Jesus Was a Communist! (and Other Insights From David Cay Johnston's Conversation With Whoopi Goldberg)

Okey..Mary Magdalene was the person who picked up the bill for everyone. None of us know that as a fact, but lets assume it might be the case. The logistics problems of wandering around on foot, teaching a philosophy that is contrary to current belief of most of the population, so not a lot of people will offer food and shelter to that many people for very long, and having a place to sleep, sanitary facilities, etc. Lets say we are putting such a group together…how many are there…where will they sleep, where and what will they eat? People have certain basic needs..sanitary, or even unsanitary facilities…some place to bathe or wash your clothes… Jesus was a total laying on of hands healer according to what we read, so medical care for anyone sick or injured was taken care of by him. He took one fish and one loaf of bread and fed hundreds, or maybe thousands, which solved where the food comes from for that many people..for several years of traveling and teaching. How would we meet those problems today without the same state of consciousness Jesus had? It wasn’t communism, it was a enlightened master taking care of everyone else…It was a spiritually focused energy not a politically focused party. If you want to say “what would Jesus do? Well, to start with He would’n’t even be involved at the political level with mundane illusionary problems. All this politics and war and death is just illusion, dust on the highway!!! A sound and a fury, signifying nothing. He would say drop all that and move as fast as you can to a much higher state of consciousness where Truth can be found. Start by loving yourself, forgiving yourself for all your errors (there is no sin..that is just an illusion since GOD didn’t create it, it can’t be real) and remember who you really are. Forgive all your brothers and sisters for their errors…Don’t hold grievences and don’t let hate and anger and fear enter your heart and find a dwelling place. Well thats just for starters..

Jesus Was a Communist! (and Other Insights From David Cay Johnston's Conversation With Whoopi Goldberg)

America’s greatest asset is the creativity of her people. Individual Creativity is stifled in Communist countries.( And perhaps most group Creativity as well) Most of the greatest and most beneficial inventions in the last 200 years have come from the USA. Those inventions have benefited people world wide. They have flowed out of the creativity and work of the American people. If we have a government that stifles creativity, we can all live in poverty except a few government leaders who live at the top. Communist governments tell you where you can live, with whom,, where you must work and for how long and for what pay. And Communism has failed its people the world over. Didn’t you notice that NO ONE wants to move to a Communist country except perhaps a few radicals. Jesus lived 2000+ years ago in a country that was nothing like the USA. His focus was spiritual..not material. I used to wonder how He and his diciples lived..they walked everywhere they went, inso far as we know, they did nothing to produce any income to pay for overnight houseing or food..None of them seemingly did any work of any kind..they had left former employment to follow Jesus. So, we assume Jeusu was able to manifest everything all those people needed in a way that none of us remembers how to do. His message was, love God and follow my example. He never suggested, that I know of, that they work to make the Roman or local govenment take care of them.

Have you ever stolen anything?

No, never stole anything. As a very small child I tried to take some candy in a store, but my mother stopped me before I got started..I had a tantrum..wearing a little pink snowsuit and rolling around on an old oiled floor..but that was the only time..I guess I got the message, loud and clear. If you had my father, you didn’t steal or lie. Thank goodness for the wonderful guidance and standards they taught me..They have served me well throughout my life.

Are you eating more organic food than you were a year ago?

We are definately eating almost entirely organic foods where we can. We shop at the local farmers markets for fresh, in season, fruits and veggies. I shop at Whole Foods where many organic items are available, like milk, butter, cheese, etc, organically grown flours, nuts and grains..We can get organicaly grown rice both brown and other types. We do not eat beef or pork, and very little chicken, turkey or fish..but some and only organically raised chicken, turkey and wild fish.

Advice to Those About to Marry: Don't! Here's Why ...

