What do you consider to be the new seven deadly sins?

Maggie D: Honey we just can’t get rid of ego. Ego is necessary in livin’ in the world. It begins at birth and is the mirror images of yourself you take in as to others impressions upon you. A whole bunch of masks. However if we can understand this on a deep level. Think about it. We can then decrease our need for out of date or inappropriate masks. The problem is, I think, is when we begin to believe our true being is these masks. Ego masks are necessary to get what we need from the world. Of late we seem to be usin’ them to get what we ‘think’ we want, rather than reason to what we need. And yes, the developed world suffers it deeply and malignantly, methinks. I liked the way ole Lee Iococa (Spellin’) in his 1st book defined ego as big ego and strong ego. He spoke of big ego as the arrogance and strong ego as doin’ the right and best work within the needed masks you wear to get it done. He was speakin’ of leadership in both govt. and industry. Industry? Is this still a word?

What do you consider to be the new seven deadly sins?

Dr. Klein, interestin’. Now do you really believe that outlivin’ your money is a deadly sin? And if so Who is the sinner? Hum? Or was this simply a Kleinien slip of a personal fear?

SHIRLEY? Someone actually make the statement that poor spellin’ was a syndome of the poor? My gawd my gawd, stupidity is worse than a deep rooted fast spreadin’ weed ain’t it? Yes Shirley, more often than not the poor represent what the Corpies have chosen to disenfranchise, one way or another. And usually because they’ve changed the market of profit as well as the market place. But the propaganda of the politicos, social services, and certainly the corpies is that the poor are drunk, drugged, stupid, gun totin’, and lazy. This in truth is women of all colors as the greatest number of the poor followed by those of color. They disenfranchise those they fear the most, —that will call their hand of unprincipaled capitalism and unrepresentative government. And the elitist, in my opinion, is the person who believes the poor just aren’t up to par, so to speak. Within this group are probably some of our most intelligent people. But unprincipaled capitalism doesn’t want intelligence. They want Smart Drones and a Smart Drone knows who supplies the toys, right? I sometimes wonder if most of our impressions are actually wrong? Ya know, just plain wrong. Imagine anyone linking poor spellin’ with bein’ poor. Nelson Rockerfeller would have laughed his head off at that one! Such bias. What a spoiler bias has been for us. Lordy lordy.

Anyone who does not recognize Ms. Obama as a formible represenative of original Amer. values as well as possessing the talents herself to lead has got their head in a vacuum. Mrs. Roosevelt would have chuckled with joy at the strength and delivery of Ms Obama. She was capable of an intelligent sarcastic wit herself. But obviously there are some sorority sisters that she frightens, and maybe this is a good thing. Hey anyone see Hillary last night on C-SPAN? Best I’ve seen her. Excellent presentation I thought in a style that is really her and not what someone else tells her to be. All business and reporting and presenting information and her platform from A to Z. She fielded questions well and professionally. No politico barking, which I think she does poorly. She behaved as a savvy politician rather than a politico. I wish she would just ignore her competitors and just compete with herself to be at the best that is her and not worry about what her oponants are doing. Don’t waste the time she could be givin’ us needed information on trying to do a one upmanship with the others. Let them waste their time. I’d like to see her come out and say specifically, the system is broken and has been for several years and is deteriorating fast and then name exactly what she will facillitate to fix the structure and ethical management of the systems. After all it is the system that is the foundation which the socail and financial structure must ride on. She talked to us not at us in a slow, exact, easy, but straight manner. I liked it. If I had a criticism and of course I do because I’m still lookin’ them all over, —it is remarks that named Bush specifically. I’d rather see her rise above this and instead say the Republican Party or this administration or the neocons of the Republican Party. I think it so important someone take us above the sniping. It’s an unbelievable immatureness in the culture. I think many are tired of it also and we know the names of those exercisin’ the oligarch behaviors don’t we? I know Senator Clinton can lead the country and be very respected in the world. I’m still wrestling with trust of anyone who is a part of Washington. Another part of me wrestles with Senator Obama being able to lead and be his own person. I think he’s a good good person. But in my gut I wonder if he needs another 8 years of hands on experience to manage Washington and the World and the games that are played. I’d like McCain if he weren’t such a Hawk! Too hawky and too dovey frighten me. No question he is in the race and will be a powerful candidate. The good man of deeds for us and certainly accountability Ralph Nader is pollin’ at between 8 and 10%. This is sizable and increasin’. Interesting isn’t it? Especially seeing as he is doin’ it on the road, without any help from the in your face press, —aside C-SPAN. And I was happy when he became, again, a candidate. I felt a relief. Like if this ‘race’ becomes too race and genderized I still have another choice. I think he and McCain will get the votes of the moderates and independants who become weary of the mud slingin’ politics and the escaping of real issues and the pandering to the 18 and 19 yr. olds. Ahhh life!

