Life in the Little Lane: Edith Ann on Having a Bad Temper

Hey, Bug, What happened to your daughter? Sounds like she may have gotten a brain injury (TBI) as my son did? If that’s the case, I’ll be happy to tell you what I know —- or offer what I can about dealing with a long-term serious illness of a child. SERIOUS???? Scuse, suspect every mother on this Web considers anything more than a week, maybe two as —— SERIOUS. Big smile for you.

Change the World

Oh Ginny, that made me almost ill when I heard about it? Horrible! What happened? Why was the horse allowed to run? There had to be some kind of warning. I’m sure the entire audience gasped in horror. Maybe the sportscaster felt he had the job of trying to keep things under control as best he could?.

Life in the Little Lane: Edith Ann on Having a Bad Temper

I say, go for it Edith Ann! Bang and pound, scream and holler, then go git a nice BIG ice cream sundae — home made vanilla ice cream (Have you ever made home made ice cream? Yummm!), git some nice warm, Mama made, chocolate fudge sauce, too, and spread it all around (don’t worry about missing the dish). Top that off with as much whipped cream as you can possibly pile on — and don’t worry about this mess either. Mom (we hope) will have to clean it up (ah, sweet revenge) — and don’t forget the slivered almonds and at least three marischino cherries if not more. Then, tell Lily that she and Whoopi should do a show together — and they HAVE to take you along to help you feel better. Hugz and all that stuff; afterall, tomorrow’s Sunday and you can go to church and say you’re sorry!

'wOw Friend' Caterine Milinaire Explains Why Lily of the Valley is the May Day Flower

The May Pole still lives, Moran - at least in Ross, California, a Marin County communitiy. I passed Ross Commons (their park in the center of town) this afternoon to find two May Poles with a parcel of little girls going round and round. I stopped to watch.

It Happened Last Night: Lily Tomlin Brings Edith Ann and Ernestine to Vancouver

Marlo Thomas: The Media Steals Our Chances of a Fair Election

Marlo’s right. The media gets worse and worse in so many ways. Movies seem to get more and more violent. Ugly language thrown around so often that it mars any hope of civility returning as part of our culture. Some of the problem is that there are 24 hours/day to be filled — or so it’s thought. I find that some of the best TV is on between 1:00a.m. to 5:00a.m. The rest of the day it’s just so much useless, harmful ‘schluck’ being imprinted on our most very vulnerable, unsuspecting brains. Human brains, especially those of youngsters and teeners, ARE very susceptable to ‘imprinting’ — useful or useless — and we’re getting mostly useless. Someone, think it must have been Marlo, suggested that we take on the lack of balanced, more focused, accurate news as a cause. Good idea! I’m in!

This we take from Satchel Paige: How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

Somewhere between 33 and 59. I don’t feel old or think of myself as old except fer those durn knees. But I’m gonna fix that. At the time of my last birthday, last March 19th, I realized that it just didn’t make any sense to mark your life off by some sort mysterious measure. You are what you are until you aren’t — and I have no idea what or where that could possibly be. Time just floats on by, so I intend to just float on with it. Anyone wanna come along? Everyone’s welcome! We could even make room for a few guys. :):):):)

wOw's Views on the News: Is Rev. Wright Leading to the Demise of the Obama Campaign?

Oh Ida, please don’t wish November her just yet. I’m planning to have a GREAT summer.

wOw's Views on the News: Is Rev. Wright Leading to the Demise of the Obama Campaign?

Mugsy and Murine, think your worries are not far fetched, just reasonable. Any American who thinks we are all safe isn’t listening. I have a mystery question that I haven’t heard anybody answer just yet. About a couple of weeks before Ms. Butto of India (can’t spell her name) was killed, bin Laden had mentioned he had another post for the Arab TV station, which would, of course, been passed on to us. However, that new bin Laden post never came. I don’t think bin Laden had anything too do with the Butto murder, but what happened to his missile and why??? Anybody else make that connection?

wOw's Views on the News: Is Rev. Wright Leading to the Demise of the Obama Campaign?

Oh, come on, Anne and Burke. Obama was loyal; Wright showed gross lack of concern and friendship — once again because I think he got angry and upset because of all the ugly sound bites. (Is sound bites, one or two words???)

wOw's Views on the News: Is Rev. Wright Leading to the Demise of the Obama Campaign?

No, no Alias. The way Obama handled the whole Wright thing showed one heck of a lot of class in my view. I’m proud of what he did. Even more enthused about his candidacy now than I was before. Been sending him my nickels and dimes, too. We could use a little class in the White House for a change instead of a bunch of boors and handmaidens.
