It's been 19 years since the protests in Tiananmen Square. What do you think about China today?

Joan Cooney: Senators Clinton and Obama Have Made Each Other Unelectable

Patty, The voters have no convictions. They just never learn. It’s a me, my, and mine and the spin to believe ya still got somethin’ and it’ll be there forever and ever, and let’s just get on with the gossip. Basically as to democracy, there are no United Stated of America anymore. Just spin, gossip, and consumerism. Brains to use all gone to cyberdust and agri-pharms.

Joan Cooney: Senators Clinton and Obama Have Made Each Other Unelectable

This is a riot. The only thing that makes sense is the statement as to whether the Senators Clinton and Obama have lost their ‘electibility’ factor. This in itself is a losin’ strategy. Ceratinly they have and should. They are each an example of how the Party Cartels can corrupt. It is the Party folks. The candidates have no individuality. They are owned by the Party Cartel even more than McCain will be and that’s bad enough. And the Party, both, are owned by G-8 money so powerful it can choose who lives and dies. And that money and power are really G-8 Neocon. Remember our candidates go across the pond for fund raisers, huh? Gettin’ it? Neocon Republicans or Neocon Democrats makes no difference. And that money wants neither Clinton or Obama and they sure as hell didn’t want Edwards. They prefer Obama to have to compete against to get McCain for the Republican good ole boys to control and keep us warring for all those war toys in steel, germs, plutonium, and our Sons and Daughters to keep bringin’ in the global’s We The People’s money for another 100 years at least. And they want to be sure that any new energy business goes the way of the Multinats with policies to keep out the lowly U.S. entrapreneurs. They want to take oil outta our National Parks and Federal Lands, and ta hell with the clouds. We seem to be naive as to this sinister operation within the party cartels. After 9/11 how can anyone be naive. After 99 % of the scientists say we could go bonk if somethings not done real soon and they are saying this after they said it 20 years ago for gawdsake —and we’re still naive? Mr. Nader is out there on the trail and has been goin’ to podunk to podunk on a piece of ole shoe leather and some grease, tryin’ with only the money of the good podunkers to keep him slidin’. This man and his Nader’s Raiders put policies in place for just about every product that could effect the American people as to safety and quality control and the same with social foundation policies. Reagan came in and got rid of them all and NO Democrat has come along and gotton them back for us. Think about this. Just think for gawdsake. It hurts for only a little while. It won’t kill ya but to not think will. Mr. Nader has touched every facet of the bureacratic system. He knows it. He’s had to persuade each one to set in his polices. He knows why the system is broken and how to fix it. It makes no sense to float a good educational plan or universal health or job and business development over a broken system. THE SYSTEM IS THE FOUNDATION. Ya run a Rollsroyce over a crumbled road and it’ll hold up no better than a Studebaker! The System must be fixed and it is a massive political and theorhetical endevor. The G-8 is systematically takin’ America out, and the speed is unbelievable. Again I quote from CSPAN and PBS Documentaries: The U.S.A. in the world:37th in overall health* 49th in literacy* 30% H.S. Students don’t graduate* only 50 of the largest bus. in U.S.A. are U.S.A. owned*40% of our debt is owed to the Pacific Rim*30 million adults below the literacy rate*31st in life span*28th in infant mortality*overall considering all categories & nation’s wealth the U.S. stands 12th in the world. And it is only the guns, germs, and plutonium that keep us that high. I grew up and we were # 1 in everything. Not that I need to be #1 but by golly for what we pay in our money and blood, sweat, and tears I sure as hell wanna be in the top 5. You? And not any of us are ashamed to bluster and blast as to what the media and the party politics is doing to such a fine and capable and proven and documented American as Mr. Nader. This Man for gawdsake is Metal of Honor stuff for what we already know he’s done. Where Is Our Head? What IS the problem? Because there is no dirt on this man the hens and cocks wouldn’t have anything to cackle and crow about except issues? And wouldn’t that be quite a dish of scrambled eggs for the little I’ve seen or heard ISSUES of utmost importance discussed on this site or in the media. What is it about us that seems to continously kill all the prophets, be they in theology, science, human rights, or politics, —for profit? Just in my life I’ve seen it happen over and over again and the Ole Crone’s bones moan. What surprises me is how many people don’t get this. And even more is you have the perfect candidate and don’t even know it. Can’t seem to fit it around you. It’s like lookin’ at your own reflection in the water and thinkin’ it’s someone else and goin’ right on by. Ralph Nader IS the Democrat. Has always been THE Democrat representing, as a Kennedy Kid himelf, the Roosevelt Democrats. The man has laid his life aside for the American people for over 40 years, responsible for any law and policy that makes your automobile and just about all products sold to you and programs designed for you before Raegan came in in the 80’s and wiped them all out and no democrat since has brought them back in or even tried to. Not even tried. We outsourced our hometowns to go to the mall and EBay to save 50 cents. We outsourced our productivity believin’ the crap that we could get the product cheaper if we did. And we got so gawddamn good at oursourcin’ our productivity and our 50 cents, we set the G-8 up to outsource the whole U.S.of A . Well, maybe Chicken Little was a Visionary. Sure looks like the Sky might fall, and so so obviously so few have a clue to what this will mean to us from the lower half of the upper class on down. Not a clue. www.votenader.org/ At least send the guy a couple of bucks so he can still act out democracy for our sake. You don’t have to vote for him to support what he’s tryin’ and tryin’ and tryin’ to do.

