wOw's Views on the News: Is Rev. Wright Leading to the Demise of the Obama Campaign?

First of all, Obama should have publicly denounced his minister when the news first appeared. But, it is what it is, and he is doing it now. Secondly, the press has spent far too much time giving this Wright guy his 15 minutes of fame. Thirdly, I for one am sick and tired of the whole subject; I guess I foolishly worry about issues such as an unendable war, the price of fuel, health care, etc., etc.,etc. And, finally, I wonder who is really behind Wright’s diatribes. Someone is behind this to take Obama down. Is it Clinton or the GOP?

What is the first thing you hear each morning?

NPR Morning Edition has me well informed before my feet hit the floor. I still miss the days when classical music woke me up.

'wOw Friend' Judith H. Dobrzynski: 'A Moment So Sublime That My Eyes Start to Water'

When I accepted the UofKy. School of Fine Arts Community Service Award, I said in my acceptance that I believe music is the language of the soul. Music is God speaking to us. By the way, if you all want to read a good book, go get The Rest is Noise, by Alex Ross. It was selected as one of the best books of 2007 by the NYTimes. A history of the 20th Century through its music…a very good read indeed!

wOw's Views on the News: Is It Time for Clinton or Obama to Throw In the Towel?

Gosh, I’d never had known you were a conservative Republican by the way you write. Actually, McCain’s facial melanoma gives me concern because of the rate of recurrence with these things.

wOw's Views on the News: Is It Time for Clinton or Obama to Throw In the Towel?

Too much attention is spent of their competition. So much ammunition for the Republicans when the campaigns heat up this fall. The Dems had best be concentrating their efforts on defeating the GOP instead of all this in-fighting.

Do you listen to your heart?

I always listen to my heart; I call it instinct. Of course, I can get in trouble when it turns out to be impulse. If you listen to your heart, it seems to me that is when you feel compassion and understanding. Ah…thank you Eckhart Tolle.

How do you feel about being left alone for a few days? What do you do with the time?

Well, I’ve lived alone now for almost 10 years. I prefer not to call it “alone”, but to think of it as a solitary life that can still be very fulfilling. Fortunately, I have interests like the garden or reading that can be easily done alone. And anyway, he and I both had personalities that required space; we were never “joined at the hip”, but we both brought our own separate lives, interests, etc. into the relationship, which made it a wonderful experience. I’ve decided that if there is no one out there to give it a try with me that I am better off than some of my friends that have to “settle” because they hate being alone. Also, I don’t want someone to take his place; that will never happen. Instead, think of the way a person grows and changes year after year and prepare yourself to face the adventure of discovering yourself. If someone does come along, he will be a totally different experience than I have ever known. After all, life is like that, isn’t it?

The Blame Game: Why Is the Price of Gasoline Through the Roof?

I know that you are a psychiatrist, I googled you. Are you the same Dr. Mark Klein that is “testing the waters”(your words) in order to run for President of the United States? In your dreams, buddy. I really think you say these things to get a good debate from the rest of us. Surely, you can’t believe the things you say… By the way, you are the same age as I am; I am proud to be a Today’s Woman. Have a good day!

The Blame Game: Why Is the Price of Gasoline Through the Roof?

Dr.” Mark Klein, what is your problem? You need to figure out why you are so angry and why you blame everything on the female population. You have no idea why women went to work; indeed you have no idea why women do anything. Enough already!

Forty years ago, students shut down Columbia University protesting the Vietnam War. Have you ever marched in a protest?

Back in the 60’s, I had two little ones, and was not in a position to go on marches. When the first marches were going on at Berckley, Syracuse, etc. most of what I remember thinking was how scruffy the students looked. In the last days of the war, every one I knew was getting ready to “raise a little hell” because by then we realized what a sham the war was, and the population as a whole felt so deceived and knew that the war was wrong. Everyone was becoming pro-active. I wish we would be as pro-active now as back then. Now, I am in my 60’s and will willingly participate in a huge march on DC if there ever is one. Our democracy is suffering because most of the population is not taking the responsibility of protecting it. Even if women everywhere decided to hold up traffic by walking or riding bikes and not using gasoline, staging sit-ins, somehow GETTING INVOLVED, we could bring this administration to its knees, and get some common sense in handling the mess they have created. This is why I am so weary with how the press is handling the presidential campaign. I really don’t care who is wearing a lapel pin or who used the word bitter(by the way, I’m as bitter as hell about the whole situation), we need to start demanding discussions about the pertinent issues facing us. The press needs to remember how objective they Used To Be; enough already. By the way, why are they not posing questions about the environment, FEMA readiness, fuel costs and our poor economy?

What's the first thing you do the second you get home?

Take off the bra, the shoes, and put on Soft Clothes. Deep breathing, inhaling the fresh air of the garden…and then, I can have my glass of wine!
