Paul Krugman won the Nobel Prize for Economics. Have you always been a fan of Krugman? Who else is deserving of such an honor?

This is correct; Krugman won the Economics Prize. There is no reason this information could not have been fact-checked prior to posting. Tsk tsk!

Michelle Obama Tells Lesley Stahl: Some Won't Vote for Barack No Matter What

Things are tipping in Obama’s favor largely because McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate. Voters are willing to risk a potential disaster by electing Obama over a certain catastrophe in McCain. If you read many of the newspaper endorsements of Obama, they come largely because he’s not John McCain. Look at the Washington Post’s editorial: “The choice is made easy in part by Mr. McCain’s disappointing campaign, above all his irresponsible selection of a running mate who is not ready to be president.” I’ll be voting with one hand holding my nose.

YouTube, PBS Ask People to 'Video Your Vote' (Video)

No, I won’t be filming my voting experience. There are other ways to expose the faults of the voting system and how I vote is nobody’s business but my own.

Hillary: I'll Stay in Senate, Where Obama Will Need Me

Hillary should consider challenging Harry Reid for Senate Majority Leader. Reid has been a total disappointment and she can be more effective as Majority Leader than President Pro Tem. In the Senate, power resides with the party leaders. President Pro Tem is not that powerful. Whether Obama will “need her” is something different since he’s shown his willingness to cast all things Clinton out of the Democratic Party.

HerTube: Don't Vote (Video)

It’s too long. Who’s got 5 minutes to sit and watch a bunch of celebrities stating the obvious?

Joan Ganz Cooney on the Real Reason Obama Didn't Choose Hillary

I spoke yesterday with someone who knows a lot about it all who told me that Hillary was high on the list but the vettters couldn’t get past Bill’s very complicated philanthropy and business life because the two were so closely tied together.” 1) I think you need to provide a source here. 2) I think your explanation is horsesh*t.

22-Year-Old 'Natalie Dylan' Auctions Off Virginity

I’m looking for someone who is a genuine, great person.” Yeah, like that’s the type of person who’ll bid on her virginity. Please. And her sister already works at the ranch? Smells like a publicity stunt for the ranch to me.

Palin-tology: Sarah Palin’s Fashion Progress From Pink to Power Suits

Yeah; what’s wrong with pink? I like it. Look, this is Alaska. It is an incredibly different place than New York. Her constituents aren’t likely to scrutinize what she’s wearing because they don’t care. Heaven’s to Betsy! A pink tunic with brown pants! A black suit with red sandals!

Judith Martin Seeks Career Advice

…where a woman barely more than five feet tall can intimate everyone?” Yes, but usually her height isn’t a problem, LOL. If you meant intimidate then no, I can’t help you there. I’m not much taller than you are and I haven’t found one yet.

Governor Sarah Palin, 44, Named McCain's Running Mate

Lots of short-sighted opining going on here. Sure, McCain is pandering and he’d be stupid not to. She’s a governor with an approval rating in the 80s. The scandal involving her ex-brother-in-law is local news, not national news and probably won’t make a ripple. She’s young enough to be “trained” to succeed McC. if anything happens to him. She’s probably a better speller than Dan Quayle is, too.

Governor Sarah Palin, 44, Named McCain's Running Mate

To be honest, any smart job seeker asks the question, “What does the job entail?” Unfortunately, the position has been so distorted by its current occupant that she was smart to do so.

Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska Reportedly McCain's VP Pick

Well you have to admit it was a very smart move on McCain’s part. She manages to please GOP base (NRA, pro-life) and appeal to independents and some fence sitters because she is a woman and young and anti-corruption. And having been voted “Miss Congeniality” in a beauty contest requires skills that would be good on national political stage. Her weakness is inexperience but she’s not the top of the ticket, like Obama is. But governor/executive experience works to advantage of John McCain and she adds vitality and something newly compelling to somewhat tired/same old vulnerability of his campaign. And you have to consider that if McCain is elected and something happens, she is young enough not only to step in but to run again. Her selection will “make energy, gas prices etc front and center. That is the issue the Republicans are hoping to ride.” A more compelling GOP ticket to compete with a very compelling Obama/Biden ticket. Things just got really interesting. Stock up on popcorn because the VP debate is going to be the one to watch.

The 'Ma Barker' of the Mafia, 'Ma Gotti' Philomena Gotti, Dies at 96

As an Italian-American I must ask why this is of interest at all. Your headline calls her “The ‘Ma Barker’ of the Mafia” yet the penultimate statement says “Much different from Ma Barker, no hint of criminality ever was suggested against Philomena Gotti.” I really question your editorial judgment in running this piece.

Judith Martin's Jaw Dropped to the Floor

This makes no sense unless you provide some context for readers who don’t know who Lizzie Boot is and who haven’t read “The Golden Bowl.”

Obama Campaign Meets With Working Moms

The Obama team doesn’t understand mass communication. The whole campaign has been built around his biography. If you ask any policy-oriented questions, you get referred to his website. This is how they expect to get elected. Did Michelle at least remember not to mention the $10k they spent on the girls’ summer camps and ballet lessons? Working moms don’t have that to spend either. “…the Obama-Biden Plan will expand the Family and Medical Leave Act, so that millions more Americans can take time off to care for a baby or an elderly parent. That plan would require employers to provide all their workers with at least seven paid sick days a year.” First of all, the plan expands FMLA to cover employers with 25 or more employees (currently it’s 50). What the plan doesn’t mention is FMLA is *unpaid* leave. The quote is misleading. Second, it’s not clear if the 7 sick days are for the employee or when her children are sick. What happens when the 7 days are up? Do you hope no one gets seriously ill?
