Re: Men - I agree with an earlier Mugsy post. I think Dr. M is a plant. Whom ever he/she is it is clear that s/he is terrified of empowered, intelligent, articulate women. I am no longer going to wast my time reading his posts - life’s to short.

The Tv is on - Bill Moyers on food banks, and people with not enough food - And here we are spending zillions of $$$ on Iraq, and people in our country (of all ages) are going hungry. My God, this is insane!

Marlene - Yes, there are a lot of us like you - and anyone who was a teacher for 30 years is FAR from ordinary - I am in complete awe of anyone who could do that! Stay with this - I too feel far, far away from some of the posted comments, but I love this site and am so impressed with the intelligent, eloquent, insightful posts (by the women, I should add!)

KL - I took US West (now Qwest) buyout in ‘84 - started college with the goal of MSW by the time I hit 50 - made it! The salary on my first job was les than 1/2 of my US West salary, never did get even close to that amount, but am SO glad I did it - “wouldn’t take nothin’ for my journey ” of the last 24 years. People get telling me how “courageous” I was, but to me it seemed like the only logical thing to do!

When I read this post a couple of days ago, I had the same feeling I get when I read the Sunday Times and see the adds for $3000 blouses and $5000 purses, and think “who is thier audience? do people really buy that stuff”. I was actually sick to my stomach because I love this site, and thought, “boy, if this is the Wowow audience, I am in the wrong place!! Mama you expressed my feelings so well! Thanks again.

I’d never watched more than 5 minutes of the view until about 2 months ago - now it’s TIVOed - and I never miss the discussions (somethimes fast-forward thru the guests). Whoopi rocks; Sherry and Joy are fun.

I’m 68, never been to D.C.- my daughter has a meeting there in April, so I decided to go with her. Midwest airfare was about $250. Couldn’t make the reservation till my daughter’s schedule was confirmed. Schedule confirmed, ready to book the flight - cost now is $450.

You have no idea how affirmig this all is for me - I’m starting to think I’m a fairly normal woman!! 4:00 AM? the cat, the bladder, the hormones.
