The last time I was interested enough to watch the Oscars, I wanted to see if "Schindler’s List" would win.

He denies there were gas chambers, but refuses to go to Auschwitz.  And I’m a size two…as long as I stay away from mirrors.

I’d like to offer the Bishop a ticket to Oswiecim, Poland.  Let’s see what he thinks after he strolls around the Auschwitz-Birkenau complex.

The thing that terrifies me most about getting older is having my marbles roll away on me; Alzheimers…whatever. I wouldn’t want to put my beloved brothers & their families through seeing me fade away with my mind gone. I’m torn between The Final Martini & telling them to dump me in a facility & forget about me.

The very first time I got on a plane, take-off was delayed by a half-hour because the wings had to be de-iced. Being unused to flying but quite used to Midwest winters, I thought that was “par for the course” & didn’t pay any attention. I just enjoyed the novelty of flying. The only reason I don’t like to fly is it can be a pain just to get up to move around so I don’t get stiff joints. I don’t even mind increased airport security, & I always have to be “hand inspected” since my artifcial knee sets off alarms.

I might consider aving my Dad move in with me. He & my sister live together now, but not because she takes care of him. It’s because she was able to convince my parents that she was too poor to live on her own, so now she’s there, with dad paying most of the bills (my sister’s sole contribution is to pay for Dad’s cell phone), her clothes filling four of the six closets in his house, & her brand-new-every-other-year car parked next to dad’s aging heap. My mum….no way! She always made it clear that I was the least favorite of her kids.

A job for my kid brother…with health insurance. Before he loses his house, please.

I would consider setting up some kind of account that would pay some of the bills of my sister & younger brother, but hand a pile of money to that irresponsible duo? No bloody way! My brother & his wife are continuously coming to either Dad & I for a hand-out because of their financial carelessness. My sister is even worse; she’s 54 & stll lives with dad. In spite of the fact that he’s been bamboozled into letting her live there for free (that includes phone, internet, & cable as well as room & board), he just doesn’t get it that she’s in debt to her earlobes because of her out-of-control spending. If I just handed a money to either of them, within a few months they’d have blown through it & be at my door with their hands out for more. I would ensure that my neices & nephews would have college funds…that their parents couldn’t touch.

I’m sure I’ll be going straight to hell for my thoughts on this woman & her 14-kids-under -7. I think she was irresponsible, her doctor/s were, too. Yeah, yeah, I know; just what most people here have been saying. Well, here’s the -going-to-hell bit: I think that before long she’ll be contacting the media to whine about how cold-hearted the rest of America/the World is because she wasn’t offered the freebies, lucrative media contracts (“Kate & Jon + 8”, etc.) & chance to get the “Aww..how cute they are” adulation that other multiple-birth families get.

As for people who call thos elike Palin a “hick”…we have words for those who use it….”uppity snob” is one that come to my mind! By S.J. Morgan on 02/03/2009 2:57 pm “Uppity snob” is two words.

I only work four days a week now. Of course, I work twelve-hour shifts.

I watch the game only if the Packers are playing. I used to watch when they weren’t, just for the ads, but now you can see the ads on the ‘net, so I skip the game these days.

Here in Milwaukee we don’t even waste time measuring such a little bit of snow.

As a toddler, my younger brother was like a cockroach; fast & sneaky. Even with five of us watching us, he’d manage to escape us. After one vacation where nobody could do any sight-seeing or relaxing because we were always chasing after or hunting for my little bro, my parents decided to keep him on a leash. It was a blessing; he couldn’t go far & it kept him within sight.
