hope it lasts a lifetime for them. Carla is delightfully elegant and they seem to be truly happy. I am happy for them.

We do all make mistakes, so parents should teach their children to admire others , but with a grain of salt. If kids are looking for a role model today, they couldn’t do better than Barack Obama.

I suspect there is a whole nest of people who were in on this scam. I wonder about his sons as well. Where is the money now that Ruth took out? Whom have the Madoff’s paid off to stay out of jail?

It is so predictale, that no matter the issue, there are some hateful posters who twist or ignore the facts. They lied about Obama all through the campaign and now they are blaming him for all the problems he inherited. Right wingers, take your heads out of the sand and understand that we are in what history will call a depression, and that we are extremely lucky to have Obama as our President. If anyone can lead us out of this mess, he can. None of your cohorts got the nod to do so, nor could they have done it if they’d tried.

I emailed an old love several years ago….found him living with his mother and only sproadically employed. He had seemed so promising as a younger man. And, he had dumped me. Foolishly, I entered into a relationship with him and married him. We lived together only 2 out of 5 years. He continued to remain employed only from time to time, and he continued to run home to mother whenever the going got tough. Our life used up my money, and he belittled me as a woman to the point that I’ve gained at least 50 pounds. We’ve been divorced 7 years, but I have never dated again and have no sex drive at all. He still lives with his mother and has a new girlffriend with my same first name. He has a travel blog I occasionally read, only to find they do many of the same things we did, and he even uses some of my own jokes and expressions. I think he is a sponge. I’d have to agree that if someone let you go once, you’re an idiot to go back and see if they regret it. If they did, they’d have found you. All you are asking for is a repeat of your previous experience, only worse. Asking for this kind of crap takes a real hit on your self esteem.

Linda, I agree with you. There is something in the air. We are realizing that paying for things we never really needed has not made us happy. Hard times are here for many and ahead for most, I’m afraid, but the one good thing that may come out of all this is that our values will change.

2 checkbooks, stamps and all current bills; 2 glasses cases; snakeskin makeup bag; coinpurse for change and cross my late mother had, and dog-tags from my late father. Usually a few recipes I have printed off some site, some torn up receipts. Also, large bottle of Tylenol, cellphone, credit and other small cards in creditcard case, keys and gloves.

No impact. I don’t have a lot of money, so all I every did, and still do, is make an automatic monthly contribution to the SPCA and an overseas child care foundation.

Why Blame the Other Woman? It never ceases to amaze me that we get mad at each other, rather than placing the real blame on the SOB man involved. It’s much easier to believe the “other woman” is a witch than to admit that one’s own husband is not worh a damn.