Barbara Taylor, I suspect in watching this high priced circus for so many years now that no one really cares about the Children of Prince Charles and Princes Diana. It’s about what someone can drain from the thing I guess. Mr. Fayed it is RUMORED deals in arms deals. It was rumored that his son had substantial, within this business, power. It was also rumored that before he and the Princess got in the car he had been to a meeting on an arms deal. And it has been wondered if this had anything to do with the death accident of the two. I never heard anymore about it. It’s all silly I think. I think Prince Charles and the King and Queen have handled all this very well and the young men now Princes seem to do well with their family and Camilla as well. This makes a statement I think. I suspect they wish folk would just get on with reality, and the work of reality, and leave them alone.

Suzy De, thanks for the sites. I’m a big Bobby supporter! Good man. His Dad turned out to be also. Too bad we couldn’t see it through. HOLLAND: Thanks also. Found it. MAUREEN h: all issues are Women’s Issues don’t you think? Think of the home and your own community. Is there anything that is not a Woman’s Issue? I think what we need to understand is we are not taking our rightful place and the responsibility to do the job we’re capable of. It seems as if we are always waitin’ for permission. Whatdaya think? SUZANNE C: Lake Erie here for me, U.S. side. I think between you, and our Canadian cousin, and me we’ve, got the Lakes covered! To your statement as to Solar and grey weather. Yes, the Lakes does produce Grey. NanoScience has the research and first base development of a solar panel the size of our pinky fingernail. This nano solar panel can hold several times more energy than the large ones. The problem is storage of the energy for places like us and rainy days. They need money. Right now this is the greatest expense from my studies anyway, of solar technology. The govt. not doin’ much to help. Probably because they have their hands in the till of nuclear, wind, and corn energy and slippin’ it into their porfolios. Deals, ya know. We need to be sure and watch the Congress to make sure that policies and laws are NOT passed that stops the little man/ entrapreneur down home from gettin’ a piece of the pie. I hope for down home entrapreneurs to get together and pool monies and help the nanotechnolgy to reach ground zero for storage. Anyway there is this woman Physicist from Australia that Charlie had on about a year ago. She was adament against nuclear and carbon storage. I emailed Charlie askin’ for her back. Hey, ya never know! As to the plant energy: It takes something like a thousand tons of water to grow i ton of grain. This depletes not only the food source but also the water source when folk all over the world are already goin’ hungry and thirsty from lack of water. (Not to mention all the trees that were harvested for the multinats over the last 50 years messin’ up places like Bangledesh, our South West, and Africa. This is what man caused means! I have a problem with wantin’ to know if we can deplete the Sun even? But if money can be made truth won’t be told. BARBARA TAYLOR: this site belongs to the investors. It’s their baby. Anything we write is theirs I think. They own it. Now if they aren’t sharp enough to make a book outta it somehow, don’t feel sorry for them. Don’t we expect women to be smarter than this? I’m not gonna proof this. Apoligies ahead of time!

Frank I hear ya guy, I hear ya. How many folk remember or even know that Mother Tereasa died the same day as Britain’s bad girl/good girl Princess Diana? How little homage we have paid to a Woman who gave up of herself, so much. There’s a message here. There is something about that monument that reminds me of the golden calves. And Liz thanks for the tourist tips but I think I’ll skip Herrods thank you. Just somethin’ about that name, ya know?

