My Comments (173 so far…)

It's been 19 years since the protests in Tiananmen Square. What do you think about China today?

Lin Si you can begin with the book I suggested. As I said he is considered the greatest scholar on Tibet in the West. He’s a Brit or Aussie. I can’t remember. I live on the border of Canada and the U.S. I can get Canadian news. In fact Canada has wonderful news stations, programs, and documentaries. Much better than here in the States except for our Public Channel. Anyway I was shocked to find out things about the United States that wasn’t being reported on our own news! Not nasty talk, just factual news. So I became aware we don’t always get the news we should. My point is you don’t always get the news you should as the people of a country. This means you must find safe ways to gather news and facts. Tibet and her wanting independence/autonomy is not new here. U.S.A.ans and Europeans have been demonstrating, writing letters, and protesting the treatment of Tibet and Tibetans for well over 25 years here. At least this is when I became aware. Of course this is also about the time that global travel and communications became more affordable, so we could become more informed. Pictures, video movie, and personal testimonies were abundant of the atrosities to the Tibetans and the Tibetan clergy of men and women, at the Chinese soldiers’ hands. The stories are still coming out of social and economic and educational injustice in Tibet by the Chinese officials amd I’m sorry to inform you also accidental deaths, unfortunate accidents, imprisonments of the political laogui style and beatings of citizens, without legal representation. Have you Lin Si ever thought of googling Amnesty International? Can you from China even? I won’t speak too much to China’s imprisonments of it’s own people because we have more in prison even! Shameful, and U>S>A>ans are just beginning to become informed on this also and writing letters and forming organizations to stop it. Lin Si I’m sure you saw the photos of the torture by the U.S. soldiers of the Iraq people, yes? I’m sure your government showed those, haha. Good humor is one thing the Chinese and U.S.A.ans have in common. Hopefully it will help! Anyway when the U.S.A.ans saw those pictures they were absolutley shocked and sickened. People were actually physically sick over this. If it were not for private people, citizens, and yes our good soldiers takin’ pictures with the inexpensive tools we can now all have —we would have never known about this. The government would have never showed us these pictures or told us about this. To this day our government does not know how deeply this affected the spirit and the trust of our people as to HOW we do battle. This said and admitting our grief of our ‘battle’ behaviors let me use this as an example of how we know about Tibet. Same way. Journalists from around the world getting into Tibet (not easy, even with the new railway) with hidden cameras, at great personal risk. Also Tibetans themselves that somehow got little cameras and were able to document. Any of it propaganda? Probably. But propaganda or not there are big big human rights abuses in Tibet. We the People mostly aren’t political. Nasty business. However, most of the things that affect the people as to quality of life happen to be ‘managed’ by the political system of bureaucracy and who better understands this dilemma better than the Chinese, haha? This is why I say it is about We the Everyday People of the World that must dig and search and study. This is People taking the responsibility to be a democracy whether our governments are or not. We may not like someone, or want them next door, or have our daughter or son marry them, BUT, I think most of the people of the world want everyone to have the same justice and opportunity for job, food, water, shelter, freedom of responsible expression in speech and print and the arts, yes? The Dragon and the Eagle must find a middle road to meet on many topics so we can look down to both ends and see, really see. As soldiers ourselves of the right behaviors might for the right reasons think about what China’s Sun Tzu said: ” The clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not allow the enemy’s will to be imposed on him.” And Lin Si isn’t the enemy anything and anyone that prevents We the People of the World from having a safe place, adequate shelter, food, water, employment, free responsible expression, and the right for representation in the courts? Oh and CHOCOLATE! Lin Si I wasn’t in China for 12 years or ever. I sponsored a young Chinese family from China. A mothrer, father, and 6 yr. old son. They were agricultural scholars in research and field work. I did the paper work, found the man and woman good jobs, taught the English and acculturalized this family. We wre together for 12 years until the darling boy grew up and graduated from H.S. with honors and is now at University. They had no English. They came in the late 80’s and China was at the point of pullin’ up it’s boot straps to modernize. This was a professional family and as everyone they suffered greatly during the cultural revolution. I’ve had to my home and my table many people from China. Visiting scholars and engineers of all types. They want to see the old lady that can beat the Chinese in Ping Pong! Haha, this is true. So you must realize I love the Chinese very much and very deeply. Thus, my worry about how the people in a country with an ‘iron hand’ government will, on their own, as part of the human family, practice an appropriate form of democracy. The world is a mess. We westerners have used up, unknowingly, more than our share of resources. We feel bad about this. A lot of stuff has to be done. If we all depend on all our governments we will lose. For us to win I think we must understand that just the nature of government isn’t so good but somehow necessary. You know your government and officials and now business people are greatly corrupted. We the People here know this about ours also. We the People of Briton, France, Germany, etc. all know. We the People all over the Planet are trying to do the right thing. So to be defensive about your government doesn’t help us help you or you to help us. Are you understanding my intent? We are each the center of the Universe, yes? And we each have a responsibility to it, you agree? And if we have great numbers of We the People of the World with the right intentions and the right study, might we not win?

