I agree with you on all three points, Amanda.
A sample size of 1000, from a population of 300,000,000+ as diverse as ours, is insignificant. IMHO, these polls do more to influence public opinion than to measure it.
I have bailed out of the last 3-4 phone polls/surveys because the questions became increasingly biased or prejudicial. An honest survey is hard to come by.
