You are sure that he’s not trying to get you to move out … right?

If my math is correct you’ve been with your husband for 8 years.  For him, after years of satisfaction, to constantly approach you for innappropriate sex that you consistently and firmly decline (minus any other problems in your marriage) is alarming.  Margo may well be right on target.  He needs a check-up.  If necessary there are medications that might help with few or no side effects.

Dear Uncomfortable Mother,

I agree with Margo - for some reason you are getting under your daughter’s skin.  Although your daughter feels that something is wrong she may not be able to identify it or to put in into words for you or even herself to understand.  It would be wrong to set one of her sisters up as an investigator for you.  Doing so could be quite bad for the relationship between the two of them and I’m sure that you want to foster open and loving relationships between your daughters.  I’d suggest short term family counseling for you and all, some, or any one of your daughters.  You and they will all gain a great deal of insight through such a process.  This could be the best gift you ever give to your daughters and yourself.

Margo has given you some good advice.  I’ll add that you should tell him that you love him unconditionally and that you are terrified that he is doing harm to himself.

Joan - hoping you aren’t referring to me when you say "people who don’t watch the news".  I am in tune with the news - I do not pay attention to the opinion-driven media. 

The tidbits about b-ball - not news. 

I did miss that tidbit of "news". 

Word to the wise women of the world - unless you are a flirtatacious hottie or there exists an at least imaginary potential for extracurricular "activities" the boys at work  don’t want to play sports with you.  It isn’t fair, it does suck but that’s the way it is.  Your choices are to get over it and get out of the way, somehow use it to your advantage or to become a source of irritation for the guys.  God forbid you should actually get an invite and prove to be a better player than ony one of the males.  

Not immune.  Blown away by the horror.  Each day treading the waters of our own personal joys and torments.  Always dazed, confused and sufficiently distracted by the dreck of the corporate American agenda.  Every day decent people wanting, needing to do something - their  resolve wasted in the wake of lies, incompetence, greed and vanity of yesterday’s false prophets.