Today is Earth Day! What's the most wasteful thing that you do?

Ki B, yes, I’ve wondered about working and being green or having a growing family and being green. Tuff. But maybe only at the beginning. *Unplugging all the electric not only saves your bill it saves electricity, thus coal burning, thus greenhouse gas. Anyone noticing how much warmer the nights are? There have been a few times our overnights here in the Great Lakes region NYS, Niagara Region, are as high or go higher than day time! *Unplugging electric can be easier if you use the power strip and buy the clocks you don’t plug in *Unplugging your computer and printer and TV not only saves electricity and coal burning, but also nastly leakage of stuff you haven’t a clue to *I will not buy into the Al Gore/Bill Clinton etc. squiggley light bulb. Damn they are full of mercury and we outlawed them in the 60’s, Come on! What I have done tho is I have one 60 watt over my sink. Over my stove 40 Watt. By my reading 40 watt. Everything else is 15 to 20 watts and not a light is on I’m not specifically using. This was hard. Not the pullin’, but not having everylight on. I was a light person, inside and out. But I’ve changed my behavior if not my desire! Light is Christian! Haha. I think we need to think less rather than the new thing to supposedly get less, for less. We need to use the least we can and still maintain ourselves. *I never did get into the water bottle thing. Weened once a long time ago. I don’t get into fads really. I do boil all my water for 12 min. A dear Chinese friend from China and a research agronomist told me that it really takes 12 minutes of boiling to do the trick. I use this for ice cube trays and all drinking and any cooking that needs water that won’t cook for a long time. I trust myself with purity more than a company out making a buck on consumers rather than customers. *Plastic. Never did get it. To me anything that changes the way it looks after you hold it to the light like plastic does after use can’t be good. *Non-stick cookware and the plastic utensils I never got this either. High heat and the chemicals change and the tool starts gettin’ rounded corners? Hummm, where’s the edges? Tummy. *Toilet tissue. My gawd tuffin’ up! Get rid of the Princess and the Pea egoette! Scot, Scot, Scot, every plumber will tell you. One ply! White not color. Scot toilet tissue is also my nose blowin’ tool as I’ve got it all figured out the nose tissue companies probably put stuff in that cause you to run, sneeze, and cough. *I am amazed I cut out the paper towels so easily. I make home made french fries about 3 times a year to baby myself. By golly I was into and thought oh gawd no paper towels. I had 3 brown paper supermarket bags. I cut some off and drained my fries. As good, nope, but gooda ‘nough. For the working away from home amnd still raising family: I think thinking in systems theory and using everyone in the whole family to help is a good thing. Really we are talking about going back to pre 1960. This is when all these ‘products’ began coming in. *Gardens. Heyyy the ‘Victory Garden’ again. I think so. The pollinatin’ insects disappearin’ from the big agri pharms, the grain goin’ to cars, the draughts, too much rain, fire, winds, floods? Prices and food availability is gonna go off the wall. Remeber, right now i in 6 on the planet is sufferin’ either food or water shortage or both. Think about it. But gawd start small 20 X 20 maybe. Beans, peas, and tomatoes to can in Mayo jars. Grow squash, potatoes, onions, carrots, parsnips and dig a root cellar below the frost line and store for over winter. Find a local apple farm and put up applesauce. I had a friend who had 5 kids and she and her husband worked full time. Evenings and weekends in August and Sept. here in the Northeast, they all were canning. What we can save and do for ourselves and teach this to our children and grandchilden is what we can best share with others, —that we don’t use because we don’t need to. I have become, as the former Queen of Waste, unbelievably aware of the fact that we can really never throw anything away. Nothing on the Earth can be thrown away. Nothing. My heart, full of compassion goes out to those of you who just haven’t internalized the seriousness of this yet. Sure took me long enough. And I thought I was quick. But I’ll say this, I think woman’s type of fire intelligence will come up with some wonderful resourceful creative ways to manage. And isn’t this what we’re really talkin’ about, —planeary manangement of our resources from home? And isn’t home what we’re really about? And isn’t home where the first and best medicine is and the pharmaceutical food and drugs where we have failed the ‘at home’ course? Merriam Hubbard the daughter of Alice and Elbert Hubbard of the Roycroft Industries Hubbards said on Main St. in East Aurora, Ny about 25 years ago. She was in her 80s then and still drivin’ her little red veggie truck to the village to sell her wares to the community, and a friend of mine was talkin’ to her and finally siad, “Well Merrium I better get goin’ I’m keepin’ you from your work.” And Merrium said, “Oh, a little bit here and a little bit there and the work will get done.” Heyyy.