Our wedding took place when both of us were at University working on Masters Degrees. We were “starving students” in those days. One of the things I liked best about the wedding was the music. It was a musical all Bach wedding, including the wedding march Bach wrote for his own wedding. I came down the aisle to that lovely music. We were blessed that the man who played that big organ was one of the foremost Bach scholars at the time and the organ was huge and the music filled the chapel. A good friend made a beautiful Ichebana flower arrangement which we put on the alter for our flowers, and we had a small chanpagne reception for family and very close friends after the ceremony. Our marriage is still going strong after 45 years together. We hope we make it to 50 years when we will have a little family party.

Lesley Stahl: Obama Needs a Big, Sexy Relaunch

No, Im not necessarily a McCain supporter, nor am I an embittered HC supporter. Im not enchanted with Obama and not ready to sit around singing Kumbaya and hoping for a Brave New World… I will leave that for you folks.

Lesley Stahl: Obama Needs a Big, Sexy Relaunch

Hummmm..sexy isn’t one of the qualities I think of as important in a President. I would NEVER vote for a man because I think he is sexy. I might vote for a sexy man for other reasons but being President of the USA is not a Hollywood kind of thing. I definately come down on the side of NOT having Hillary Clinton nominate Obama for Presidental condidate at the convention…How humlilating that would be for her after the battle she put up to defeat him. Its like serving her up with a lot of crow, feet, beak, feathers and all and making her eat it in front of the whole country. After a great battle one shouldn’t make the loser of that battle serve up the laurels to the winner. Let some of those Obama supporters do that job. I will not be voting for Obama. If Mr. Obama can sit and listen to Rev. Wright for 20 years and not “get it” and not realize that that preacher is full of hatred and fear, then Im not impressed with Obamas ability to understand whats going on around him. This is not a quality I think our President should have. I don’t think Mr. Obama is mature enough to deal with the serious problems the country and the world is facing. Its fairly apparent he is NOT a good judge of character. Isn’t this one of the big objections to George Bush? GB kept people around him like Cheney and Rove and others who were less than men of integrity and GB also is not a good judge of character. So we have all had a taste of how this problem effects things. I”ve had enough of this problem. Just getting elected, if Obama is, will not bestow great wisdom and the ability to judge the character of those on whom he depends for information. Then there are those other guys..same problem..he didn’t see anything wrong with them and how they operated. They were not the men he knew…Well, as the old saying goes, “if you lay down with dogs, you will get up with fleas”…Not a sterling example of good judgement. End of rant.

What's Safe and What's Not on Friday the 13th

May I suggest the option of a much happier life..and perhaps even a much greater quantum paradime and dimension. The nature of fear is to be unfulfilling, therefore nothing really lasting and true can be made from the energy of fear. Just drop it!!

What's Safe and What's Not on Friday the 13th

Have a wonderful and safe journey. Never mind about the black cats, etc. One of the sweetest and best singer cats I ever knew was one we had for years. Black as night, not a white hair anywhere, and big green eyes..That cat could jump up on your lap and purr away every sorrow or fear. No way could that lovely fellow be an omen of bad luck. The Greek isles is a grand place to take your son. Have a great time and return home, safe and sound.

What is the best advice your dad ever gave you?

My father was a John Wayne type of man. Tall, strong, a man of few words but I later came to realize he was one of the most spiritual people I’ve ever known. He lived, but almost never talked about, his life in accord with very high spiritual principles. He taught me many things but two things stand out that I have integrated into my life. and taught my sons and am teaching my grandson. 1. If a thing is worth doing, then its worth doing the very best you can. Always strive for excellence and give what you do your very best. Bring the best you have to your life and don’t whine. 2. Live the truth as best you know it to be and ALWAYS tell the truth. If you ever make a promise, keep it no matter how hard it is for you to honor what you promised. Always keep your word. Don’t lie. My father died many years ago. He was only 59 when he died, suddenly of a heart attack. He was a rancher and live an “outdoor” kind of a life with cattle and horses and hard work. We both loved and rode horses together. I got my first pony when I was about 2 years old and had a horse or two all during my childhood and even took one of them away to college with me. He taught me to be a keen competitetor. always compete to win top honor, but if you don’t win the blue ribbon, be a good sport about it. Don’t whine and whimper but strive to do better next time and don’t say negative things about your competition. Don’t repeat mistakes you made!!! Always take the very best care of your horse and equipment and your horse will take good care of you. He taught me how to work cattle on a good working ranch horse, a skill I haven’t use much in my life, but I know how to do it. He is still alive and well in my heart and I hope some of the high principles he lived and taught me, will live on in my sons and grandson.

