Lesley Stahl, Cynthia McFadden: Sexism Went Unchallenged During Hillary Campaign

Sadly, over a Summer when Democrats should have unified and prepared for our Convention — women such as Hillary Rosen and others, who REFUSE to be leveraged as HRC’s personal currency for undisclosed agenda(s) — or her attempt to take her VICTIM NARRATIVE to the Convention — will have to speak up and CHALLENGE her right to make these kinds of assumptions and trade with the interests of ALL women as her personal property. This isn’t feminism and nobody knows this better than HRC and her peers on the elite tier. Modern women, in the trenches of everyday life - where they don’t make hundreds of millions of dollars in 7 years and are struggling to survive — can’t AFFORD this mythmaking packaging of our interests for HRC’s personal interests.

Women should hold other women to the same standards they would hold anyone else Proffering MYTHOLOGY doen’t help the cause of gender bias — and, consequently feeds it. The VICTIM narrative is unworthy of women who struggle every day, across the broad spectrum of American life — to be taken seriously and maintain high standards in their performance. So, I submit the following: 1. Gerry Ferraro’s spouse had (undisclosed during the vetting process/withheld?) business dealings that compromised the Democratic ticket. Gerry is NO VICTIM. 2. HRC ran a totally FLAWED Campaign based upon a FLAWED premise - spending more than $100mil before she realized the need to change the top management SHE selected. Further, the VICTIM narrative plays into its sister narrative — ENTITLEMENT. We already have a dynastic self-entitled President. His name is George W. Bush. Americans will not buy into another. 3. Refusing to honor the rules of engagement, rules of the Party and — refusing to CONCEDE — based upon the VICTIM narrative — has left her open to RIDICULE. As with stage-struck parents or soccor-dads who cannot/will not ACCEPT defeat — this posture becomes a farce and deserves RIDICULE, which has nothing to do w/her gender but a petulance and lack of maturity in defeat.

Doc’s girl - HRC has made her post-Feb. Campaign a “pissing contest” - and in refusing to concede creating an Independent Campaign with what she perceives as HER PERSONAL CURRENCY — “18 mil” voters. She includes ALL women in this mish-mash, though she hasn’t ASKED the permission of ALL women (Right and Left) if we have chosen her, her undisclosed agenda(s), etc. SHE WILL DECIDE and then, if we are lucky, she will tell us what she has decided. Interesting. The VICTIM narrative is a drug and has, like any other illegal substance, DEALERS. It held back both the African-American and Feminist movements by the very narrow and profitable interests of a few elites who simultaneously complained and profited by this toxic narrative. Nobody knows better than the WoWers in MEDIA that the media itself could have been an effective post-70s tool to reframe a forward-looking Feminist Movement — but that would require RISK and WORK. Instead, a few elite women have only focused on the subject which is the basis of this Q&A — when it affects them personally or one of their other friends on their elite tier. HRC is a hallmark of this standard. She doesn’t feel she needs to make a speech about GENDER discrimination (for all American women, in all walks of life) because SHE — represents us all. SHE is all women. Her success IS our success. Her setbacks are OUR setbacks. HER aspirations should be ours. The Feminist Movement was — FOR HER — and all women should be waiting for HER to tell us what SHE plans to do next. WE are her personal currency. The idea that she should/could expand the gender bias narrative and address it across the broad spectrum of American life — at every economic strata — doesn’t even make sense to her. Focusing on her own experience is enough. And, so it is with elite women who have been and are in a position to do much more than complain — but, haven’t as long as their personal situation is secure. Relevance and meaning in the future will require more than this standard — in POLITICS, MEDIA, HEALTHCARE, ENTERTAINMENT. The Internet is an ecosystem. There is no place for or to pivot from an elite tier of the few. Things are finally getting very interesting as we watch the elites grapple with the real new world order. HRC’s Campaign is the perfect example of what’s in store across MANY things in this new zeitgeist. The Internet is WE…not SHE…or ME. Our elite tier can’t even speak the language of WE. WE haven’t been on their radar for thirty years.