It's been 19 years since the protests in Tiananmen Square. What do you think about China today?

Lin Si China won’t let go of TIBET and it’s neighboring Muslim country is because like all other bully countries like ours, it is taking the natural resources of the people and subordinating the traditional people. Your country politics is doing the same thing as the rest of the G-8. What I’m trying to get across to you it is the We The People of the Wold, the everyday people, —to stop such nonsense. Oh I can hear okay, thank you, so you don’t need to stand up and shout with capital letters. Might I add that a good balance of sensitive and sensible is a good rule, you agree? I would like to chat again after you’ve read TIBET< TIBET, and I certainly would check into any books you suggest I read if they are available here and in English. But do calm down Lin Si, this is converstion and exchange, not battle. Remember that old old Chinese saying, at least in the Guangxi Prov., “Chinese man live to be 100 years, but worry for 1000 years!” Don’t worry, be Happy, Act.

Today is Earth Day! What's the most wasteful thing that you do?

One in about every 6 people on the planet are suffering hunger or thirst or both because of mostly corporate induced planet management for their shareholders bottom line. I am listening, because it is creeping, as any disease does unless checked. And I wonder in listening to many of you —if you’re listening? I used to be a terrible waster. Just terrible. Now I hopefully have it down to just water. I use too much water and I’m workin’ on solutions. But things I have done might be of use to others and I’ll list them: *Wash my hair 2 times a week only. *Dry towels, washcloths, dishtowels folded over my shower bar. *Dry jeans, sweats, turtle necks on a rack. *Soak clothes in a large pail (Chinese Duck Sauce Restaurant size) like underware and table napkins and pillow cases and cut my wash time on washer down. *In squirt and/or spray bottles I have: at my kitchen and 2 bathroom sink areas: 1/3 bleach with the rest water. 1/3 dishsoap and the rest water. 1/3 vinegar and the rest water. 1/3 Murphy’s Oil soap and the rest water. These are all the cleaning products I need. Oh a container of comet. The sanitary is in the rinse. If you don’t rinse you just build up bacteria over some product! *Rip all my paper products before they go into trash container. I wash them also. For one person I put 1/3 container of trash out once a week the size of the normal kit. size waste basket. *I shop once every two weeks and go to the library at the same time on the same road and I shop food and grocery products. I do no recreational or wants shopping. Got it all down to needs. I do this on about $120 per mo. I use no bag, box, or frozen foods except plain froz. veg. and few canned aside tomato products. I cook from scratch and use no seasoning in bottle or package. *I rinse out coffee filters with real hot water and reuse many many times. *I use no paper towels but rather white rags I make from worn out things *I don’t need to drive to work so I limit myself on $15 per mo. for gas, and adjust my drive time. I don’t plant annuals because they need a lot of water. Perrenials only that adapt well to climate changes as to a bit o draught or too much rain. *I wash windows with my rags and water and a skinch of vinegar. *I do not buy fresh veg. or fruit except those things from my home area that save well naturally over winter: I’m also in W.N.Y. I buy squash, apples, pears, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, cabbage…those things that local farmers can store well over the winter. I try not to buy foods that have to travel great distances. I hardly think they are fresh! Thus green beans, spinach etc. I buy frozen without additives. If God wanted me to have an orange everyday he woulda put an orange tree in my yard. I eat local foods assuming the Godness knew what it was doin’. Same with vitamins. Never had one. I make my own juices from water boiled 12 min. and fresh blueberries or rasp. or straw.or grapes, and freeze. I use no make up at home unless company is coming. *Everything I have that is electric is unplugged except for my frig. and hot water tank. I plug in when I use. *I do not use microwave: kills the enzymes in food which are the foundation nutrients for our immune systems. *I don’t use a cell phone. *I carry homemade cotton big strong material bags for my shopping *I don’t use bottled water, I boil my own for 12 minutes and put in a frig, container. *I do not drink carbonated drinks I’m pretty much down to usin’ way too much water, which is probably the worst of all! I’m trying. I know this is all real, I’ve seen the differences in the earth and so so fast! But I live in the country and not in a concrete and marble and blacktop covered city —so the changes are more obvious. Oh, I buy only from local owned shops. Never a big box or Mall or ebay. I’m amazed at how much lighter life is when wants are gone and only needs become the real wants. With all the information out on environmental attacks from the corporations with political help and all the education and the educated —I am shocked at the stuff supposedly smart people will use that can build up in their bodies. Especially we women, and why I ask? Why?