Adelle Lutz on the Latest From Burma: 'We Watch As They Beat Their Children'

It is most difficult to know how best to approach a hostile government (Burma) with aid for their people. We intervened in Iraq where the government was commiting genocide on a large scale and nobody seems glad that we went to the aid of those people. Prior to invasion on Iraq we did everything possible to elicit the cooperation of the Iraqi government to no avail. People were marched out into the desert. shot and dumped in large massive graves that had been previously dug. Children were buried alive with parents who had been shot and pushed into those mass graves. We intervened in Iraq and the whining about it has been non stop ever since. Everyone just focuses on who didn’t have the correct information, or lied. More Americans are shot down on the streets every year in America than are killed in Iraq. Why isn’t anyone upset about this problem. Every day in the San Francisco Chronicle or the Sacramento Bee I read where 1 or 2 or 3 people were shot down on the street in what are possible “gang related” killings. I just read in the paper that about 4000 people a year are killed in the US by drunk drivers. Why aren’t we all upset and doing something about that??? We turn a blind eye to the terrible toll that drugs and alcohol take on our young people. So, should we “intervene” in Burma, in those awful countries that Ashley Judd talked about?? I think American people have been the most generous people in the world with all kinds of help, including huge sums of money. People around the world seem to hate us for it. We keep helping and giving anyway but the problems never seem to go away or be solved. Maybe we need to solve the problems at home first. Why is it that in our country such a large portion of our population seems to need some kind of illegal drugs to get through the day? Or no entertainment is good enough unless you are stoned. Why do our kids think they have to be drugged up to have any pleasure or success in life. The money being raked in by the drug cartels comes right out of the pockets of our citizens and that money goes to arm gangster on a world wide scale. Why don’t we do something about this? I guess I see too many things right here under our very noses that need to be solved and when out of generosity and good will help is offered to some tin horned little dictator to help his people and they refuse..well, Im for one, just of the opinion that we should come home and spend our money at home and fix the illness eating away at our own people. Sorry about the rant. I think I got out on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Maybe as soon as Obama is elected President, he will walk on the water and fix everything..Im waiting for that day.

HerTube: Parking Style

Yes, Maurine, thats what I thought about. I want to see her get the car OUT of that space…

In light of the salmonella outbreak, will you stop eating tomatoes?

Not all tomatos are a problem. The ones we get here in California from the local farmers market are big and sweet and make delicious BLT sandwiches and they are perfectly safe. I will avoid the ones from the Super Market that are as described as the contaminated types. All fresh veggies and fruits we buy are from organic farmers and I always wash and clean any fresh veggies or fruits I bring home before they are put away in the fridge.

HerTube: Do You Know This Woman?

Well, it appears to me that the first problem with this video is that the “Goddess” is a man, not a woman..or if it is a woman she needs to have some work done on having her beard and moustache permenently removed. So, yes, this apperars to me to be a mans view of what women do all day!!!

Ashley Judd's Rwanda Diaries Part Two: Skulls, Femurs and Flowers

Solving the problems of Africa are so daunting its overwhelming. One is aware that most of the money poured into that continent to various countries, has ended up in the hands of ruthless leaders who use it to arm themselves and wage the kind of things on civilian populations as described by Ms. Judd. The UN seems powerless to do anything much except to issue statements which nobody pays any attention to. Or at least it isn’t obvious that the UN is having much of an effect overall. Until the people of Africa get some better leaders and enough of a following to give lots of support to leaders with integrity, things won’t get better. They are so tribal in their focus that its self defeating. This is very sad but it will take a lot more than just money alone to have much of an impact on these problems.
