I had my 3 children in the 50s and we were discouraged from nursing our babies then. I only had one friend who nursed. We also smoked during our pregnancies - everybody did, as smoking was ok then. I can remember even smoking in the hospital after they were born…imagine! It was such a different world then, but we did take prenatal vitamins & got regular check-ups. We also got to stay in the hospital about 5 days after our baby was born. Funny, but in spite of it all my children were so healthy..never were sick, and I don’t know anybody my age, but one woman who had breast cancer.

The guys told me not to swim in the radioactive water around that nuclear sub.

Her husband has made so much of his affair and is so "in your face" about it…true love etc. accounts for everybody’s understanding in his opinion. He has publically humiliated his wife, and saying he will try to fall in love with her again was the final insult. Good for her leaving, and hope she stays left and does not even attempt a reconciliation, as he has even further proved that he is dishonest.

I only feel truly authentic when I am alone with myself. I seem to be different things with different people sometimes. That’s not authenticity. Maybe I’m too old to ever find out

I love coffee…drink it every day and night. I had to switch to decaff because of a heart problem. A lot of people don’t like decaff as it has no "kick." If I find the right kind of decaff, and there are a lot of great ones out there, it satisfies my coffee desire.

Well, I think it’s terrible, just terrible that these women were rescued and brought home. They should have been imprisoned. What business did they have there anyway, and that mother that left her duty as a mother should be punished the worst. Her child should have to grow to adulthood knowing that her mother abandoned her in infancy. It was all done to the greater good of the ones who got so much publicity in the rescue. You nay-sayers are right as always…keep up your good negative work. The country needs you to keep up the division. MEH!!!!!!!

What was the most dangerous smuggling event in AZ occured last week. A refrigerated semi truck was pulled over for a violation and the driver had to open the trailer. What was encountered stunned the officer. Inside the truck whose temperature  was 34 degrees were found 97 illegal immigrants who had paid between $1,000/$3,000 to be transported to Phoenix. The truck carried mangos in addition to this crowd, so there was little room to move around. There were 14 minors between the ages of 12 & 17, and two pregnant women. Officials said this was one of the worst smuggling events they had ever seen, and it was fortunate that the truck was stopped as there might have been serious repercussions had the 97 remained in that temperature much longer.  At least they survived & were retrurned to Mexico. Too many others have died in the desert from the terrible heat.

BiPolar disorder is quite often hereditary. One of my granddaughters is BiPolar, and has yet to do anything further about it. She is a talented artist, living in LA. Earlier ths year she totaled her car at 5 AM in front of Loyla Marymont, but only broke a bone in her leg. She was quite detached about it, thinking it almost funny. Then she will go in depressions so deep that she is almost unable to function. This is such a tragedy, as she is a beautiful, intelligent, talented  woman. Since she is 32 it is all up to her to get help, but my son/wife are talking about an intervetion. I’ve talked to her about her uncle and his tragic death, but it is never going to happen to another. Her own accident should have been an eye opener.

I love this…it is so funny. I have had exactly the same thought whenever I see one of those ads. The woman never figures into this. One can only hope that she is always ready too and not preoccupied with other things.

What it real about athletics anymore if there are enhancements of any sort? That does not prove the merit of any athlete if they are not performing at their own level naturally. Steroids, doping etc. etc - it makes a sham out of competition.
