I wish the whole shooting match was over, and we actually had a person living at 1600 Pennsylvania who really gave two cents about the real problems facing this country. Too many to list, but suffice it to say that we need to inside instead of out in order to heal the gut wrenching wounds in this Republic. I’m convinced that it will be status quo no matter who gets elected… all those branches to bring together is a nearly impossible task.

Dr. Klein needs to find another place to vent…. his son getting into law school, and having the means to pay for it, tells the real story of discrimination. Still a man’s world, especially where I work, in restaurant kitchens. I’ve been contacted for interviews, and then they find out I am female, and older, and the interview lasts all of three minutes.

Wow, now this the kind of place I wish I would have worked while cooking in restaurants. I will use this same connected-ness when I start my school for at-risk kids next year. Everyone taking a part in making the food….. great idea…..

Buy things new instead of used….. I am trying to be better, but on the upside, I compost, recycle everything I can, ride my bicycle or take the bus instead of owning a car, grow some of my own food, and I have only purchased one box of ziplock bags in the last year because I wash them and hang them to dry and use them again. I use canvas bags for shopping, and take a bike trailer to do laundry and get groceries. I am fifty-two so you can’t say “I am too old for that” as an excuse… I cancelled all my magazine subscriptions and don’t buy new books. USE THE LIBRARY! If you use too much, you can buy carbon offset credits.

I wish men were banned from posting here…. Why do they always have to be in the middle of everything…. China is, on so many levels, just like the united states of amerika. They are in their industrial age, and the US has moved on to something different. I, like several others here, am more concerned with the amount of money the Chinese invest in amerika and it’s debt. I won’t go to China because of the repression and because of Tibet. I try to buy US made goods whenever possible. In as much as there has been change, China is still the same. Even if you don’t see Little Red Books, or people in those dreadful uniforms, repression is alive and well. When it comes to China, the skin of the orange might make taking a taste seem like a good thing, but the fruit of the flesh is still bitter.