Maureen H., good for you to exercize your responsible right of freedom by doin’ real research as to whom the candidates are about. It amazes me how many women in here have already made up their minds! And I don’t hear much about the reasons in bein’ on issues. What a disappointment. And the hidden jealousies and rage that not a one of the candidates has anything to do with. Alotta the girls seem to carryin’ around alotta garbage that shoulda been dumped a long time ago. The cats are spittin’. Seems they’ve been sharpenin’ their hissy, sissy, pissy claws on those steel zoo cages they’re in doesn’t it? And aren’t these nasty nasty cats? And I wonder, if they represent in their fancy growls and cat psychology, one of woman’s greatest weaknesses and dangers to the planet? Nothin’ they growl represents the craft of nurturin’ it seems, and seems to be alotta self grandizin’, and of course I know that is the Nature of cats, but golly these caged felines call it free speech! Without responsibility is anything really free? They think they are cute, clever, language skilled, and intelligent. Too much cat nip possibly? Delussional within their delussion? Call the Vet. Maybe their is an vaccine. Oh dear, changin’ the World might be a matter of several of our Sisters takin’ off their cat costumes and becomin’ real women again or maybe even for the first time. After all we are all over 40 in here aren’t we? Isn’t it time to get outta the middle school lavatory behaviors? Or maybe these nasties are infiltrators of a much much younger age. Imagine the degree of social stupidity to say that Ms. Obama isn’t showin’ gratitude. To whom I ask, for what I ask, and why I ask? There are too many people who have not internalized the danger we are in and how important it is to select a candidate based on adult behavior, which has little to do with age, but rather a placement of maturity and reason and logic that we squeeze inbetween our flaws to help manage civilazation. ‘Hillary is said to have said this or done that.’ ‘Michelle this or that.’ ‘Obama is siaid to have…’. ‘McCain too old.’ “Ralph a spoiler’. Infantile. Really infantile. Kid’s learnin’ bullyin’ from their mommas?

S. Conti, you mention the Boomers of the 60s. I have tried to develop some ‘copy’ that brings that back, without the success I want, —yet. Anyway I state they are all grown up, experienced, and wisened, and know how to use the techy tools for democracy. My unofficial title is Boomers, —Boomerang! I started this about two years ago but can’t get the handle on it I want. Maybe someone else can. If you remember the Boomers did not need one charismatic leader to follow. They saw themselves as both leaders and followers. For as young as they were they had a good balance of individual and group. This is especially important now I think. People need to learn they are each leader and follower, individual and group. I really don’t like the idea that the media and advertisin’ are portrayin’ the Boomers as spoiled and big money retirees who are just thinkin’ of what they can do for themselves. When you think back the Boomers were a global force. Just imagine with them all grown up now what havac they could make all over the world. It may be Boomers on the West and East coast are rich, fat, and self indulged. But inland this isn’t so. And when we speak to the power of solidariety, —the Boomers could pull it off. First thing that needs to be corrected is: Don’t listen to anyone under 40! We laugh but think of the power of that statement of ‘don’t trust anyone over 30’. That was a really stupid one. The corpies and politicos picked right up on it didn’t they? This statement with their sleight of hand created the first ever division between the Elders of our culture and morphed them into people to be afraid of for wrinkle and death. Of late, as a Kennedy Kid, I realize that we and the Boomers have had sort of a Post Tramatic Syndrome for decades as the first generation to witness the brutal and certainly political deaths of Kennedy, King, and Kennedy, all displayed for us on the TV, in a free country during the first stages of our adult development. We mourned, it seems, for the Kennedys over and over and for Dr. Kings’ family, —but not for ourselves. We didn’t get ourselves through the grief stages. I see the Kennedy Kids and Boomers healin’ ourselves by goin’ forward to finish what we started. Gawd, just imagine it Suzanny! Just imagine it! Woodstock all over again at the Shuffleboard indoor arena! Haha. But imagine what could be done now with the internet and all the new techy tools used for the right purposes, —before the corps and politicos get in too much regulations for the purpose of profit and oppression! Just imagine. I still carry my tournament Frisbe in the back seat of my car! Hell, I’d drag my ‘piddle pads’ along and trek to Washington. But I think it can be done, what needs to be done, in more efficient and quicker ways than marchin’ to Washington. Altho it might be a great trip to do it just to thumb our noses and get our juices goin’! Gawd, I just never got past my idealistic stage. Ha ha and whoopie whoopie, —but girl on the Playfield of My Mind, I play this out real real serious.

Change the World

Leslie. Wow. Good for you and your group! I tried to snag that site you gave for the petition but I couldn’t get there. I got a notice that the page couldn’t be displayed. Any ideas on how I can get there? Leslie it is the Nature, I suspect, of humans to ONLY care about themselves. So the trick I suppose for the myopic is to find ways to show them that hallowed respect and protection for their environment and others —really is about and for themselves in both the short and the long run. You go Woman!