How do you feel about Senator Clinton's win in Pennsylvania?

Ahhh ladies, the ole most electible excuse yes? Well if all the people who liked Mr. Nader last time and thought him better Presidential material and didn’t vote for him because they didn’t think him ‘electible’ —still got George Bush didn’t they? And didn’t Al Gore really end up doing something better after his loss, —and heyyyy the Nobel Prize and all? Maybe it was just Cosmic. And maybe if everyone who wanted to vote for Mr. Nader had, we would at least had a Rebublican or Democrat President and administration that could see in a 3 way split —just how disgusted most of us are and get on it! But rather than do any traversing on our thinking, it may be easier to just call the Good Man a Spoiler, and say he lost the election for Gore, rather than take personal responsibility for our democracy woes. The election was lost by the voters w/o conscience and Al Gore’s home state and the manipulation at the voting poles. But every dysfunctional family needs a scapegoat I suppose and what is the total population afterall, if not the family? Mr. Nader is a Politician in the right sense. A Statesman. What he is not is a —politico. This I like. But I guess folk don’t understand the difference possibly. The present candidates have done so little that can be documented with authority as to what they have actually done that effects us, We the People, everyday, —that they must snip at one another and the unconscious voters snip about them. Issues? What issues? Whose talkin’ issues aside from ‘I will’ politico speech and very little on exactly how. I’ve seen over the last 8 years what we get when we vote our ‘speculations’ rather than our conscience. We get what we deserve. What the Democrat Party cartel did to sabatogue Mr. Nader the last time is in my opinion criminal. Not my kind of people. Money and legal beagles doin’ the same unbelievably rotten stuff the Republicans were doing to them! Obviously you get it and I don’t. Mr. Nader, actually, is a true Demoicrat of the kind before the corpies came in in the late 70’s and bought off the Democrat Party. I just won’t play with people like this. Methinks we can look forward to a McCain Hawk neocon administration, if folk don’t vote intelligent and well informed on issues, and voting conscience rather than the ‘electibility’ contest. Neither of the Democrat candidates is any longer Presidential. They’ve fallen. About a billion bucks to become fallen angels. Isn’t this obscene? Isn’t this alotta pimpin’ and prostitutin’? And if folk paid attention to Mr. Nader they’d have to discuss issues wouldn’t they? Talk about a culture showin’ a lack of respect for itself.

How do you feel about Senator Clinton's win in Pennsylvania?

Maurine, everyday I check out Mr. Nader. Needless to say I disagree with just about everything you say on this one. His record of accomplishments are loud and clear and documented. He has not been silent during the Bush Administration at all. In fact he has had to use more energy becuase he does not get the support of the corporate owned media and media pundit dundits. C=SPAN, thank you for your efforts at democracy! If he were only in it for himself he’d be a whole lot richer. Obviously you don’t go back far enough to know what he did for this country and the world as his advocacy was copied world over. And almost everything he did to protect and consider We the People was eraced by the Reagan administration and no democrat or republican has done anything to get it back. Now we have all kinds of food, pharmaceutical, environmental, health, and products problems. But the big problem with Mr. Nader, really, is no one can find any dirt on him. Boring. Not important that he has touched every system of the government that has a broken system since Reagan. That’s All Folks! As you ponder his ruinous acts, drive safely.

What do men not know about women?

I agree with Moran Moraine!!!!!! I’m runnin’ outta steam on this website and fillin’ up with guilt at the waste of time gettin’ from one place to another in a reasonable amount of time. I notice some women I enjoyed their points of view are all gone and they were gung ho at first, and sharpies at that.

How do you feel about Senator Clinton's win in Pennsylvania?

