My Comments (101 so far…)

The Coming Boomer Retirement Crisis

Insightful interview. Thanks for the comments By James Gemmell on a possible solution for the future of our country. I will pass it along to my grandchildren.

The life sciences I have been experimenting with for years. I learned through reading, and experiments I did with the power of thinking it, so therefore it is, or becomes. I just forget to keep doing it, and get caught up in life.

Do you eat breakfast?

I may have a few spoonfuls of yogurt late morning, some raisins and nuts, fruits, throughout the day, and dinner I have a hard time. I’d rather eat just veggies.

Hollywood Is Blamed for 17 High School Girls' Pregnancy Pact

To deliberately get pregnant as a teen is a falsely perceived cop-out! They may think they are off the hook, and someone else will have to take care of them now. But, they will never have a life of their own. No independence for them, not for many, many, years, if ever.

If you had a genie in a bottle, what three wishes would you make?

I’d wish for a house with a terrace over looking the sea (1) with a man just right for me (2) we can have morning tea,on our terrace by the sea(3)

What is the best advice your dad ever gave you?

My Father gave me advice on politics, reading, writing, and helped us with school work. Not too much on life, except, “boys only want one thing!” He said boys were like dogs coming around my house sniffing. “Be Smart Jeanette! Be smart!” Later in life I would love to sit and discuss politics, and world events with him . He was a book lover, and was always reading. When he was young he wrote for The Star Ledger, he loved it but, then had to get a better paying job. We would sit in the yard, in the shade of the maple trees, and I would ask him questions about the world. He was the best source of past history. I made him write down a story of his childhood, and got it published. When he saw it in the paper he was so proud.

What is your preferred mode of transportation?

It’s funny. I have to say driving my economy car is my only means of transportation. You will know me by….the flowers I have coming out of a hole in the back bumper where it was hit by a garbage truck coming down my street while I was trying to get out of my driveway! So I put flowers in the hole and called it a day. One day a car pulls up beside me, and the guy is hysterical saying, “how great the flowers growing out of your bumper hahahahaha you should water them hahahah or put roses in there hahah.” He was really excited. lol

How many times have you tried to quit smoking?

DO, OR DIE! Die a painful death. I want to die in my sleep. I don’t want to suffer the dying part. I tried to quit about three times. I smoked for twenty years. Then I picked a date to stop. I got the patch, Nicoderm CQ, and did it. It was do or die. I couldn’t breath anymore. Now I can. I am smoke free for nine years. It was easier than I thought. I started breaking the habits first like, not smoking as soon as I got up, or smoking before I picked up the phone, or after eating. I then started walking, and breathing, getting my body and lungs stronger. And I was still smoking just not at those key times. So when I decided to DO or DIE, it was easy. If you can avoid people who smoke, it would help so much I can’t even express. I would get up in the morning and have my coffee, before I knew it, hours would pass and I didn’t even think about smoking. I knew after one day that it was finally over. It was a relief to breathe clean air.

What should the world do with its trash?

I have one solution for the garbage bags left all over and piled up on the streets. It will cost but, it will work. The City should buy semi large medal garbage containers with the heavy lids. The garbage will be contained in bins, and nothing can get in, including the rats. I heard that this is what they do in Europe, and they do not have a rat problem. As far as getting rid of it? Re-use everything you can. Recycle. Companies also need to be a part of the solution, and not part of the problem by package everything into bio-degradable substances.

Photographs From 'RFK: A Photographer's Journal,' by Harry Benson

I was in one of those crowds when Robert Kennedy came to make a speech. He looked exhausted. He was tall and thin, and sadly was killed shortly afterwards. My mother and father loved the Kennedy’s. We had a large poster of President John F. Kennedy, and his wife Jackie hanging in the foyer for many years. I now have that picture. I made a photo show of old pictures of mom and dad. It will be running on CTV channel 1111. It was during the time of life when things were innocent. After the Kennedy’s were assassinated the color of our world changed from sunny yellow to pale blue. Nothing has ever been the same. http://www.photoshow.com/watch/cz3CB2pt

Have you changed religions in your lifetime? If so, why?