It's been 19 years since the protests in Tiananmen Square. What do you think about China today?

Lin Si you are asking me to present my evidence of over about 20 years! You seem to think that you are free. So I suggest you go to the U.S. Library System and write in TIBET, and begin reading. I suggested as to what is one of the best books, 2 times, and you don’t mention. Or do you just want to read one side? I have not gotten any of my information on the net as to Tibet. I use the library system and watch many documentaries of people who have gotten inside Tibet to get the story. This has been over many years. I also have Tibetan friends with extended families as well as other Tibetan friends I’ve been introduced to —and I’ve asked the questions and I’ve listened to the stories. You still have not answered my question. I’ll ask it for the 3rd time: Why is it Lin Si that China today, such a large country, needs to possess Tiawan and Tibet? Linda Clarke. The Chinese language to English vowel system, at least 30 to 40 years old I think would take Xie Xie to Si Si. Most Chinese languaged people, savvy in English also, use this system to communicate. And Lin Si, I question your authority as just a ‘regular’ Chinese citizen in China. You certainly carry a very ‘political’ perspective rather than a ‘human family’ desire away from myths and towards truths, cooperatively.

And an interesting point to ponder: All this has happened with the onset of the specialist. The pediatrician, the psychologist, the Phyd. and educational specialists, the special trained local police (militant), statitions and speculators, —all of which we pay for and get nothing except a continous degradation of a smart, safe, and healthy society. FOLLOW THE MONEY. My gawd folks, wake up from your stupor! Act. Be a verb.

It Happened Last Night: Can That Be Cannabis?

Instead of yapping so much about marijuana as a herb with relaxing and pain killing qualities that the Godness provided the original seed for, it might be more beneficial to personal and global health to become savvy on the chemicals going into your body and building up over time and being passed through the recent generations causing the U.S.A.ans to be 37th in global health, 49th in literacy, 30% not grad. fr. H.S., 31 st in life span, 28th in infant mortality and we have childhood disease like never before in our history and early onset of adult disease and the pharmaceuticals predict this middle age adult population to be the first to not live longer than their parents: your hair products, toothpaste and mouthwash, deoderant and body creams, chemicals in your fire safe and no iron clothes, drapes, bedding, plastics period, nonstick cookware, carbonated drinks, corn syrup, ‘natural’ additives to food products, corporate ‘fortifications’ to foods, genetic engineering to foods for corporate profit, feeding animals to sell fat rather than their natural foods, boxed and bagged foods, frozen main course foods, home and office cleaning products. Have you looked up all those ingredients listed on these items. And I wonder at this point of build up over the last 30 years if Mother’s Milk is anymore safe? How much more stupid can we get? Lipstick, perfume, eye make up, and it goes on and on and Woman’s health is much worse than mens’ for the first time. Women wear all the make up and use the most shampoo and do all the cleaning. Gawd and we’re hagglin’ over a seed the Godness planted and it’s effects? And whatabout all those over the counter and scripts in the medicine cabinet? I was in my 20’s before I’d had an asprin for gawdsake. Cancer and autism and alzheimers were real real low 50 years ago and most didn’t even know anyone with these things. Asthma and food allergies? Gawd gawd. And anorexia and bulemia? Hey read about it in books only about very wealthy girls. We went from knowing how to take care of ourselves to victims to the corporate and political market in just about 40 years, the same length of time it’s taken to take out the bees and other polinating insects. Gawd gawd. And should we now discuss whether the Obama’s are elitist or not? My gawd my gawd. Talk about Holocaust. We’re all bein’ takin’ out. What did I hear on T.V. this a.m. that a scientist stated: We’re the only rich 3rd world country as to our health. I grew up to middle age when we were # 1 in everything. I don’t need to be # 1 in everything. But by golly our overall score as to the world’s Nations in everything, health, education, wealth, yada yada — is 27! Gawd gawd. Am I selfish or a cockeyed optimist to expect maybe something between 5 and 10?

