Hillary Clinton Exhausted and in Mourning

Chateau - Don’t worry. Tone deaf as ever, Bob Johnson is the ambassador who has been on-point to make the case for VP to Senator Obama - on behalf of Hillary Clinton! Must be another Bill Clinton idea — sabotaging his wife. Could there be a worse representative???

Bob Johnson, former head of BET and performance artist during the South Carolina Democratic Primary — has NO CREDIBILITY to solicit support for a Hillary Clinton VP consideration. Whoever is advising Hillary really needs to STOP. Bob Johnson is the worst choice to make this case — to the Obamas. Dah??? More tone deafness. Pick anyone else because Bob Johnson is no longer relevant in any worthwhile context. For those who don’t remember SC — go to YouTube and remind yourselves, then ask yourselves WHY Hillary would put him forward as her ambassador for this discussion? Incredible! How can one feel empathy for someone who brings out the greatest hits of their own demise — and one of the progenitors of that demise in SC??? Clinton Inc. still doesn’t GET it.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080604/pl_nm/usa_politics_clinton_abc_dc Hillary Clinton to End Candidacy Friday - ABCNews ============================================================ E pluribus unum is a motto found on the Great Seal of the United States, along with Annuit Coeptis and Novus Ordo Seclorum, and adopted by an Act of Congress in 1782. “E Pluribus Unum” is Latin for “Out of Many, One.” Never codified by law, it was considered a de facto motto of the United States until 1956 when the United States Congress passed an act (H.J. Resolution 396), adopting In God We Trust as the official motto.[

E.B.— You are correct and women should consider this through the prism of George W. — another narcissist who willfully refuses to see the world through any other prism than his own — and surrounds himself w/sychophants who write tell-all books after the fact, profitably (for them, anyway). Last night’s speech was similar to the Nixon “Checkers’ speech — albiet, w/out the pup…and there’s too much at stake for Americans to fall for games. “Where do we go from here…?” So much for swearing up and down about anything. You can’t rely on it. The math was prohibitive for HRC for weeks. Preparation should have begun, culminating with a concession speech last night — and return to work for New Yorkers who will be asked to repay her debt — no doubt, should have begun.

Hillary Isn't Going Anywhere Until She Gets What She Wants, by Monica Crowley

Even the worthy opposition can offer substantive opinions. Monica and Peggy (Noonan) have more experience evaluating and competing with — the Clintons. Circa Spring 2008, the Clintons are something Liberals and Conservatives can agree on. Now, that’s progress. Rather than allowing HRC to constantly point to or dangling the rattle of the Conservative boogey-man in the room - to deflect attention away from focusing on — and accountability for things going on in the Clinton White House - we bought the propaganda hook, line and sinker. We should be big enough to openly state — they told us so. That doesn’t deflect from Republican abuses, but validates the Bush/Clinton dynasties were/are two sides of one coin…and Monica KNOWS who they are. She had to. It’s her job to know. We were in DENIAL, because it was convenient to be. Now it is not. All good things come to an end, Hillary.

Joan - They CAN’T. And that in itself disqualifies HRC from the Presidency or Vice Presidency. It’s THEIR way or no way. Jeffrey Toobin is correct.

Caroline - We ARE divided. She is holding her constituency separate from the Party and its new leader/Nominee. We GET it. We don’t have to accept this and a) must make the case this is unacceptable and jeopardizing the Party and pols who supported her at great RISK, b) unacceptable conduct for a sitting Senator from New York — and its Delegation who cannot/will not endorse Senator Obama until she does — and putting themselves at great RISK. Divisiveness IS the Clintons and NY pols who sponsored her are paying the price…and so are her supporters, though they are in denial about this pertinent fact.

Ms. Crowley was on-point. Like Peggy Noonan — they have years evaluating the Clintons through the prism of competition. They had no choice but to see the Clintons clearly. Democrats have been too forgiving of the Clintons DRAMAS - and triangulated whereby they pointed to Republicans/Conservatives/Vast Right Winged Conspiracy as the boogey-man — and successfully deflected attention from their own inadequecies. Sweet. All good things come to an end.

How do you feel about Hillary Clinton's announcement last night?

Anne: I think this is the perfect match. Joe Lieberman can become their Secretary of State. Things and interests are very fluid. Apparently, HRC doesn’t respect the Party, her New York constituency, is willing to throw the NY Democratic politicians/delegation under the bus — and old alliance simply don’t apply. WoW hasn’t yet posted a Q&A or acknowledged the HISTORIC WIN — from a cultural, political, news perspective — while they are doing so even in Sri Lanka. Some women have no problem w/HRC’s Campaign or how she managed it — and view her loss through the VICTIM prism. She bears no responsibility. Very interesting times.

How do you feel about Hillary Clinton's announcement last night?

G Powers: Precisely — and, dangerously, she STILL has supporters who don’t view this as strange or unacceptable at all. This year we don’t need/want nuance. We need clear lines of demarcation between the past and future. Bush/Cheney totally misled Americans — but people “liked” them, whatever that means. Americans and Iraquis have died needlessly for that media-empowered mistake. Not this time.

Hillary Rosen today on Huffpo — I am Not a Bargaining Chip. I am a Democrat. Welcome aboard, Hillary! Now — we have just enough time to pivot and get to work dealing with the Republican swift-boaters on deck!

French Hart — Mr. Toobin is correct. Dangerous. Fortunately, the Internet allows those who do not meet the high standards Mr. Toobin represents — to have our say — w/out submitting to subjective critera! Thank you Vint Cerf!
