What fun!! The only thing missing is when they lay on your head and purr and if that doesn’t work they meow several tunes, So much for sleeping in on Sunday morning, And where is the part where they bring you half dead mice or birds they have caught? Ugh..Mine used to bring either half dead gophers or half eaten gophers and put them on our bed. My kitties were insulted if you didn’t appreciate their offering to share in something to eat. But eventually they got over it. Finally one of the greatest cats ever, used to accompany us to the vegetable garden and then lay down on one of your feet where he would stay as long as garden work was happening.

Im not hatin’ on the French..Im of half French descent in fact and there are some things I admire about the French. I feel like the US paid the debt owed the French in both WW1 and WW2..We bailed them out of becoming part of the German Empire. The custom of infidelity in marriage being OKEY was a thing that arose as a response to arranged marriages, that were most often loveless and more a matter of business or political power..Since nobody in those marriages expected their spouse to “love” them, if they were discreet in their “love affairs” it was okey to have an affair so long as you did not bring any scandal or disgrace upon your family.. Don’t mess with the business or the power the family had. This didn”t always work. This was not only the custom in France, but in much of Europe. I doubt there are that many arranged marriages amongst the French in this day and age for those reasons, but they have continued the custom of affairs being expected in their relationships. There are some French customs which I think are better left to the French in France. We do not have that custom in the US..We have a higher standard than the French but we sure don’t meet our standard often enough. But, many people do, so we are making some progress in that regard. Incidenlty my children and grandchildren are well behaved…it must be that French blood.

Here is where I am with this story. Its a story of betrayal and lying and those are low level character traits. Before the sex came, there was a decision to go ahead and betray his wife and family…and then a decision to lie about it. He says he later told his wife all about it. Then the TWO of them decided to go ahead and run for the Presidency. They both were willing to betray all the people who has supported him and worked so hard for him and lie to them and to the rest of the people in this country. They both stood up there waving and smiling and putting out the spin that they were a tight knit loving family…Well, he lied and she swore to it..In my book that makes them both liars. Im real sorry she has cancer but knowing he had this scandal under wraps, she never should have helped him put out a big lie to the people who trusted them both. H swore it was all over in 2006..Then what was he doing in the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel at 2:00 AM taking the elevator down to the basement, and then up to the floor where his mistress was staying and thence on to her room where he knocked on the door and was admitted. Then there is just a little matter of campaign funds being paid to this “other woman” enabling her to buy a 3 million dollar house in Santa Barbara…Nope, I think I smell another rat.. We will see won’t we??? This woman was not even good at the video stuff she shot..Didn’t even know a lot about how to do it. I disagree that his conduct can be dismissed as “what men do”. This implies there is something outside of themselves that makes them do things they know is wrong. There was no one holding a gun to John Edwards head..HE made the decision and his is the responsibility, not some “male human nature” that is beyond the ability of men to control. We don’t need any more lying, cheating, low integrity men as President of our country. We are not in France..We do not live as the French do, thank God. I don’t care what political party a man is in, if hes a cheater and a liar, he shouldn’t be given a position of responsibility because he has proved he isn’t reliable. Despite what some think, there are men of integrity and honor and good character and those are the men we should be looking to to run our country. This is my take on all this so far and I don’t think its over.

My gift would go to some of the animal rescue organizations. These animals have no one else to help them and cannot help themselves. There are thousands of unwanted horses in this country and many are just abandoned to slowly starve to death. The same for unwanted dogs and cats.. You save the people and I will save the animals.

Interesting that this story doesn’t go away. I saw two versions of it on our TV today.. Also saw a news item on a main channel news report that John Edwards will NOT be a speaker at the Democratic Convention and that he is no longer on the Obama list of potential VP Candidates. Anyone else hear this on the news today??

Here is a strong vote for good California Mexican food…Yummy!! Tex Mex and New Mexico Mex are different and I suppose the food you would get in Mexico, is even more different. Chile Rellenos, rice and beans, guacamole and some great salsa..Wonderful.

Yes, he does live in California. Across the river and through the trees…about a mile from where we live now.

