Have you ever experienced sex discrimination? If so, what did you do about it?

For me, it was more like harrasement to encourage myself and other women to quit (the details are rather crude, so I’ll leave them out). The way I found to eliminate the problem worked quite well for me ….. while in the lunch room, he invited himself to our table (all women). I struck up a conversation with the other subjects of his harrasement about “lounge lizards”. Amazingly enough, the harrasment stopped immediately, and within weeks he quit the company and he went to work for a woman for whom is known to be a “man-eater”! His employment lasted only a few short months. Currently, he is umemployed. Poetic justice!!!!!!

Change the World

Dear Petite … Yes, I am happy to say that it can be done! It has been difficult at many turns for us, but we have done it (going on 5 yrs). We actually divorced after 20 years of marriage. Three years later, we got back together. Our renewal began out of the need to have civil conversations with one another regarding our adult son’s health issues. Over the course of several months and many exhaustingly painful conversations; we were able to clear the air on the many issues that resulted in our divorce. I don’ feel qualified to advise anyone on how to make it work, but I do know that it will take both of you to make difficult choices/sacrifices. Clearing the air and letting go of the baggage for each of you may not lead you back together, but it will benefit you both as individuals. Best Wishes!

Today is Earth Day! What's the most wasteful thing that you do?

For my mother-in-law, I have made durable reusable bags. They are the best thing in the world for frequent trips to the store. I keep a large canvas storage bin in the trunk of my car for my larger shopping trips. However, I am guilty of using plastic grocery bags for the trash in our kitchen. It is difficult to change this bad habit!

It's been 19 years since the protests in Tiananmen Square. What do you think about China today?

Lin Si and other readers on WOWOWOW …. My apologies with the incorrect spelling of Xie Xie. It was an oversight and meant no disrespect!

Lin Si ….. It has been about 24 hours since I first read your commentaries on WOWOWOW. The first thing that I wanted to do his morning was to see if this dialog had continued through to today! I am profoundly inpressed with your abilities of expression, directness and sincerity. I hope that if you desire to become an author, that you use yesterday’s and today’s dialog as the Foreword. Xia Xia!

Senator Clinton, Senator Obama and Senator McCain have each stepped on and trampled their own credibility. They conduct themselves like method actors trying to find an audience. They have yet to demonstrate their ability to speak for themselves. They use different “slang” and “announciation” depending on where and to whom they are speaking. I find it condescending! On another note …… Yes, I agree that some organization for “Change the World” is needed. My thoughts are to do the topic resources by catagories….. Politics - Religion - Economy - Family - Medical - ECT… As women, have we become so impatient that we can’t wait to see what evolves? But as was stated in the intro … it is still getting dressed!

World Citizen is a beautiful description of what we are all reading here today! My heart is as full as my smile is wide!

Lin Si, Thank you for being completely open in your comments! Although I may not be in agreement with you regarding China’s government; I do respect your voice! China does in deed have a marvelous history with which the rest of the world has at one time or another expressed great admiration. In today’s world, it has become acceptable to criticize other cultures and practices because those practices do not fit neatly in our own societies. I do not hate the Chinese Culture, I admire it’s extensive history and cultural contributions. However, I find that all human beings should be able to fully express themselves without retribution from their government.

Change the World

Several months ago I decided not to go to Wal Mart for a specific item and chose a local vendor instead. I have repeated this trend several times. Wow, it has now been 23 days since I last shopped at Wal Mart and it feels GREAT! I have come to the conclusion that if I can’t find the product elsewhere …. I’ll do without it!

Abuses upon Tibet, the massacre at Tiananmen Square, Darfur seem to only receive notice when it suits the media or the agenda-toting self-righteous. ….. I believe that, as human beings, we have an obligation to “walk the walk”. If you feel that as one individual, you can’t make a difference; YOU ARE WRONG! One’s hard work and diligence in raising responsible, intellectual, and compassionate children may be the most lasting effort in bringing about lasting solutions. The atrocities won’t end because of a protest. There isn’t an overnight/quick fix solution. In our own society here in the US, we look the other way when we don’t want to deal with something negative like drug abuse, the homeless or the mentally ill. Yet, we’ll be the first to scream when horrible things happen outside our own borders!

What Happens to Us After We Die?

I was raised in both the Methodist and Catholic religions. I don’t have a strong conviction on what happens to our spirit in the end. I do however hope that it’s not like a staff meeting! Maybe an agenda will be posted on the door giving me a “heads-up” as to how it will turn out!

What signs, if any, of recession have you noticed?

Ruth Kelly’ perspective is “absolutely poignant!”

Last night I was channel surfing and came across your interview with Charlie Rose. Wow, I was truly WOWed! Thank you Ladies!

What signs, if any, of recession have you noticed?

I’ve never been to Aldi’s, but I have always enjoyed shopping at resale and thrift stores. I was raised in Great Falls, Virginia. Being thrifty may not be cool to some; but it certainly has been an asset to our family budget!

What signs, if any, of recession have you noticed?

I live in Corpus Christi, Texas. There seems to be only two noticable things that come to mind… The first, many locals feel they have become “broke” overnight and display a sense of panic. Secondly, higher fuel prices have resulted in higher costs on essentials at the grocery store. Our housing market is still quite good…. ssshhh! we don’t want everyone to know it!