I dislike the negativity of both of the Democrat candidates. Sen. Obama’s are often through the back door and quite passive aggressive. Sen. Clinton’s are up front and assertive. I think both resorting to such behavior is stupid and silly as I do all the people in all the churches who just love it and play along. I’m glad Sen. Clinton won last night and by double diget. However, my vote will be for the ‘Spoiler’, Mr. Nader, I suspect. Some of us know it’s really about issues. Really big bad serious issues of which Mr. Nader states clearly. This isn’t a Party that thinks it’s about pin the tail on the Donkey and a prize for the blinded person.

Forty years ago, students shut down Columbia University protesting the Vietnam War. Have you ever marched in a protest?

And girls your gonna really knock me down on this one. I like Mark Klein, MD. Oh stop your spittin’ ! If we allow ourselves to respond instead of re-act we can see the points he injects in our conversation actually do represent some problems that have come from the Women’s Movement that certainly weren’t intended. I, personally, think they should be taken one by one and dialogued. They are important. He is not, I don’t think, ALL wrong. And I suspect his intent is to promote the dialogue if there are any listeners. I’m listenin’. Anyone else?

Forty years ago, students shut down Columbia University protesting the Vietnam War. Have you ever marched in a protest?

To those of you who marched for those worthy causes, I say thank you. Many of your Sisters were back inland bein’ mommies and community watchers and organizers doin’ some down home work, and our hearts were with your actions as you represented so many of us, as you were doin’ the ‘ton’ of ‘washing’ work! A lot got hung at the 1600 Block, but still a long way to go. Although the Laws are clear, they are not supported by the federal legal system as to a considerable amount of people as to gender/color/age disenfranchisements. Fruckin’ dastards! I think it’s time to get goin’ again!

Bella Mia doesn’t mention the children abused and murdered under the influence of alcohol does she? I’m sure the figures are off the wall. I suspect any figures she does have , as to marijuanna and violence, would do well to investigate if the marijuanna was laced with alcohol. Well her character, I think, does not like dissonance as a tool for thinking and broading her horizon. So maybe the kind thing we can do is to not donga the Bella any mora.

It's been 19 years since the protests in Tiananmen Square. What do you think about China today?

Mugsey, I assumed you read well. Obviously you do not. And I won’t play into your wrenching into a discussion with what appears to be the sole purpose to take center stage and divide. Your argument is not only weak, from poor readability or poor intention —but quite disgusting to see how you have taken it upon yourself to twist meaning to blanket your lack of self esteme. I’m sorry there is so little meaning to your life and such a need to fill your ego that you would, as a woman (assumed) of mature years (assumed) and twist a converstaion and the nuances of cross cultural communication difficulties into a Pandora’s Box of social and cross cultural tantruming. Nasty game. The mistakes in communication were made by you, intentionally. The insinuations you make are sinister and your posturing immature, and I would include silly were it not so sinister. You think we are each special? Get off it ole lady. You don’t know me and I’d prefer people like you didn’t think me special. It is difficult enough to be dealing with a converstaion where the other part may be ‘in character’ only in cyberspace, and still try to make some universal points that can serve conversation, thinking, and some cross cultural myths. I’ve seen you do this throughout my time on this website several times. You don’t intend to create conversation or to intelligently participate, —you intend to create barriors based on your sense of inferiority of your self. What you’ve created is not a forked tongue, but a multipronged tongue. You bring to this website the immature self-serving behaviors and certainly stifling creativity of a person who is smart enough to recognize her lack of intellect and tries to piece together a fake with snot, —instead of creating one’s own by study. You can be found over and over in any five and dime chat room on the web of trailor park intellects tryin’ to be 5th Avenue. It may be that ‘Lin Si’ really lives in Queens and is really female and not male and is just a fake character period. The language patterns of the character are inconsistant. And I hardly think that a Chinese is North East China (near Korea) is on this website speaking as the character does. But you? A very minor character as to the feminine intelligence and conversation. Aside from being illiterate , you are carrying along with you a very nasty, bitter, and naughty little girl, —that ought to be sent to her room. People games can’t be played with less than two. I choose to not play. End of game. .

