As we approach Sesame Street's 40th birthday, tell us: What is your favorite memory of Sesame Street?

Darnit… i was confusing it with Electric Company. Sorry Joan! We only had a tv sporadically when i was little so i have few memories of TV. But man o man I loved the reading guy. And i THOUGHT it was Morgan Freeman! I guess if Reading guy is Electric Company then Big Bird is definitely my favorite Sesame Street Character.

oops… not Samual Jackson. Morgan Freeman! Every time I look at Morgan Freeman I think of the reading guy on Sesame Street…

Are you kidding??? i’m 46 years old so Sesame Street was a HUGE part of my childhood! And you all know that back then we didn’t have non stop cable shows and cartoons. So I would anticipate getting to watch it. It was an event. My favorite part of the show was the reading guy. I can’t remember his name anymore. He was a black guy and for some reason I can never see Samual Jackson without thinking about him. I can hear his voice and see the letters he would throw out…

Are you photogenic?

not at all. for one thing i’m short and muscular. which on film just translates to ROUND lol. I’m white and my underlying skin tone is a pink or red so i end up just looking pasty. Nope… not photogenic at all. But life’s to short to care!

What's Inside Your Emotional Closet? by Michele Neff Hernandez

Hi Frannie!

My friend just turned 70 this year and she has a good thing going. She doesn’t want anything heavy or serious. They see each other on average a couple times a month. They have a GREAT time together. He’s 54 and HOT lol! She’s done a great job over the last few years of figuring out how to have romance and sex and all of that without feeling like she’s betraying her husband of 49 years. I mean FORTY NINE YEARS. And they had an excellent marriage. Hard times yes. But incredible compatibility.

Liz Smith: Mega Media Moguls, Empresses and More

I love a biography! And need a new book… will go get these before i have to hop on a plane tomorrow. On another note.. i’m reading a book you did NOT recommend lol. I read it in small snippets when i need help going to sleep. it’s Christopher Ciccione’s book about his sister Madonna. It actually cracks me up sometimes. There was just one part where in less than two pages he manages to complain sooo obviously about how when he traveled with Madonna as her dresser he had to stay in a normal hotel room like everyone else instead of a suite! HILARIOUS. I’m thinking "does this guy really think that he doesn’t come across as entitled, spoiled and bitter??". His sister might be spoiled but she earned it herself!

I met one of my best friends five years ago at a meeting for women motorcycle riders. We were standing out by our bikes chatting when she said that she’d lost her husband to cancer two years earlier. I’m not sure how i responded but whatever it was she hugged me and said thank you and mentioned that most people thought she should be "over it" by now. She’d been with her husbadn 49 years. They had a passionate and she’d never wished for another one. On a different day when we were stopped on our motorcycles at a little biker bar eating a burger I asked her what she thought about dating again and she said that she didn’t really think about it but boy would she like to get laid. I knew we’d be friends then. Another year or so went by and we were out with a group dancing one night. She went home with a single friend of ours in his fifties (robbing the cradle she said). A good looking guy who shared a lot of interests with her. I watched for another year while she kept her new boyfriend secret from her grown kids and her old friends afraid they’d believe she was betraying thier dad, their friend and the love of her love. My take was "screw them". She’d loved till the end and lost at death do us part and if her boy toy made her happy they could just deal. She took my advice. No one felt betrayed. And her boy toy enjoys the stories of her husband and their life together. And i’m soooo happy for her.

Legalize It, by Allegra Huston

I spent 20 years working in criminal justice. I’ve taught at corrections academy’s, worked on crime legislation, and reviewed more research than most people would ever care to. I’ve read a lot of your posts on this board and don’t imagine you can actually have your mind changed so i won’t try. But frankly.. you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Legalize It, by Allegra Huston

we’ve had this discussion on this board a couple of times. I just can’t get over that we haven’t legalized pot and prostitution yet. it’s just ludicrous. especially at a time when our country needs the revenue. stupidity.

The wOw Interview: An Insider's Look at Cosmetic Surgery, With Dr. Haideh Hirmand

How do you know for sure if someone has all those board certifications and is ACTUALLY a member of those associations? It appears to me that they all say they are in their advertising. Will the boards and associations just tell you? or is there a website? I had to have a hysterectomy this year and wanted my doc to be board certified in her speciality and couldn’t find her listed but was told that she was by the clinic she worked in?

Estrogen in the Air, by Barbara Guggenheim

Damn…. i wanted to go to this conference and got sidetracked this year! i am soooo going next year! no matter what…I want to buy a table. I think i saw you could do that.

Liz Smith: Jerry Hall – Mrs. Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss!

I’d never paid much attention to Jerry Hall. I always thought that the woman who stayed with Mick Jagger all those years had to be… well… rather vacant. This woman is certainly not vacant. She sounds way to smart and interesting to have stuck with that man all those years and put up with his crap.

David Letterman vs. John Edwards: When someone comes clean about their wrongdoing, are you more willing to forgive them?

Depends on if they are actually coming clean because at heart they are people with integrity or if they are coming clean because at heart they are slimballs (read John Edwards) and are trying to cover their asses.

Savvy Small Business Owners: Do You Know What's Tax Deductible?

tax receipt box… ummm sure… ya.. i got one of those :) in about ten minutes i will lol

Dancing With the Dead: Mr. wOw Is Not Rushing to Michael's Last Moonwalk

I always find it so strange when people have such strong feelings about a performer. someone they never really knew. I can understand Liz Taylor… she knew him and loved him. But for the general public.. the guy was a performer. an artist, a musician. We knew his music and his public persona.

Mr. Wow… do you have any insight into the plastic surgery thing with the jacksons? Michael isn’t the only one that is over the top in that family. It’ fascinates me… what he did to himself. And it fascinates me that the entire family has done at least some of it. What is that about?