I can swim, but not real well. Growing up the only place to swim was in the creek..We did that but it had its problems. There was no swimming pool in our little town and my mother was deathly afraid of going in the water. She couldn’t swim. We have a pool where we live now and I go “bob” around in the water and enjoy it a lot.

It depends on the kind of neighbors one has. In one neighborhood in which we lived for over 15 years, the neighbor on one side was a charming English couple with whom we enjoyed many a coffee or tea and we looked out after each others property when one was gone. They were friends. The neighbor on the other side was rowdy, noisey, had loud parties, gave one of our cats drugs which had lasting effects, and played loud music until we felt like strangling them. The police were at that house often..My poor cat was never the same. We moved to a gated community which I loved, It was quiet, very safe because there was a gatehouse with a security person in it 24/7..We had no close neighbors but a beautiful ocean view…At this time my husband traveled a lot out of the country on business, and I was alone in the house for days at a time. The feeling of safety was important and it was great. There were security patrols partoling the grounds all the time who could be called if needed. California is a state full of all sorts of people. Some are wonderful folks, kind, friendly, helpful and nice to know. Others seem to have crawled out from under a rock somewhere and are selfish, mean, and not the kind of people you want to encourage to come to your house. In my son’s neighborhood, there is a large city park where the city sponsors a big neighborhood “concert”.. Sort of like the old band concert in the public square every Saturday night throughout the summer in the town I grew up in. Everyone goes and takes a picnic, the kids, the dogs and spends Saturday night listening to music and talking with “neighbors” The concert is free and the whole neighborhood turns out.. The last time we went, the park was so full of people there was no place to sit and no place to park the car. Usually we just walk over there along with most of the folks who live nearby. Later in the summer the city shows free movies. in the park..the kind you can take your kids to, for free, ..More picnics and visiting with neighbors… Our city sponsors these kinds of things in parks all over the city and people participate. Our son’s neighborhood also has a street party potluck where everyone brings a dish and you eat whatever turns up..

High School was fun..I participated in a lot of activities..Cheer Leader, musician in the band, vocal soloist, wrote the gossip column along with a friend for the HS news paper, was in school plays, make good grades.Had many friends, dated one of the stars of the football team… My Father would never allow me to have a job so I got my first job after attending a girls 2 year college finishing school. One summer as a receptionist and sales person for a cosmetics business. I knew nothing at all about working at a paying job. Later I worked for a company that was doing highly secretive work on the first Niki guided missles and got a high level security clearance. That wasn’t a bad job for a kid who knew nothing about the world and war. Went back to college and worked on the Masters degree and following that spent about 20 years working as a Social Worker. Those were my years spent “in the trenches” on the front line of the War on Poverty. Im a different person now..I loved it when Shirley MacLaine said “I’ve reinvented my self 7 times so far” I haven’t been as daring as she is, but I followed her lead…. Dare to follow Joseph Campbells advise..”Follow your bliss..where the deep sense of being is from, where your body and soul want to go. When you have that feeling, stay with it and don’t let anyone throw you off…and door will open where you didn’t know they were going to be”

Two things..One, the only thing you have is this moment.The power point is in this moment, which is all you ever have. You cannot go back into the past, nor can you go into the future..We are always in the Now. Two, live the reality of knowing you are a Spiritual being having a human experience, not a human having a spiritual experience. There is no such thing as Human Nature. You create your own reality by the things you choose to enliven and empower with your energy.

I think a simple “Gone Home” will do it. Or maybe “Returned to Sender”…

No doubt about it, there are some very serious problems facing the English people. Just like we have some serious problems that we need to address here. So since when in the world, were there NO problems?? So, lets just get on with it and solve our problems!!! We have plenty of talented people, plenty of money, plenty of resources, way more than is needed to solve whatever problems we have. Others in other countries will have to solve theirs and that is as it should be. Its a wonderful opportunity to think creatively, act creatively and take responsibility to clean up whatever needs cleaning up. My plan would include to stop buying oil from other countries, stop selling our oil n the world market for starters. Also, legalize all drugs and stop the flow of all that illegal drug money out of the US…Then tax those drugs very heavily. That money staying in the US would help stimulate our economy along with all the money not sent to other countries. Bring businesses back home from overseas. Just for starters…