Ms Oliver: 1 joint is hardly moderation. What is equivilant to a normal ‘joint’ should be about a week’s worth, if not more, of the ‘bud’ if used for recreation or laid backness only.

Change the World

Ria, sure why not? We even accept ambidextrous Jews. Why does someone even have to ask such a question? Is this like me askin’ if 5 foot Episcopalans are accepted? Or 6’ vegetarians? Huh? Does it matter? Where you comin’ from anyway?

What do men not know about women?

Crack Emcee, the New Age Movement and much of the Femnist Movement are places little girls went to try and become Women, —rather than use their brains and study and put the results into the world. True spirituality is simply ‘being of use’ to other than your own ego. But Crack Emcee haven’t you done the same thing, differently? Studying ‘egonomics’?

It's been 19 years since the protests in Tiananmen Square. What do you think about China today?

Stella Lei, you certainly have a propaganda view of Tibet. Yes, there was corruption within the religion, but hardly close to what you state, and not nearly as bad as in China even today. China is ‘managing’ Tibet by emigration. They have flooded Tibet with Chinese people to dilute the culture. Shops and skills and professions of any quality are owned and operated by the Chinese. Tibetans have almost no rights to education, decent shelter, or medical care. The Tibetans famous for barley have almost no barley fields anymore as the Chinese used the land for other uses in agri to meet their own needs. Young Tibetan girls and young women are used as prostitutes for the Chinese men. The Chinese in Tibet have served the Chinese agenda only. The point is like Iraq or Afghanistan or anyplace else they should be allowed to govern themselves if this is what they wish as long as they are not hurting other people. If a country wants to be born and managed as to religion, fine, as long as they don’t force it upon others. If a country wants to be a democracy, fine as long as they don’t forxce it on others. To our Chinese friends here as well as presently in China —you need to understand it is the We The People of the world that must manage our governments morally or the sky is going to fall on all of us. Having taught English as a second language to mainland Chinese in the late 80’s and the 90’s and having lived within a Chinese culture for 12 years and understand the language acquition of English spoken and written, I’m not convined that Lin Si is from China at all, presently. Patterns are not fitting together for a Chinese living in China and learning English there. However, China is an important topic because the Chinese and the rest of the world have myths about one another that are not true. And to build a safe world for all the people rather than for corrupt governments and corporations isn’t the effort to understand one another worth the struggle? I’ve heard the stories from my mainland adopted Chinese family: The Tibetans are lazy and dirty. Their view were so closed they missed out on the opportunity to enjoy my Tibetan friends. Wouldn’t even go to their home: Dirty dirty, they were sure. To compare California to Tibet is silly. California was over 200 years ago when there were no means for communication and fast travel for the people of our country to see what is going on. As I stated before Iraq and Viet Nam are examples of modern times that U.S.A.ans do have the means and call their government to responsibility. Tibet and Tiawan are today. Iraq and Afghanistan are today. Because of communication tools and search abilities, —We The People of The World can say, STOP For Mr. WU to mention the Rape of Nanking as being a terrible thing, is true, by the hands of Japanese. What the mainland Chinese need to know is the Chinese did the very same behavior in Tibet! And the Chinese well know what the Japanese did in China! Do I need to say more? Your government has and is doing the same thing in Tibet! And those calling themselves Chinese didn’t answer my earlier question. Why is it do you think, that today and the great size of China, they need to also possess Tiawan and Tibet? As to the new found quick wealth in China and many Chinese getting very rich fast and many many more becoming terribly impoverished (as here also) remember your Buddhist’s roots: Everything is temporary. This also will pass. Be honest China wants Tibet for it’s natural resources. Took their forests and want their many minerals. The everyday Chinese people need to understand their govt. is just as crooked as any other and will use who they have to in order to get what they want for themselves. It is up to the new Chinese mainland people to make sure your country is doing the right thing by your own people and other people. If you don’t and bad times come you could end up as when Mao reigned, again. Tibetans are not Chinese and I’ve never seen a Tibetan who looked like a Chinese. They seem to have more Semetic or Med. attributes than Asian. Chinese need to get over themselves! Like we have had to do. You are not the center of the Universe, we all are. Whomever mentioned Divide and Conquer as being European is not correct. Divide and Conquer, Promise and Delay among many others are ancient Chinese warring strategies. For Chinese who want to read more as to Tibet I suggest the book: TIBET, TIBET by Patrick French. The sautor is either a Brit or Aussie. Can’t remember which, and is considered as one of the World’s best scholars on Tibet. Again I think China today is the same as China of the T. Square time, politically. And if U.S.A.ans want to see what we look like to others when we are accused of being arrogant —just look East to the ‘new’ Chinese leadership. And if we want to look to see what we look like when accused by others of being decadant and shallow, just look East. Unfortunately the ‘new Chinese’ that are making a buck are as obnoxious as we are. I had hoped for so much more.