Privacy: Is It Yours for the Taking?

It’s amazin’! I’m ancient, —an artifact. It seems folk are thinkin’ mostly of privacy as in relation to the internet and cell phone & techy relatives. True, sure. I don’t cell and I don’t buy or pay on the net. But when I think of privacy I think of bein’ able to go about my business unencumbered by annoyances to my physical activity movements. People are rude. There are those insecure folk who use a cell phone out in public and chat away as if they were a cheerleader with a megaphone so sure you are interested in what they are talkin’ about or tryin’ to prove to themselves through you how important they are. Nothin’ worse than gettin’ down the grocery aisle thinkin’ Mayo and hear some adult on a cell sayin’ ‘They don’t have it, whatdaya want me ta do?’ And I’ve some ideas I wanna shout out and I’m thinkin’ how loud I wanna shout it, and damn I get home and notice I forgot the Mayo. Breach of privacy. Just a bit o fun on the absolute rudeness of the public cell phone user. Hey, call your psychologist, he’ll be able to tell you what to do! But more serious are the preditors of the rich and famous who can’t walk down the street or even look out a window without a camera in their face, or live adults tryin’ to grab at them or stalk them. And there are folk who actually think because they make millions at their work —it’s to be expected? This is how we change the world? Maybe HRC is correct, in her campaigning, as she tries to explain there is more to change than change. We are in a society now, it seems, all dressed up and sophistigated —with less social rules and manners as to privacy and personal space as what aboriginal people had when they ducked outta the cave to hang their skins to dry. Civil society seems to have taken a sabatical, and it is quite a dangerous thing. Of course not for you or me until it happens I suppose, —and it will. One way or another. Invasion of a person’s privacy by the govt., business, or the hobbyist with their new camera toys —speaks to a lack of character and certainly a self esteme that has not been properly nurtured. When one is in public and so interested in their own gratification to overlook the personal and social rights of others, —bad times are here! And parents as to their children as if ‘their’ children were everyone’s joy! If your child can’t behave in a supermarket leave the kid home. If your child can’t behave on an airplane, keep the kid grounded. I have concern for parents that do not understand the importance of good social discipline as to their children and the public’s right to be able to do their social business without the bratty and spoiled behaviors of the kids. My gawd these poor kids will grow up spoiled and the same parents who spoiled them wouldn’t think of buyin’ spoilt meat! The respect of the ‘others’ privacy and personal space is a hallowed concept, because without it you have social disorder. And without social order, no matter how smart and dressed up we are, —we are not civilized. And to think that there are enough parents not doin’ good parentin’ that we may be the first of civilization to make laws pertainin’ to how we walk down the street, to allow us the right to privacy. Gawd gawd and the lawyers will prey!

Privacy: Is It Yours for the Taking?

If something doesn’t bring the culture up, meanin’ evolvin’ to become better, —there should be laws and policies against it. Real Law. Not lawyered swiss cheese law. Amazes me how the Godness got the necessary laws for civiliztion in simple words on a few stone tablets and it takes a lawyer from 400 to 1000 pages. Talk about a learnin’ disability. Anyway. We should be interested in people as to the work they do. Their private lives should be as they want it. To think that because one earns a few million justifies they are gettin’ what they asked for is quite quite shallow isn’t it? Unbelievable how what should be our personal rights are marketed right away from us. Of course as long as it’s someone else’s for our dysfunctional entertainment and nosiness, it is okay, I guess, or at least it seems this way doesn’t it? Well I guess it’s no difference than goin’ to the races hopin’, without mention. there’s a good crash. Just because we are flawed as humans, somehow, doesn’t mean we should call it normal, —and not bite our tongues and rise above it all. I agree with Candace, I think it was her, the celeb chasers are assholes, and I’ll add in need of a cleanin’ out enema. Such a wastin’ disease of lifin’. I’d die to keep my privacy. Who knows, I may have to. It’s a very immature structural develoment of personal psychology and social psychology to cockroach onto the privacy of others. Be Gone! Try to find a life of your own, —of worth.

If Senators Clinton, Obama and McCain were cars -- what would they be?