I am spiritual for sure. I was brought up catholic. I studied the bible with jehovah witnesses for three years as a young woman. I learned a lot. I continued to study the Bible on my own, and still have the same Bible from when I was a teenager. I’ve read many books in hopes of finding out the Truth. I rest my case now, and just live as authentic as possible. In the cases of re-incarnation, people were meant to come back time and time again. We are learning to be human. Human emotions are the hardest to deal with. I am a typical artist type, a loner who likes to be alone. That way I am in peace. That has been my thing all my life, peace. When I was a teen I used to dress like an american indian. I looked just like an indian too. Sometimes kids would ask if I was a boy, or girl because i looked like a male Indian. But, what was weird was years later, upon my daughters urging I went to a psychic, and he said that I was an american indian man in all of my past lives, and my thing was peace. I felt so much more whole afterwards. I walked the beach hard like I do for exercise, and looked down at my tanned thighs, and felt so strong in my body, and about my identity in the world. I am very spiritual, and I still believe in the power of God and Jesus. I suggest everyone watch Sid Roth’s show about real Miracles taking place everyday called, “It’s Supernatural” http://www.sidroth.org/site/PageServer, Check out the CD the “Finger of God” , and Joel Osteen for motivation for the day. One more thing, Einstein’s theory of, everything takes up space is science that makes sense of the Spirit in us, or the electric in us. Paper becomes ash when burned. Gas becomes carbon monoxide. Nothing goes away, everything takes up space. We also become another form. Then we come back. Back to the same people in different ways. We are truly amazing beings, we just don’t know how much.

Summer weekends are all about lying around. Finish this sentence - This weekend I want to lie around with ...

Well…I would like to have a French boy toy to lie around with, like Renee B, but since I don’t. I have been painting a lot this week so if I can get out of baby sitting, I will be painting. Or, Sunday I may be going to the zoo with my grandchildren, boy 12, girl 10. The Staten Island Zoo is having an Italian Festival, food, rides, games and stuff. If it is too hot, my grandchildren will want to stay in the house and watch TV, and play on my new Mac! Where I will repeat…No…not that…no, it’s a Mac you can’t do that. Don’t do that…no, you have to turn it off before you hit that button, what? The screen is frozen? shhhiii *&%^#@ it! Or we can just go to the beach, and I can meditate on asking the universe for a French boy toy while they play in the sand! Yeah, that sounds better…ahh

Do you still think about the 'one that got away'?

Nope. Never met someone I regret letting get away. I have the man I was meant to be with. The love of my life. I know him since I was twelve, and he sixteen. He is a great man, now almost sixty. I learned true love after years of him caring about me, and I him. I always told him, we’ll love each other until we can love ourselves.

Dina Matos McGreevey is asking for alimony of $51k a month for 13 months from ex-NJ governor Jim McGreevey. Does she deserve it?

Jim is crying poverty? He says he is bankrupt? He doesn’t want to give her anything? He is looking really bad. And his new partner should be taking notes! It seems that she just wants to rake him through the coals for her public humiliation, and I can’t blame her. I do think they will work it out in the end.

New York Governor: 'I Do' Want Out-of-State Gay Marriages to Be Recognized

When I heard the announcement this morning, I felt a weight lift (of the mind) like, wowowow this guy is in the nowowow!

What gadget invented in the past ten years can't you live without?

I can live without everything, except a computer. I am an expert researcher with Google! I must use it at least ten times a day. You might hear me saying, google is my god! Whenever anyone ask me a question I say, google it! It is all in the question you ask which brings you the answers you need. I have asked all kinds of questions from personal, to spiritual, to article research. I also can’t live without my Mac., or Digital camera. I had an I-pod I loved then it was stolen. Not sure what to buy next, probably a laptop.