Merrie you are really wrong dear. I’d wait that case out in Italy if I were you for complete lab work and decisions, yada yada. In 25 years I’ve never seen anyone arrogant or ill tempered on ‘grass’ unless mixed with alcohol or something else. Having the wrong information doesn’t help us in anything. GINGER, if you smoke pot all day you are taking into your lungs many times more than what a smoker of cigarettes does. Bad idea. Moderation. You may think you are altogether but I wonder about those who love you? If they are concerned. Smoking pot all day is the same as drinking alcohol all day. Tunin’ in to tune out, is escape. Tunin’ out to tune in is reflection and relaxation. Bella Mia. God what a great sound that name is! Alzheimer’s? I don’t think so. I’ve found Alzheimers to be in people who had a one track life. By this I mean a doctor who did nothing else. A Mom who didn’t have anything to do after the kids grew up. Several olders after hospital stay and bein’ given Haldol or some psychotropic drug to manage behavior through a broken hip (so they don’t pull needle out type thing). And now the disease is down to 35 year olds gettin’ it. Need to look at food and parms & technology as the cause. Better to look at environment and observe. It’s a better scientist than people who use science for corporate greed. If grass were legal, not allowed to be sold, grown at home, you’d have a harmless herb aside of a bit o cat nip for adults. Also marijuana is a serious pain reliever as an herb without a whole bunch of pharms and chem added to it. And it would be a much healthier tool for cancer recovers comin’ off chemo ill affects. When we propagandize a thing we don’t get a chance to find out the good things. Grass like alcohol or jogging in traffic or a few cans of carbonated drinks per day can become a bad habit when not used in moderation. Alcohol, pharmaceuticals (steroids, mood or psychotropic) can facilitate people becoming literally ‘out of their minds’, and I suspect this may be true of cyber dust also from children and too many years in front of a P/C screen. The idea that grass is illegal is political. If used moderately and homegrown and not tampered with by big dealers is probably the safest of all drug categories. As probably was grampa’s moonshine before it got political and corporations wanted to take it over addin’ a bunch of stuff. Think. To use pot as one would a glass of wine each day or a few times a week is no problem.

What do men not know about women?

I think what men don’t know about women is we don’t have a clue as to who we are on a deep level or what we’re really supposed to be about. Helllllpppp. You guys are good at takin’ stuff apart and puttin’ it back together again in better condition!

What do men not know about women?

From the reward you got that day? Look guys a reward on your head!!!!!!!! Just couldn’t let this slip by. Reward for the day, indeed. Well are we really any closer to answering the question at hand? “Reward that you got that day.” Yup, quote of the week from the ‘woman’ of the day’ passin’ out sticky gold stars.

It's been 19 years since the protests in Tiananmen Square. What do you think about China today?

I actually have original Chinese Art in my home as to paintings, caligraphy, and porclein. I have quite a bit of jade. I have 8 pairs of silver chop sticks and 6 other pair of fancy ones. All given to me by Chinese friends, including pieces of jewlrey from the autominous regins. Including Tibet. And I have several books on Chinese history and I have my own Chop also, and ink of course. I have the art brushes of varying styles. I have several friends very versed in Chinese history. It’s the politicians I worry about, and the corporations from both sides. But as to the Olympics I don’t think they should be boycotted. Too many hard workin’ and sacrificin’ athletes all over the world who deserve to perform without interference. After the closing ceremony if people and countries want to object with signs as to China’s unwillingness to go to the table —fine. I fear that China is just as capable today of another T-Square as they were in ‘88. Often with change nothing changes.
