lily tomlin looked great on the tribute to george carlin the other night on pbs…..i’m going to write you somtime and send you a sample print (from mississippi 30 plus years ago) in hopes that you (lily) will send me an 8x10 autograph picture……what are my chances …..let me guess no better than 100-1…..so if you want to pre-empt me lily send it on and i will mail you something for sure…..and not to be confused with bugging you as i have a lot of people bugging me on a daily basis so i know (kinda know) a little bit about time and private things…..again you did great and its always a high for me to see you back on the screen…..take care and have a great 2009….tommy lee brown……

joni: you can include me to that list ….tom (tommy lee) brown down in ole miss…..just kidding…wanted to let you know that it looks like you all have taken off…..what do i know….just a feeling….i got on right away after the night you all were on charlie rose…..have fun….the debate friday is 90 miles northwest of here….oxford is a beautiful college town in the hill county of northeast ms….faulkners old home , rowan oak , is owned by the university and open to the public….its an antebellum home but not that large a place….i met an old cat one time in paris miss…motee daniels and his wife at there service station store and he was some kind of story-teller…that was in 1976….sold bootleg whiskey to mr. faulkner that kind of thing…..your video stuff is appealing….thanks tom

this fall starkville mississippi (miss state univ.) will have its second annual flower picking festival to honor johnny cash…go to pardon johnny cash dot com…rosanne cash to perform this year….johnny was arrested and put in jail for public drunk and picking flowers for june carter cash one night so the story goes….starkville is a beautiful small college town in northeast ms…its my school so fyi….thanks tommy lee brown

candice: one more if thats all right…as far as fear of food etc…a good friend of mine here in lowndes county ms. who will turn 90 in nov. was a professional harness racer for 30 years and one of the top winners…he said of fear….in racing that is….if you are afraid of getting hurt you probably will….a lot of truth in that…only thing to fear about food is eating too much all the time….thanks again…tommy lee

candice: just talked to you all and lily tomlin…you are another person that is amazing and nice…south pacific reminded me of the late great mary martin…be nice if you all could write something about her life and record breaking performance on broadway…i just write what i feel…a good friend of mine (jane gilman) formally of laguna beach and now southern wisconsin knew her thur her sister in law elizbeth gilman lautner (gilly)…anyway mary martin is a weatherford, texas gal…in that i have spent time with friends on the parks ranch in palo pinto (near by)…take care tommy lee a boomer from down south (miss.)

certainly but it takes skill to get through life…not the kind you learn in college of post graduate….i am a big fan of john wooden (former ucla basketball coach) he wrote something like this…if you dont put pressure on yourself you wont do a good job….you gotta have some friends and not be afraid to ask for help if you get in a bind….and do the same for them cause you never know and an old southern saying…well i going to leave that out…sad about tim russett , he was one of us, and brian williams and nbc will be lost without him….thanks tommy

ms. joni evans: have a great friend that will turn 90 in nov. tom wilburn…lives on his family place (smith oaks plantation) here in miss. (ca. 1833) anyway…tom is a commercial cattleman and works everyday….(not a banker or lawyer farm or for lack of a better word-gentleman fam) so i ran across j.r. simplot’s (what i have learned from esquire) and it reminded me of mr. tom…thought you might want to look it up….it is one of the best i have read…..love older folks…my day was a work-a-holic and never spoke to us…so on summer vacations my granddad would take me fishing on his beautiful farm in southern illinois….so one of my best friends (besides tom) is jane gilman (old california) who now lives with here daughter in southern wisconsin…so what is this all about…well i would have never made it so to speak without older folks in my life…just spitballing joni….again you gals are going to make….tommy lee brown…p.s. sent you wed address to susan gilmam…janes daughter who is about 60…jane turned 95 this month…was very good friends with mary martin and still is with william mulholland’s granddaugher (mrs. lillian m. macedo) met her twice in laguna beach at on news years eve…great gal…very humble…thanks again
