This is the most intrusive employment questionnaire ever. It’s reasonable to query top level appointees about their backgrounds as well as their spouses and children. But the questionnaire goes to such ridiculous lengths, asking about any and all “resumes and biographical statements issued by you or any other entity at your discretion or consent over the past 10 years.” In its zeal to avoid any controversies arising, the Administration is discouraging many talented people from applying. Once they look at what’s being asked, I know many will say “why bother”? This is ironic: Question 18 of the Obama application asks whether “you, your spouse or any member of your immediate family” have been affiliated with Fannie, Freddie, American International Group, Washington Mutual and any other institution getting a government bailout. Rahm Emanuel was on the board of directors for Freddie Mac when Freddie overstated profits by billions of dollars and the board failed to spot any “red flags.” So maybe it means that there aren’t automatic disqualifiers in the application process?

I didn’t realize CDS was still around. Hillary didn’t even quit when being the candidate was no longer a realistic option. Ah yes, WWTSBQ? Being the candidate was no longer a realistic option on June 4. Obama lost 21 of 39 primaries including Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky (by 30 points!), West Virginia (by 40 points!!), South Dakota after being officially proclaimed the nominee. He won the nomination with superdelegates, not with votes, where he was statistically tied to Clinton. Nice try rewriting history, though.

A half-dozen Clinton insiders told Politico they are disappointed that Obama’s massive fundraising operation hasn’t reciprocated. “She killed herself for them, did a hundred events, went anywhere they pointed – so it’s disappointing they aren’t helping … But it’s not a big deal at this point,” said one longtime Clinton aide. Well it’s Obama’s MO. Once he has what he needs from you he cuts you loose. I’m not surprised he hasn’t done more to help her pay off her debt. It’s not part of the Senate collegiality.

Another Chicago connection. Solis-Doyle has a 20 year relationship with David Axelrod, she used to work for Richard Daley and her brother is a Chicago alderman. In addition, Steve Clemons, over at the Washington Note reported back in March: Patti Solis Doyle allegedly bred a lot of ill will inside the campaign among staffers. Many Clinton aides talked about how she had a wall erected between herself and the rest of the campaign staff in Iowa. Others who had been around for Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaign talked about how Patti Solis Doyle had shut down the campaign office for two full days in order to watch the collected DVD set of “Grey’s Anatomy.” I’m not kidding. On top of those clear failures, she also horribly mismanaged the Clinton campaign financially. No celebrities. Period. No Oprah. No Whoopie. No Kennedys. No Clinton Administration retreads, although I expect we’ll see a number of them in some capacity. Hillary Clinton must become the next Senate majority leader. Harry Reid is a milquetoast who can’t even deal with Joe Lieberman. The problem is nobody has a clue what it’s like to lead a Cabinet agency. Cabinet Secretaries come to DC with the best of intentions and leave purely frustrated at how little they’ve accomplished. Robert Reich titled his Cabinet memoir, “Locked in the Cabinet” for a reason. Many Cabinet agencies, like Agriculture and Commerce, are captive to special interests. Then there is the Executive Office of the President, which numbers about 2,000 staff members and includes entities like the Council of Economic Advisers and the Office of Management & Budget. The problem with this is that more times than not, these staff members end up mediating issues that used to be the responsibility of a Cabinet agency. When Bill Clinton tackled health care reform, it was Hillary Clinton & Ira Magaziner who led the effort, not Health & Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala. Dream all you like about who should be in Obama’s Cabinet. I guarantee it won’t look anything like the real thing.

Sorry, but the human body was never meant to teeter on 8 inch heels. In fact, in economic downturns women tend to buy lipstick before shoes. A new tube of lipstick doesn’t cost nearly as much as a pair of Louboutins and freshens your outlook without emptying your wallet. I suggest going with a classic shade like Revlon’s Cherries in the Snow.

I have a tiara that I wear for Halloween, as Queen of the House.

This should have been done much, much earlier. However, it requires a separate agency with a mandate and rigorous oversight. This should not be left to the Treasury Department.

Thankfully, I have other viewing options this evening.
