My Comments (609 so far…)

Who would you like to see Barack Obama choose for his vice-presidential running mate?

I agree with you Bonnie - someone that can be a true advisor rather than just a shadow.

Do you believe in reincarnation?

I believe that we come back to learn lessons that we need to learn. And obviously in my last life I was tall, beautiful, rich, and famous. Because I think that from my life so far I am suppose to learn how to be humble.

The wOw Cartoon of the Week: An Ageless Democracy

Frank - I agree with you. I am never a certain age in any one day. Always surprised to see the wrinkley lady in the mirror, amazed that I can still get on the floor and play hard with the boys, find myself creepy when I see a strutting young man and think ‘I could do THAT’. What is that old saying “Just stopped by to see what condition my condition was in”? I usually have to stop and think about what age I really am :)

What creates a sense of awe and mystery in your life and why?

Diana T - that was absolutely beautiful. As so true. I held my new granddaughter today (8 days old) and looked into her glossed-over eyes. How will she see the world? What will she become? How will I help or hinder her? Watching my baby hold her baby - made my heart almost stop. Had a horrible week last week and was having a pity party by myself. Tonight I can only laugh at myself because looking into those little eyes makes me believe that mankind can concur all the troubles of the world. Of course when she is two and breaks my favorite vase I will once again know that mankind doesn’t have a chance, but for the next two years I will just bask in the wonder and awe of new life.

What stories would you like future generations of friends and family to know about you and why?

I would like them to tell the future generation that I was an artist, poet, author, spiritualist, intellect. An artist for the beauty I created in giving birth, a poet by helping create the verses that became family sayings, an author for the words written on their souls that help them through dark times, a spiritualist for teaching them that there is more to life than themselves, and an intellect for teaching them that everyday is made for learning. I would also like them to remember how thankful I was for being given the gift of family. But what I am sure they will say to the future generation is: She was a crack-up, ‘cause my kids think I am crazy but lovable.

Here's Why Obama Owes Oprah One Million Thank Yous

I was just glad that, as usual, Oprah agreed with ME.

An Economy So Bad, Even Porn Isn't Selling, by Liz Peek

De Burca - of course it has to be ‘well done’. You don’t think a woman of my age and wisdom would show it all in a sleaze piece, do you. I have my reputation to think of.

Big Bad John by Judy Bachrach

Alessan O - the point I was trying to make is that we don’t know who was faithful and who was not. We just know the ones that were caught - I didn’t even have a thought as to which ones were best or worse. We don’t know what goes on behind closed doors - but I do wonder about the ones that were caught, how stupid can you be - you are living in a fish bowl and expect that you can get away with something like that. Makes you think they just really don’t give a damn. I would have a lot more respect for a man that said “Look, I screwed up, it’s between me and my wife, and this is what I plan to do for the country.” The rest just remind me of Jimmy Swaggard - cried because he was caught, not because of what he did. (IMHO)

'What if?'--Would Hillary Be the Nominee if Edwards Hadn't Lied About His Affair?

P.S.- I want to point out that I do not think that anyone’s sex life is important to anyone else. If JE was gay, celibate, had six wives, whatever - just be honest about it. I would be more apt to vote for a person who made a mistake and admitted it, then someone that was stupid enough to get caught.

Jonas Brothers' Mother Is as Squeaky-Clean as Her Sons

Won’t it be wonderful if we could see their daily events splashed all over the news; instead of Britney, Paris, and the rest of the troubled bunch? But it won’t happen - it isn’t titilating. Such a shame. Kudos to the parents and wish the boys all the success they deserve.

Big Bad John by Judy Bachrach

I think a truer version of this list would read: FDR - got caught JFK - got caught RFK - got caught Johnson - got caught Jimmy Carter - more honest than most Gart Hart - got caught Bill Clinton - got caught John Edwards - got caught Nixon - never got caught (doesn’t mean he did, doesn’t mean he didn’t - we just don’t know) Ford - never got caught (ditto) Reagon - never got caught (ditto) Bush 1 - never got caught (ditto) Bush 2 - never got caught (ditto)

'What if?'--Would Hillary Be the Nominee if Edwards Hadn't Lied About His Affair?

Was always taught that a person that would lie for you would lie to you. My point being is a liar is a liar. As much as I think Bill Clinton was a great president and did a lot of good for this country - it galls me that he is not only a liar but did his nasty little deed in MY OVAL OFFICE. It is no wonder that our kids cheat in school and have a ‘me, me, me’ attitude. What happened to the heros - the ones that were smart enough not to get caught. If JE is so stupid that he cannot keep an affair on the QT then he deserves what he gets. Clinton will always be remember for the cigar and dress, rather than the good he did. Now when we tell our children that they can grow up to be president do they think of all the good they can do for their country, or do they smile and think of all the things they can get away with. JE cheated on his wife, BC cheated on his wife, GWB cheated on his country. Aren’t there any honest people left???????????

Beijing, Day One: A Senseless Murder in the Midst of Celebration, by Junling Cui

Couldn’t sleep last night and caught the full opening act. I was in awe - it was one of the most breath taking things I have ever watched. It is horrible for the family and sad that it puts a pall on the event that so many people worked so hard to perfect.

If you had one million dollars to donate to charity, what cause would you support?

Grace - this is the only charity that I have donated to for years. I have never been to one of their services but have seen many good deeds done and half the time the people didn’t even know who was helping. Baskets of food left on porches and such. You never see money spent on advertising, director’s salaries, or the like. I truely feel that every dollar I have ever given goes to help someone. I got put off by the United Way back in the 80’s when I found out the director made $150,000 a year. Is that where my money was going? Made me stop and research any charity that I donate to.

wOw's Comments of the Week 8/2 - 8/8

Kitty - thanks. Humor is the only thing that keeps me going sometimes. Things, as always, are getting better.
