Rocky…..I think there are quite a lot of people who use this site who agree with you while others don’t as you have seen in this and other threads. I look at this site a lot and remember many who have the same feelings you have. So don’t think you are alone. I think the voice of silence says a lot about people…..and many choose to remain silent.

At work, was there a time when you realized, not only were you not the youngest person in the room, but you were the oldest?

Don’t you know that WOW women don’t get older, they get better and better. Age is not an issue when you are a Wow woman….. oops…off to change my Depends.

RE: ” Kitty OKeefe on 06/28/2008 11:11 am RE: …..was bound to be evocative, I guess, but it also seems journalistically juvenile - even for an op-ed piece. I wonder whether one person reading this article or the comments has changed their opinion in the least.” Hi Kitty…. I just have to laugh. When these controversial issues come up, people come out of the woodwork to express their opinions…and when there are no controversial issues, the site comments are at a minimum. Lots of fistacuff issues sell ad space time. But I wonder how many people really look at the sponsors?????? I think the posters minds are filled with how they can argue their position so that everyone on this site knows that that particular position is right, right, right, right. My theory on most of the posts is …. when it smells like poop, it probably is poop.

Here I am giggling to myself as a thought went through my mind…..this is one question that Frank and the Dr. can’t comment on THEIR OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. HA HA HA HA

For those of you in the state of Illinois. If you write in Hillary Clinton, your vote won’t count (unless she has met the state board of election rules). Write-in candidates have to formally, and in writing, declare themselves as a write-in candidate. The tabulating machines will kick out your write-in vote and the election judge will verify whether or not your write-in candidate is a declared/ registered. If so the vote is counted. If the candidate is not declared/registered as a write-candidate, the vote is voided. I have been an Illinois election judge for years and I have not received any notice of any changes to this policy. As a side note, during elections, the judges see a lot of write-ins for Goofy, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Herman Munster, Alfred E. Nueman, Popeye, and Ralph Nader. Maybe Illinois should allow write-ins this year. Some of the typical write-ins might do a good job.

Do you have a physical characteristic that sets you apart and that took you ages to love? Tell us about it.

Being from a mother who was very short and stout, I am short and slightly stout. And age has made stout a little more pronounced. I don’t like that.

::::::::giggle::::::::::: I loved that! I was blessed with freedom at age 41. A very happy moment. No more “sorry dear, it’s that time of the month”. And no more worrying and discreetly asking another person “is there anything on my pants?” For those of you not blessed yet with freedom from your addiction to the tampax, the best is yet to come.

America Better Get Used To Sharing Power With Asia, by Vishakha N. Desai

Mugsy…..re: painting ….no, I do not have a website. I paint pictures for family and friends only. However, I used to do charcoal portraits for people. I even did one for Judy Barr Topinka, the former Illinois State Treasurer. My husband and I were quite involved with the Republican party and became great friends with some upper crust of the Republican party in Illinois (including one former convicted governor I won’t name). And we were invited to certain inaugurations of the dignitaries of the Republican party. This year, I refuse to vote Republican. Being on the inside and seeing some things, changed my opinion. I won’t elaborate because my intent is not to change anyone’s political opinion. An American’s right to vote is personal. Being an Illinois resident, I can attest to fewer jobs downstate. It’s rough since the taxes of the state have forced some companies to pick up and move. And manufacturing jobs have decreased however, it doesn’t appear that the huge Caterpillar conglomerate in Peoria has suffered….there have been plenty of jobs listed. Job rebuilding needs to be done, however, we have a democrat Governor right now which is in constant battle with the senate and house….and even does battle with his own party’s members. Duh! Illinois is in deep economic doo-doo right now. Downstate is typically Republican while Chicagoland is typically Democrat. Yes, Mr. Obama gained a lot of typical Republican votes when he ran for office as well as during the primary this year…..a lot of “cross-over” occurred. The crops are not lost this year in downstate Illinois, however, a lot of replanting is still being done. The farmers are attempting to eek out a reasonable crop. During the last three or four weeks, we have been doing a motorcycle tour of the middle of the state (just for recreation) and the corn and beans look wonderful in the majority of fields. The crop damage is along the mighty Mississippi and the Illinois rivers and of course around local rivers in the state. Illinois is a costly state to live in with high income and state and city sale taxes, but I’m here and won’t likely leave. There have been a lot of famous people and things invented here. The first ferris wheel you mentioned is on display just a few miles from me. Thank god for your uncle’s invention of the mousetrap…..I use them every winter out here in the woods. I am astounded at the number of food manufacturers based in Illinois. Hopefully these jobs will remain. And hopefully whoever our next prez is, the economy will improve. By the way, my great great uncle rode honor guard at Abraham Lincoln’s funeral…..just thought I would throw than in. LOL

Christie Brinkley Chose the Right Divorce Lawyer

Go Christie…..hit him where it hurts. I’m afraid I might have had to call upon something similar to Lorena Bobbitt’s techniques.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh such “loverly” killer red shoes. I call those stilts!!! Being a shortie, I used to hate to kiss a man’s armpits, so I wore those killer tall high heels. Those, coupled with my vintage high bouffant hair, I was suddenly about 5 feet 8 inches…..the thought of the day was tall meant sexy calves. When I took those suckers off, I walked on my toes for two days just to get my arches straightened out.

Soaring Food Prices May Cause Restructuring of American Value System, by Judith Weinraub

I was so proud of my garden this year. Then the rains started and continued and continued. Some of my plants began to rot at the roots since our soil is the type which doesn’t drain so well, even though I added compost to help with draining. I’m replanting some things and hoping there will be enough growing time in the season. The increasing prices of oil and gas has caused prices of everything to rise. I have started shopping for clothes at second hand stores and garage sales. Wow what a savings! There is nothing wrong with these clothes! I even bought a beautiful, almost new, service for 12 stainless steel silverware set for $3.00. The biggest dilemma is, we must eat. And it has to be no/low sodium. But when the rise in overall prices cuts down the food budget, it becomes a game of “how to have enough money to buy what you need”. The price of fresh foods continues to go sky high so I find myself buying more “no salt” canned items. I now go to the grocery store once a week. This saves fuel. I plan my meals before I go so I know exactly what I need to buy. I use coupons. I buy “sale items”. I buy the store brand, and chances are these are processed by a name brand company so that quality is not lost. Every saved penny counts.

At what age are you old enough for cosmetic surgery?

Whenever WoW executives decide to pay for my makeover, I will be ready!!!! Otherwise I will just stay the same old me.

Who’s the Top Female CEO in America?

What a great article. Corporate Executive Women have been underrated for a long time. In previous times, everyone always wanted to talk about the boys club members…..oops, I mean corporate male executives. Oprah Winfrey is a wonderful leader. She is a great humanitarian while also a very successful business leader. She needs no one to tell her which way to go.
