The first health care bill was submitted to congress in 1943.  I hardly call that "rushing"  a bill through congress.

The Europeans have managed this for years now, as well as the Australians.  Germany and Australia have a combination system, the Swedish and the Swiss are happy with their systems and after the English updated and revised their healthcare system about 8-10 yrs. ago, it is working very well. 

At the least, we should be able to have access to the same health care that these Congressmen have and that we pay for.

Frank, it would seem to me that we should have the same health care as Wilson’s.  And, by the way, WE are paying for THEIR healthcare…they are supposed to be inside the beltway representing our best interests instead of their own.  You’re a Veteran, so I am interested in what you think of this article from Newsweek.

Frank, I am dropping the link to Terry Gross’ radio show, Fresh Air here.  I hope that everyone listens to it very carefully.  As her guest, she has Max Blumenthal talking about his new book, Republican Gomorrah.  And, even though there are many on this site that won’t believe what he has to say,  history bears these extremist movements out.  In this book and on this show, he is validating the well organized movement to totally discredit the Obama administration and to create a Theocracy.  And, he makes a very good case for himself.

Perhaps she is not aware that we are not in a Democracy, but a Republic.  James Madison etal.  formed a Republic to be governed by the Rule of Law.

Sherrie, it’s in Eastern Kentucky and all through the Appalachians.  Although it’s third world, they think government should be at the barrel of one of their guns.  Strange, isn’t it that the very people most hurt through lack of healthcare and education and rolling in poverty should be the very ones that support the very people that hurt them the most.

No, SG, she is still waiting.  They have rejected her twice.They refuse to grant this test unless she gets a barium enema.  She is allergic to barium, but is going to risk it anyway.  She is still losing blood somewhere in her body.  I warned her that she should expect them to ask for something else after she has had the barium enema.  It’s a game they play; that is what we decided many years ago when I used to go through this with my boss’s patients.

The element of radicalism in this country is quickly approaching critical mass.  Are we willing to become a Nation of Haters?  Is this what we are allowing by being complacent and quiet? 

When did it become considered somehow evil or wrong to have opposing views on any subject?  Why is this happening? Would we not be better as a country and as a people to try to decide what we have in common that we can work with?  I believe that this kind of anger has been fomenting for years, the fires being fueled by people such as Rush Limbaugh and his ilk, in order to have high ratings and to make lots of money.

As long as I have a breath in my body,  I will do all I can to try to keep the peace and at the same time to do my part in making this a nation my grandchildren can be proud to call home.

You know what?  I am so friggin’ worn out with the fact that no one can say a damned thing around here that is constructive.  It’s all "my party is better than yours".  It’s all insinuation and accusations without one iota of alternative plans, options or views that just may make this country a better place.  It’s everybody.  The politicians, the media, all of us.  Will we ever try to look at any subject with an eye as to what is best for our kids and our world and our nation? 

We are all guilty,  every damned one of us….this is the last conversation I will have here for awhile…