HRC is going to the Convention and enrolling women to join her. Do not listen to a word she says. Consequently, if she wants to go w/a scorched earth strategy - then Barack’s supporters need to make their presence felt. Barack is gracious. We don’t have to be. Enough with HRC’s supporters feelings. Now — we will take the ground game to new levels and give Hillary a scorched New York City - Summer 2008! She knew better than to take her bunker act to NYU — down here — or Columbia University, in Harlem! Further, they have auditoriums where the students CAN use cell phones and the Internet — outside of HRC’s bunker. Rather than more whining - HRC supporters on this site should KNOW what the consequences are for her conduct. Asking a question — as posed — is too simplistic for what’s at stake in this Election. The Clintons no longer head the Democratic Party. Who CARES what Hillary wants??? We should challenge this conduct which is making a mockery of women running for high, public Office. Instead, the world is laughing at American women who are propping this GAME up. So, bring it on! And, if the whiners think this is going to be BAD, wait until we take on the Republicans this Fall — because the Democratic Candidate will not be slimed while we whine and tear our shirts — watching from the sidelines — this year. I have no doubt Republicans (posting as HRC supporters) don’t like my posts. They are a harbinger for what’s to come — from the Left — circa 2008. War isn’t pretty either.

HRC will not be the Nominee or VP candidate. She is, however, a sitting Senator from the State of New York — and, her conduct is totally unacceptable. She is dividing the Democratic Party and manipulatively calling our justifiable anger - “hate-speak” - is more of the same. I hope Barack Obama calls her bluff and believe his uber-graciousness is the proforma for doing just that. Even Republicans are getting TIRED and ready to begin the General Election. HRC is taking attention away from John McCain, as well — so, it’s so funny any longer to Conservatives whose message is getting totally lost and gaining no traction. Everyone is behing held hostage by Hillary and Bill Clinton. The Nation is being held hostage by Hillary and Bill Clinton. The Democratic Party will come out tomorrow and deal. New Yorkers who do not accept this kind of conduct from a sitting United States Senator representing our interests — should deal. I read HRC’s speech. Now, that’s toxic — after the Nominee has won and a slap at his supporters. I say, no more kid gloves — allowing HRC (and Bill, of course) to “play” everyone. Call her bluff and let’s see if she can muster more than a few college students for pizza in a BUNKER in Manhattan — and raise enough to pay her bills to keep this thing going. The DNC and Barack supporters should not have to pay this tab — and should REVOLT if the request is made. Let the Clintons pay their own bills for this total vanity play.

The BUNKER is at Baruch. There HRC and her supporters can stop people from using the Internet, cell phones, etc. Four flights down at the Baruch Recreation Room is where CONTROL can be enforced. Not on the Internet!

http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/04/the-long-goodbye/index.h… The Long Goodbye …Maybe it was her night after all: Hillary Clinton decided not to withdraw from the presidential campaign tonight, and the liberals in blogville are not happy about it, to put it mildly. Matthew Yglesias of The Atlantic begins his blog post on Clinton’s speech by writing, “I probably shouldn’t write any more about this woman and her staff. Suffice it to say that I’ve found her behavior over the past couple of months to be utterly unconscionable and this speech is no different.” He continues, ” I think if I were to try to express how I really feel about the people who’ve been enabling her behavior, I’d say something deeply unwise. Suffice it to say, that for quite a while now all of John McCain’s most effective allies have been on Hillary Clinton’s payroll.” …

Barack Obama became the head of the Democratic Party and won the popular vote according to MSNBC’s Chuck Todd - about Midnight. The Clintons don’t accept this FACT, her speech is STILL making her case and continuing to triangulate (w/McCain’s speech tonight) Barack Obama — during HIS night. She has no respect for the Party, the process, the rules or Barack Obama’s win — and most especially his supporters who took him from a running start with nothing to WIN. The “Super Delegates” setup has failed. The Democratic Party has failed. By losing, the Clintons win and maintain CONTROL over the Party and all Democrats. The Baruch kids in the BUNKER during her self-serving speech — know what this feels like. No cell phones. No TV monitors. NO KNOWLEDGE Barack had won. We are ALL in Bill and Hillary’s world until we do something about it. Get used to it.

Christina - David Paterson isn’t going anywhere - and, if he does, it will be Mayor Mike Bloomberg or someone who knows how to concede when they lose, with grace. Both David and Mike have GRACE. Democrat and Independent.

Frank - and, he WON the POPULAR VOTE by HRC’s own calculations according to Chuck Todd -a little past Midnight ET. I keep posting the FACTS because HRC will keep tell her supporters untruths to justify her refusal to concede — triangulating Barack the night he won the Nomination — with John McCain. She is asking for money, locally - and continuing her Campaign. If this were a man, women would be either laughing or crying. Equality means no accomodation for sex or race. The ONLY standard should be quality and execution. Barack passes that test based upon how he MANAGED his Campaign, pays his bills and motivates millions of NEW voters. HRC and McCain did not/do not pass this test.