I Read the News Today, Oh Boy: Will Obama Prove Them Wrong?

Well it sure seems that most of the comments indicated problems with gender and race bias, —and how how subtle. Well I won’t judge. After all the bones of this ole crone sure don’t want a practicin’ opera singer livin’ next door to her. Oh the bones would moan! However, I do want bloated lungs to have all the rights and opportunities I have. Just on another block please. And isn’t this what it should be all about? Birds of the same feathers thing? But equal food, shelter, medical, and education for all of us differing birds? Not covertly distributed and ‘districted’ to the ‘corporate neighborhoods of all the towns and cities? As long as the corporations and politico and pseudo religionists can keep the divisions dividin’ in on themselves with concepts like race, gender, pro, anti, ‘illegals’, etc. —they keep the temporairly franchised from seein’ what’s really goin’ on and how the disease creeps up from the bottom takin’ layer by layer of those who would never look down for fear of fallin’ and when the 20 percentile on down finally feels loose footed, —they look down and see the foundation is gone. Whoops, no floor! Who’da thunk? And when we really think about it, it’s just a matter of physics I suppose, in relation to good masonry. Now who was hissin’? And about whom? Was it Hillary or Michelle or Barark, or Ole John? And was there, in the conversation, anything about Issues and Solutions? Has reason entered the conversation for logic to latch onto? Or is this politically incorrect, —especially for women? I think Leslie’s essay simply and intelligently raises the question of degrees of bias on all sides, and how easy it is to overlook our own. Ya know the Chinese look at the Moon and see a Lady standin’ by a tree and a Rabbit at her foot. Hard as I try I can’t find the tree, the lady, or the damn rabbit! Perception is a trickster monkey, methinks.

I Read the News Today, Oh Boy: Pot Shots at a Possible First Lady!

I think one thing that sabotages the credibility of women is the ‘Cat Talk’. Little kittens grow up to be big cats. To discuss an income as to a person’s capability to understand just is not a fact. Compassion does not necessarily mean you have to have ‘gone’ through it. Several in this discussion would have considered E. Roosevelt too rich to have understood folk of different financial circumstances. As to Ms Obama being accused of bein’ angry, —duh! Hello! Had I been born black I woulda been dead by the time I was 10 or old enough to understand the intended and brutal disenfranchisement of the African Americans and others of color. Anger morphed to action with Passion is a potent tool. Is it politically correct? Noooo. And why would this be I wonder? Why is anger (different than rage) considered politically incorrect? Is it possible this also is intended to keep good people down and the 1% way up? Oppression through repressed emotions ? I want an angry President by gawd. Damn angry. And if the spouse is also angry, that’s just fine I think. It’s how the anger is turned to a tool that is important. How can a good person with open eyes not be angry? And I wonder, why is it that women speak to ‘strong’ and the right to ‘speak’ in a world created by men —and when a strong woman stands up, —many of her Sister’s say, “you sit down!” in many many ways. Ms Obama came from a working blue collar family. Considerable sacrifice was made for her to flourish. A person who finds ways to overcome and comes back to help others and to speak the heart of others, even if it isn’t my heart, has my respect. Ms Obama is one of our best I think and the girl just don’t fool around with the superficial. Another good woman, I think, is that gal outta N.J. I think. She was head of the environmental agency for the present President. She’s angry also, —with facts, and she states them quite clearly. Do women move away from their Nature when they put themselves in a box of being a Republican, Democrat, Liberal, Conservative, Pro this or that? Does boxing ourselves in promote a kind of social and spiritual myopicness? I personally get so embarrassed when women attack on other than facts and/or collective issues. In fact, to be honest, it hurts my heart. And I think it hurts the heart of the Nation and the World. Ain’t it funny how women blast patraichary (see I can’t even spell it!) and yet fall into the traps of it creatin’ all kinds of divisions. And the last time I did division I’m pretty sure I came up with less. Bein’ an open mind is difficult because it requires so much cut and paste and delete and the eventual justification of dissonance. If we see there is a problem and to fix the problem don’t we also have to recognize how we contribute to the problem also, —before the problem can be truly and honestly fixed? I think, as women, we need to get real so we can get movin ’ in the right direction, —for all the right reasons. We don’t owe this task to just our ‘daughters’ for gawdsake. It’s our job to humanity, —and the excuses we find to shirk this, —tsk tsk.
