What's one thing you can't live without?

I could not live without happiness. Happiness fills my life with sunshine, joy and contentment. If I have happiness, I could even live as a pauper and still be happy. If I don’t have happiness what good is anything else in life?

Boy George and Martha Stewart: Both Banned. But From Different Countries

What????????/ Martha can’t travel to the UK. But but but…..she needs to go. I agree, their food leaves something to be desired. Maybe these two could meet somewhere in between. Boy George could be her Georgie Porgie Pudding and Pie boy. LOL And she could be Little Miss Muffet. (Just joking folks…..I do like Martha)

Scientists Discover Key Piece to Alzheimer's Puzzle

Re: Aricept……my younger sister is on Aricept. Her Alzheimers is pretty advanced. At first we went through the excitement phase of thinking the miracle drug Aricept would help. It didn’t prevent her from getting worse. In fact her progression through the disease has been rapid. The last two months have been absolutely horrible. The seizures and lack of recognition time is hard on the siblings. I don’t think she is in pain though. :::::::::: hangs head and cries for my little sis’s soul ::::::::: and prays for God’s hand to guide us ::::::::

America Better Get Used To Sharing Power With Asia, by Vishakha N. Desai

To: Marjorie C. re 8:48 post directed to me! Thanks for your response. You have a right to your opinion and I definitely have a right to my own opinion. Apparently you must have more money than I do so it doesn’t matter how the dollar sags. Or, you are shopping at places where you get more for your dollar. I haven’t found the right place yet. Perhaps you can tell me where you go to shop where the dollar goes further than most places. AND, until then, I will consider the dollar as laughable since the value is about to nothing compared to other countries’ money. Well guess what?????? I am a lifelong multi-generation republican WHO WILL NOT BE VOTING REPUBLICAN!!!!! And I doubt that you know exactly who I will be voting for because I don’t. But I know for sure it won’t be Republican. You do know there are Independents running. Some people are distraught because a favorite democratic hopeful didn’t get the nomination?!?! She is now promoting supporting the person who is “so called” buying the election/selection. Thank you for stating I have doom and gloom at my quarters, but so that others know, there is no doom and gloom at my quarters. We live a very happy life and everyday we face reality and deal with it in a grown up way. People who are familiar with my posts know that I promote peace and goodwill. I have the right to state my opinion without being ridiculed. I will be voting for a change from the same old same old. Off to click on someone’s name to see other posts. And could you explain the reference to the messiah? I happen to have studied the book of Revelation and just can’t figure out who the messiah is. And by the way, I really do paint. And sometimes the pictures are rosy pictures. Very rose-y.

You'd rather be ...

I would really like to be standing in line at my state’s lottery office waiting to collect a huge check for winning a multi-million dollar jackpot. But….I guess I must go on dreaming and wishing for that to come true while barbequing my ground turkey burgers.

America Better Get Used To Sharing Power With Asia, by Vishakha N. Desai

America was has always thought we were THE super power. We acted the part of super power. We preened ourselves and told the world. During our reign, we have gone through a bunch of phases, including the one I call conceit, with lots of boasting to the world and flaunting it in their faces. Some were impressed, but countries like Iraq and China and Russia had a good laugh. They were amassing fortunes, and we were amassing debt all these years. All the while, many countries were riding the comet’s trail. They were, for the most part, quietly building power, building finances and fortunes and helping us build our dependence upon foreign entities and, therefore, helping us assure outselves that no one can top us, the super power. Now, we’re beginning the slow burn out period of our reign. Rome did this same super power thing once upon a time….and look where that got them! Our almighty dollar is becoming like monopoly money. “Laughable” when presented for wares. Greed has done us in. We now concentrate more on foreign problems than we do our own. We have hungry people. We have global warming. We have no healthcare system. We are hurting on the domestic homefront. We no longer have big money pockets but we have big debt that you and I will have to satisfy one way or another. This on top of our already staggering personal debt problems. Each of us need to spend more time thinking about what we can do to help America become a better America. And if that means putting your traditional political party voting habits to the side, then so be it. Something has got to change. We cannot survive with the “same old, same old” we’ve had for the past SEVERAL decades and SEVERAL presidents. Yes, this didn’t happen just with George W. Bush…..stop fooling yourself if you think this just happened during the last 8 years.

