Candice Bergen's Freakish Body Part

What ever happened to the dainty little woman? You are absolutely right when it comes to shopping for growing body parts! Grace and peace to you too Beth.

Candice Bergen's Freakish Body Part

Seems funny that our feet grow along with our ears!

What can you say after the age of 40 that you couldn't say before?

I remember my mom saying that now that she was older she could say what she wanted. I didn’t like it then and I don’t like that now. Funny thing is I feel I have always said it like I see it but I think now other people don’t fight me as much. Or is it my tone is different? I would like to mellow with age and not become belligerent. Not sure if that can happen. I guess the people around me would have to answer that.

What is the greatest impact the current financial meltdown has had on your life?

Frannie Em - when I said worth less I did not mean worthless. We tried to sell our home two years ago and move to another state. If we put it on the market now, it would be about 10% less. I would love to move to my home state but until the housing market settles, we are hunkering down. Thanks for the kind words and I will hang in there. I hope you do the same.

What is the greatest impact the current financial meltdown has had on your life?

I believe my answer would have to be “all of the above”. My home is now worth less. My spouse retired last year and we see great losses in investment. I am taping into savings to help shore up my business that is taking a hit this year. I wish I had a crystal ball to see how far down this crash will go. I hope we are nearing the bottom now.

Liz Smith: Thoughts Over Last Weekend While Drowning in Palin Politics

Thanks Frank for the link to that letter. It was wonderful. And I am thankful for this site where I find people who have the sense to see through the lies.

Mary Wells: Princess Grace, As I Knew Her

Grace Kelly has always been the epitome of beauty. Thanks for sharing a side of her I never knew. This makes me realize that no one is immune from the sadness life offers. Laughter, joy and happiness seem to be a luxury. They are a necessity but not enough to fill the void.

HerTube: In Memory

Never forget to remember”!? Oh yes, the remembering is easy. It floods back when I think of that day. I just cannot place it in a perspective of a timeline. It feels more than seven years, yet just like yesterday.

Monica Crowley: Somewhere, Hillary Is Smiling

Wow, Winery! That a girl. Brilliantly stated.

Martin Luther King Jr. gave his 'I Have a Dream' speech 45 years ago this week. Do you have any memories of desegregation?

When I was in HS, 30 teachers left in one semester. Many of my friends parents moved to “better” schools. My mom asked if I wanted to leave because she would move if I wanted her to. I said no. At 18, I got married and moved to England for three years, 1967-1970. I saw how the Brits portrayed how awful we were and yet the same thing was going on in London with other races. When I met my husband who was from middle Wisconsin, American Indians were the people who were segregated. It seemed to me at that point that everyone seems to have the need to be better than somebody rather then learn from one another. Whether it is fear or just plain stupidity, I have never really understood it. Sure there are people I do not want to live next to, but it has been because of attitude and personality rather than skin color. I found myself staring slightly (mama always said don’t stare!) at this couple yesterday. A white man and a black woman with a baby. Being an artist, my first reaction was how beautiful the skin color was on that baby. But I did find myself questioning that if they thought my glance was too long, was it because of a negative? I see such beauty in different races.

Whoopi Goldberg on Barack Obama's Nomination

Mugsy P. you take care. Hopefully all these well wishes will help.

Governor Sarah Palin, 44, Named McCain's Running Mate

Oh yes Sam! I will be sure to watch that one.

Happy Birthday John McCain! What birthday wishes do you have for the presidential hopeful?

Read what our lips are saying and then, have a happy birthday!

Who is the most famous person you've ever met? What were the circumstances?

Thanks Mugsy. Wish it would come with Hillary’s voice!