Oh Bella oh Bella oh Bella, whatda we gonna do about you? Studies also show lower performance of too much T.V., too much Cyber dust, too much Video, to much poor nutrtion, too much psychological or physical abuse, to much alcohol, and yada yada. Get the clue? TOO MUCH. I remember in my 40’s meeting a man in Kennebunkport Maine. Wealthy man and private schools and all when he was young. And he laughed about the youth trying marijuanna these days thinking they were the first. He told stories of how he and his peers smoked pot in the early 1900’s! I told my Mom about it and she laughed and said sure. The difference? It wasn’t for sale by crooks and officials, cops, and legislators on the take. Pot was actually intended, on the streets I suspect, to take out the Black Males, put ‘em in jail, and rig the voting. Now agri-pharms are takin’ everyone out in food, medicine, and tech toys. Bella you’re thinkin’ with your analytical part of your brain and the part that takes secondary information as the fact and truth. Just go back and get pictures of life as you saw it unfold, and use common sense which is the wisdom from that trip. I use grass a couple times a year. A friend and regular moderate user stops by for dinner and conversation Spring and Autumn and leaves me a bud or two. I know I can trust him. I changed his diapers years and years ago, as his Mom’s friend hekp;in’ out between two births 9 mo. apart! I don’t partake with him. I save it. He gave me a pretty glass pipe and I have it in a pretty jewlery box in a pretty container wrapped in a pretty silk cloth. A bud will last me months! One taste and I’m good for about 3 to 4 hours. I never watch T.V. then. It is music, working with plants, cooking, looking at picture albums, or just sittin’ at my cottage windows and lookin’ out at the trees and birds and listen to the sounds and watch the sights and I am totally in the present. Totally. And this is what I like. All ego gone and just Being. It’s better than a two week hectic vacation. I am totally on the Playfield of Mind. Still it isn’t so much that I can’t snap right out for some emergency. I don’t drive or even partake anyplace aside from the privacy of my home. I don’t drink. I think I’m allergic to alcohol. Too bad, I’d love the play of different grapes of different wines I think. I like thew idea of it. But I cna’t drink. Different strokes for different folks and different physiologies I guess. I support home grown, illegal to sell, or TAX. This is how the big boys get in a mess it all up to health danger and big profits. My gawd it’s an herb! I’m not sayin’ to light up, that’s up to you. I do say lighten up! And if you have someone you care about suffering from the effects of chemo or has chronic pain and they are taking harsh drugs for these, talk to them about trying marijuana instead in appropriate dose and appropriate delivery.

'wOw Friend' Diane Dimond: In My Constitutionally Protected Opinion, Anthony Pellicano Is Guilty

I agree with Mugsey as to what important news should be and that we don’t get. However, I think the ‘story’ here is how easily each of us can be listened to and not even know it. It has been going on big time in the U.S.of A. since the 60’s and Nam. I myself have been listened to trying to be a good citizen , gratis, preparing a federal court case for a family applying for political asylum. I’ve simply gotten so I don’t care anymore. For awhile I was afraid of what I would say on the phone or write on the net, no more. I’m just not afraid anymore. But I’m sure there are a lot of people sufferin’ greatly from this breach of privacy, by anyone who has the money or political power. This is the ‘story’ I think.

Today is Earth Day! What's the most wasteful thing that you do?

Mugsey, yess! The re-soled shoes! We were 3 generations in a 3 bed. one bath house with a den livingroom dining rommom and kitchen. The den was used also for my kid brother’s bedroom. Gramps was the Elder and he was like Uncle Bub on My Three Sons. Did everything. We had a pair of keds each summer for play. We had a pair of dress shoes, cheap because we outgrew, and we had our leather school shoes of good quality. The sole would come off a bit and the shoe came off and down to the cellar on gramp’s vice where he shaved or filed and glued and it sat overnight and ready to go for the mornin’! He put on new heels also. Then the shoes when outgrown went to a younger relative or a neighbor kid. You are right, nothing was wasted. Wants cost too much and needs cost enough. Pop was only on a weekend day and not every weekend. Had to be a special occassion. Snacks were popcorn, or cherrios tossed w some melted butter and salt and put on a cookie sheet in the oven to get crisp. Weekends also. Daily after school snacks were dried apricots or prunes gramps boiled up or a molasses or applesauce cookie. That was it. 3 meals with dessert in the evening and i snack a day! I never remember asking for more. I remember hurrying so I could get back outside to play with the neighbor kids, winter, spring, summer, and fall, and even in the rain on a hot summer day if there was no lightning! Anyway. Plastic bottles everyone should just get rid of for gawds sake. If you still need to be bottle fed get a thermos! Create Savings business if you are retired or outta work. Collect used things from trash day and sell for little, or fix up and sell for more. Take that SUV you’re stuck with a start a taxi service to work places or shopping where you carry a few people. There is nothin’, hear me? Nothin’ —like your imagination! Mugsey, yah, the polishin’ of shoes. Loved the smell of that shoe polish. This was our Sunday night job after we came in from playin’ —shoe polishin’ and bath! During the week it was sink baths. And you had to fill the bowl and put a plug in it, no wastin’ And you know, we were never sick.