To Hell and Back: One Woman's Story of Surviving a Car Bomb in Iraq

Lesley…what a wonderful interview. Kudos to Kimberly. What a wonderful lady she is to be brave enough to live among the chaos so that the world can have full media coverage of what goes on.

If you were a rock star, who would you be?

I grew up in the “let’s make Rock rock” era. To the wonderful rock music, I danced the Bunny Hop, the swim, the pony, the mashed potatoes, the jerk, the monkey, the twist and who knows all of the names. There was soft rock, british rock, garage rock, psychedellic rock, hard rock, heavy metal rock, folk rock, punk rock to name a few……and now that I am grown up and am a grandma there are a lot more types of rock. Just about any artist was a part of the rock movement. Frank………YES Bob Dylan was a famous FOLK rock singer!!!!!!!!! And I loved him! But I would have to want to be Cher. She looked cool when she was young and is still cool even though she is older than I am. What a singer. What a legacy she will leave to this world.

Cindy McCain said, 'I don't think that spouses and family members ... are fair game.' Is she right?

RE: By Dona Howlett on 06/20/2008 7:15 am For real??????Did he call his wife a c_ _ _ t in front of people? Geeze…..he went down to the bottom of my “I like” list. I knew he had a worse than worse temper, but that is taking it too far.

RE: By vicki lee on 06/20/2008 4:08 am To vicki lee…..who the heck are you? I see this same post on a lot of threads. Sweetie, you just think you are a hottie. (The real hotties are us woman over age 40 who know we are hot and don’t need to flaunt it!) I think you are acting childish and a little imbalanced to come to this site and post some sex related bull crap over and over again. Go away until you grow up or become a real hottie like us.

Cindy McCain said, 'I don't think that spouses and family members ... are fair game.' Is she right?

One way to stop that Cindy my friend, is to have your hubby drop out of the race.

The Desert Island Reading List

A book on how to make electricity with practically nothing. If companies can make electricity with garbage heaps, I could learn to make it with island provisions. The second book would be Heloise’s book of household tips. I’m sure I’d learn some kind of tips to survive. If the island will be as described, I’m not going to want to leave.

What is the new meaning of 'having it all'?

I “have it all” right now. God has allowed me to wake up and be alive for the day.

RE: By Fluffy In the City on 06/20/2008 3:39 am (((((APPLAUSE APPLAUSE)))))) I am a religious person. In the bible there are many references to what we consider capital punishment. Many well known biblical scholars agree on the interpretations of these passages. A couple of examples: Exodus, Chapter 21, Verse 12: He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death. In Rom. 13:4, the apostle Paul said, “It is not without purpose that the ruler carries the sword. He is God’s servant, to inflict his avenging wrath upon the wrongdoer” I refuse to be put on a guilt trip on this. I am not cruel or brutal or merciless for my beliefs. I am following beliefs set forth in the Bible. She evaded the death sentence when it was commuted to life. God let her live and that should have satisfied her. Now it is time for her to die. She is well taken care of where she is. Her family can visit her. Unfortunately, Sharon Tate’s family cannot visit her ( or her baby) where she is. I wrote before about the murderer who lived in my subdivision. He was a rapist and a murderer. He tied a young woman to the bumper and killed her. He strangled her baby and slit it’s throat. I was involved in court as I had to prove his gun ownership with my father’s gun shop records. This murderer swore, as he was led from the courtroom, to kill everyone involved with his conviction if he was ever released. I believed him.

Elizabeth B. ….. I certainly respect anyone’s right to their own opinion, but I have one question for you. Question: Would you feel the same if you were Sharon Tate’s sister or family member?
