My Comments (26 so far…)

Finish this sentence - Good cosmetic surgery is ...

makes me want to try it some day. However, I am still rather leary about the risk of surgery and the results. If I don’t look in the mirror,I’m fine. So then I say why should I go through all the trouble just to please other people’s eyes.

To April, Thank you for sharing about “Motherless Daughters”.My mom passed when I was 42. I had four young children at the time…so I did not have time to grieve. Some of my friends still have their moms who are in their mid 90’s. My children are about the age I was when I lost my mother. I think about how it will be when I leave them and I become very sad. I tell them they have their children to raise and time will heal their grief as it did mine. I remember one of my mom’s last wishes..she said “Don’t forget me.” And we haven’t.

Life in the Little Lane: Edith Ann on Childhood

I find that childhood today is very shortlived. From what I observe from being with my grandchildren, they are very wise for their young years. They develop more quickly both physically as well as mentally. Is it the vitamins or exposure to television and computers? My 9yr.old and 6yr.old granddaughters are very mature for their ages. I am amazed at their accomplishments compared to where I was at their age. And, yes it is a stressful time especially in our world today. They know too much too soon. As a teacher, I see how much is expected of them…testing, homework, afterschool sports and clubs. Of course the parents are also stressed in driving them to all these activities. However, it is what it is, unfortunately. I led a much simpler life as a child. By today’s standards it would be considered less than exciting!

Did Sen. Obama clinch the Democratic nomination last night?

THANK YOU, RENATA, FOR YOUR WISE COMMENTS. YOU HAVE ENLIGHTENED ME TREMENDOUSLY. I HAVE BEEN VERY CONFUSED WITH ALL OF THIS LONG, DRAWN OUTBATTLE”. I CAN NOT TRUST SEN.CLINTON AND AM NOT THAT SURE ABOUT MCCAIN. HOWEVER, I DO RESPECT SEN.OBAMA AND WHAT HE STANDS FOR. I AM A NEW YORKER AND AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT OUR SECURITY.I HOPE AND PRAY THAT SEN.OBAMA WILL KEEP AMERICA SAFE. I ALSO TRUST THAT HE WILL CHOOSE A VICE PRESIDENT OTHER THAN CLINTON!

This we take from Satchel Paige: How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

JAMES ALLEN AUTHOR OFAS A MAN THINKETHWISELY SAID:”AS HE THINKS,SO HE IS; AS HE CONTINUES TO THINK, SO HE REMAINS.” SO LET’S KEEP THINKING WE ARE 30 SOMETHING AND PERHAPS WE WILL REMAIN IN THAT DECADE. AGE IS JUST AN ATTITUDE

This we take from Satchel Paige: How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

When I don’t see myself in the mirror,I feel that I am 35. I have three daughters ages 36, 40 and 43. They are always complaining that they are exhausted. I seem to be able to fit in with their lifestyle, to some degree. However, even though I am very active, I seldom complain about being tired. If anyone asks you how old you are just reply”Age is just a number and mine is unlisted.” It always gets a laugh…

On '60 Minutes:' New Machine to Kill Cancer Without Drugs, Radiation, Surgery or Side Effects

What an amazing program…a dream come true if it can be accomplished! I learned about cancer as a youngster when my aunt, age 40, succumbed to it. She was my mom’s youngest sister. In the years to follow another aunt suffered breast cancer and died. Shortly after that her three daughters died from the dreaded disease. I have since become cancer phobic… but aren’t we all to some degree? I am hoping that this new idea can be the answer to everyone’s prayers. I have witnessed too much suffering and loss of young as well as older people.A cure has been too long in coming. My aunt died 59 years ago!

Thank you for the spectacular photos of Gaudi’s incredible architecture. I thoroughly enjoyed your commentary also. I look forward to a long relationship with your unique website.

What Happens to Us After We Die?

This was a very interesting session. I am looking forward to many more stimulating questions. Thanks to Charlie Rose for being wise enough to invite you to his amazing program! He is by far the best interviewer on television!

What Happens to Us After We Die?

Anytime I begin to have doubts about an afterlife and Catholicism,I recall what my philosophy professor lectured about faith: God created the animals with a limited intelligence. We are the highest on the scale of intelligent beings.Just as a dog cannot read, but is highly intelligent, we as humans cannot comprehend beyond a certain level. In other words, we must have faith in that which cannot be explained. How do we explain the world of computers to the average lay person? It is not a miraculous phenonomen? We accept it for what it is and give little thought to how it operates. Do we question its origin or where it is headed? Do we not have faith that it is and will continue to be one the most,if not the most, unbelieveable invention of our time? Therefore, I believe there is a heaven, even though I cannot begin to explain how it can be. I believe because of faith: believing without seeing or understanding. APRIL 9, 2008 1:35PM
