Reality television is clearly here to stay, so tell us: On what show or in what type of competition would you kick butt?

EKA My money is on Adam Lambert - he’s a showstopper! I’ve never tuned into American Idol on a weekly basis but I look forward to hearing and seeing him perform. I haven’t seen anyone with such unflinching natural joy, unapologetic power and commanding presence since Freddie Mercury.

There is no shame in enjoying a bit of pop-culture and reality TV is no exception. I enjoy watching a few but know that I’d have slim chance of winning any but Amazing Race. If I could manage the time away I could absolutely win Amazing Race!

Gov. Charlie Crist to Run for Senate

… an afterthought.

It is none of my business what anyone’s sexual preference/practices are as long as informed consent is adhered to. I will say, however, that if Gov. Crist is gay and is pushing homophobic legislation I hope that he will become enlightened or get out of politics.

I haven’t heard much of anything about Gov. Crist. I’ll have to watch for news of him. The GOP has gone off the rails - the country needs a better balanced Republican Party in order to regain homeostasis. If he is one of the good guys I wish him well.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is an annual event which raises scholarship money for underserved students who plan to study journalism in college and also serves to honor achievements by professional journalists. The dinner is given by (the WHCA) an organization of journalists that cover the POTUS for the journalists and it is traditional for the POTUS to attend. I’m curious what the desperate right-wing finger-pointing and complaints about Obama would be had he not attended or if he’d changed the customary spirit of the dinner in any way. Brace yourself because FOX News was in attendance - the camera even caught them (gasp) laughing it up!

By the way - the event is paid for by the WHCA - not taxpayers.

Hi Whoopi. Congratulations on the launch of your new book! If I’m ever blessed with grandchildren (please Lord - not yet!) your books will definitely be in my stack of storytime selections. I checked Wikipedia to see what I could find about your books and there is definitely not enough detail about the books in your bio. You ought to have a trusted somebody scrub your bio, flesh it out a bit more and ensure that it tells the full story of you.

Well Bobbie, think it might have to do with a ferocious appetite for the spotlight?

The marriage is straining, her husband is not coping well and yet she’s out of the house bringing more attention to the problems in order to hawk her book. Can it be that she doesn’t give any thought to her husband’s or childrens’ need for more privacy? Its time to circle the wagons, embrace the family and shut out the world and she’s bringing the spotlight ever closer. Its hard to understand.

Bogus Stress Test Boosts Banks, by Liz Peek

Whatever. So much of what the feds have been doing back to the first days of the cold war is window dressing. There are entire US departments designed around window dressing a bad situation. Is it really such a surprise that the current administration uses a PR tactic in order to quell fears and give its citizens a glimmer of hope? What would we be without hope? Daily we hear accounts of citizens hanging themselves in the basement sometimes right after taking the rest of the family out first. We need a bit of hope right now and, inadequate though it may be, the stress test was at least an attempt. Let’s face it - no matter what President Obama does he and the rest of his team will be panned by the resentful right wing.

Kate Gosselin on 'Today Show' Defends Jon (Video)

I watched the Gosselin’s in the past - it was difficult not to be drawn in to all of those beautiful babies. There came a time when I realized that there was little reality left in this reality television show and I stopped watching because I felt deceived. From what I understand Kate has not worked as a nurse for quite some time and Jon’s "job" has pretty much been a facade for several years. Their income is from the show and all that has resulted from it period. Idle hands, a fat bank account and frustration can present problems for any marriage. This couple has basked in the limelight, accepted many luxury freebies on top of the huge paychecks and are now somehow shocked that there is a price to pay. They It is shameful that the teacher’s brother is selling this story and while it is interesting I’m not sure that there is much solid evidence of a real affair. This show has been on too long for any one’s good and this family needs to take inventory of their blessings, get the cameras out of the home and move on to a brighter and healthier path before it is too late.

$20 million bail. I get the feeling that he’ll somehow find a way to post it. Maybe I’m just speaking through my own sense of apprehension as it is difficult not to be shaken by his dark energy.

I look forward to the day that this man is securely tucked away for good and out of the news.

Lemon Tea you are right of course. We should not be seeing TV ads for prescription drugs. With healthcare reform legislation coming up and Rep. Moran’s wrok on the ED ads maybe there will be a possiblity for a reversal on the expansion of exploitation by the pharmaceutical industry. If enough citizens voice their concerns to their Reps and Senators it could happen.
