At a Table in So-Called Liberal NYC, Woman Announces: I’ll Never Vote for a Black Man for President

I am 67, white, live in Oregon, and I have voted for Obama. Race ‘should’ not be an issue. Certain people who are so quick to label their opposition do not deserve space on this wonderful new website.

If you could live inside a movie, which would it be?

How about “Ship of Fools” which came out in 1965. Great actors and characters in that movie.

What is your definition of retirement?

Retirement means getting away from deadlines imposed on me by someone else. Now I wake up with a smile and set my own deadlines. Retirement also means having time for community service that take a lot of energy and effort. I was a CASA for 4 1/2 years and spoke up on children’s behalf and made sure that the two children under my watch were kept out of harms way. Mission accomplished

Case Closed: 'Boston Legal' and the Truly Supreme Supremes

Everything about BOSTON LEGAL is superb. Great writing, wonderful acting, with some stuff ‘naughty’ and very funny. Can’t wait to see the next episode.. I am thanking everyone involved in this show.

How do you feel time alters your ability to be resilient in your life?

Hi J B, I like your attitude. It’s the only way to go. My 50th birthday was fantastic, even walked my first marathon. Spoil yourself silly, because that’s the only way to go. I start out each day by having breakfast in bed, then I go to the gym and work out, then I do my chores, and then I spoil myself again by having my daughter over for dinner, or playing golf, hiking, playing golf with wonderful kids who are doing the Special Olympics.

Whoopi: Why Isn't Anyone Screaming About Taxes?

Hi All, I don’t mind paying taxes, because nothing comes for free, and I’m ‘small fry’. What I object to is the fact that people have to have several jobs to make ends meet, and they have no insurance coverage, especially the children. I find it inexcusable that the richest country on earth cannot insure people. It also bothers me that young people graduate from college and start out their lives being so much in debt. It’s not right. I hope Obama will do something about this….

'wOw Friend' Judith H. Dobrzynski: 'A Moment So Sublime That My Eyes Start to Water'

Congratulations on getting the award, Diana… I also read “The Rest is Noise” and consider it to be a masterpiece………

'wOw Friend' Judith H. Dobrzynski: 'A Moment So Sublime That My Eyes Start to Water'

You probably have been to the three Mozart museums in Salzburg? Spent a week there three years ago. What a treat. Also lucked out and was able to buy a ticket for a performance at the Festival House where a Russian pianist played the “Goldberg Variations” without interruption. Again, a gift from heaven…….moved me to tears……

'wOw Friend' Judith H. Dobrzynski: 'A Moment So Sublime That My Eyes Start to Water'

When I watched Vladimir Horowitz play “Kinderlieder” in Moscow, the camera showed grown men with tears running down their faces. It was a divine moment, and I shall always remember this particular performance that was taped by Charles Kuralt at the time for CBS.

How do you feel about being left alone for a few days? What do you do with the time?

I, too, was lonely when married. But after I divorced him, no more loneliness for me. I love the balance in my life between keeping busy and enjoying friends and all the good stuff available to us like music, literature, the outdoors. I also joined a senior ski club and a hiking club. Life is good.

Have you ever experienced sex discrimination? If so, what did you do about it?

My boss wanted me to come to the office on Sunday which was not a regular working day for this company. I sensed what he wanted from me and said that I would not come in. He fired me. I collected unemployment and enjoyed every minute of being home with my small child. I am retired now but was so used to being descriminated against. First in the old country because I was a woman only, and after I came to the U.S., and I spoke English, people assumed that if you had an accent that you were stupid. It made me stronger. For every job I ever held, they needed two people to replace me. I encouraged my daughter to get as much education as possible so she can hold her own. She did.

wOw's Views on the News: Rupert Murdoch Bids $580M for Newsday

It’s a disgrace that the Wallstreet Journal was sold. I thought that this paper was a national institution and one of a kind. I loved reading the Friday edition. I stopped reading it. It’s not the same any longer. I feel bad about the first class folks who lost their jobs.

Forty years ago, students shut down Columbia University protesting the Vietnam War. Have you ever marched in a protest?

Well, in our case, the community responded immediately, and within days thousands marched in support of the neighborhood.

Joan Cooney: Senators Clinton and Obama Have Made Each Other Unelectable

This white, retired senior will definitely vote for Obama.. His level of education, intelligence and community service are outstanding. Why would he not measure up?
