I have been always on top of the class when it came to drawing and design all my life. And I even changed my full time job as a waiter, went to the Cooper Union, Pratt, and became a Registered Architect in a brand new country,—- In 1956,I just came from a Chinese high school in Hong Kong. I was fortunate enough to work for the great architects such as Ulrich Franzen; I.M.Pei; Skidmore,owings and Merrill,architects; Gwathmey & Siegal Architects,etc. But until seven years ago, I had to sell my house to avoid the foreclosure. Ever since, I could not even get one single job offer. So I lived on my Social Security and writing my International Dance books, drawing my GRAPHIC AUTOBIOGRAPHY, planned and designed architecture on my computer, and made trouble on the internet!…..I am a 71 years old man ——- long time ago I had a dream to be a great artist/architect too.. I just realized that last time I used the same wording, “I do not understand…” in my fourth year Design of the school of architecture in New York, the critic was also the chairman of the Design department, responded that I did not understand him,( as a Chinese student),would never be graduated. Years later, I worked for I.M.Pei and Assocites as a licensed architect and ran into him in a lecture about Le Cobusier. He said to me ,” …Mr. Pei and I are good friends.” —-dancewu(dot)net

It took me so many years later that I finally realized that Frank Gehry was inspired by the Sidney opera house completely! That is why genius like Frank Lloyd Wright and Le Cobusier were so great forever and ever! People like Philip Johnson and Frank Gerhry belonged to another category as the “hit the jackpot”, ” hit and miss” attitude of the last two made me wonder if they ever had any real talent of their own?!—- dancewu(dot)net

Remember the last days in Saigon? A lot of the vietnamese tried to escape by hanging onto the helicopter on top of the roof of the U.S. Embassy building?
