How to Drive Whoopi Goldberg Crazy

What drives me crazy is when I say “thank you” and the response is “no problem”. What happened to “you’re welcome”????? I can’t get my brain around “no problem” in response to “thank you” - it just doesn’t make sense to me. Am I missing something?

Who won Thursday night's debate?

I thought Joe Biden did an excellent job and his knowledge and experience was obvious throughout the debate. Sarah Palin did a great job of not answering questions. As a female judging her, I’m glad she was more prepared but I wish she wasn’t McCain’s choice for a running mate. I think that choosing her has been a setback for women despite what Hillary Clinton accomplished.

Mother Earth Care-toons: The Campaign Trail

Wow…what a sad visual…they don’t have a chance…however, we do and I know where my vote is going!!!

I couldn’t find the play button either so you’re not alone

Whoopi Goldberg: Sarah Palin 'Is a Very Dangerous Woman'

I wish we could start this election season over and come up with different alternatives than what we’re currently faced with. I supported Hillary 100% but I’m not one of those Hillary supporters that plan on voting for McCain…especially after listening to Sarah Palin. She scared me. I’m not going to do any name calling because I think that’s counterproductive, but I do think she’s scary. I’ll be honest and say that I couldn’t listen to her for very long but it was long enough to know that my decision to vote for Obama/Biden is better than voting for McCain/Palin…which leads me back to what I said at the beginning…I wish we could start this election season over and come up with different alternatives.

Announcing wOw's Book Party!

I just started listening to books in my car too because I got tired of someone else deciding what I was listening to on my car radio!!!

Announcing wOw's Book Party!

Reading is my favorite sport and hobby. In fact, I don’t leave home without one…a book that is. I lean towards female authors and have a long list of favorites. This is wonderfull!!!

Ann Coulter's Birthday Wish for Bush (and a Michael-Moore-Free Definition of Patriotism)

I posted this somewhere else on the site by mistake so I’ll try and get it “right” here. I think those of you threatening to leave the website because of Ann Coulter are giving her too much control. It’s like shooting yourself in the foot. I, for one, really enjoy the comments from everyone and I think it would be a loss to all of us if you left. This isn’t verbatim what I wrote but it gets my point across. Oh, when I watch TV, as soon as GW opens his mouth, I hit the “mute” button. You can do something similar on the website by not reading her words!!!

wOw's Comments of the Week 6/28 - 7/3

I think those of you talking about leaving this website because of Ann Coulter are giving her an awful lot of control and I’m wondering if you really want to do that. That’s like shooting yourself in the foot. If you comment here on the website you’re able to let all kinds of us know how you feel about her and her comments. If you left, none of that would happen. So, please don’t give her that kind of control over you. I, for one, really enjoy the comments!! Frank…I’m not too far from you up in the Bellevue area. I lived on McChord many, many years ago when I was a kid.

Fallen Patriots: A wowOwow Salute to 110 Fallen Female Soldiers

I spent some time with my son after he returned from Iraq (we lived in different states). He showed me a video that was prepared for one of the first women killed in this war that he had served with at Camp Bucca in Iraq. I just sobbed while watching it and I can’t look at these pictures. I don’t want anyone else killed in this horrible war…woman or man. My thanks to you wowowow for this tribute.

Lie About Your Age, by Dr. Judith Sills

Today is my 60th birthday and I’m glad I’ve made it this far. I don’t have a problem sharing my age and if it bothers someone, then it’s their problem. I hope that I get to 90, like my father. Think about what he’s lived through in those 90 years…Pearl Harbor…just to name one. He’s a walking history book, a creaky history book, but still, a history book.

Women in Combat: Breaking the Brass Ceiling

Talk about history being made - the first woman to have 4 stars (if the senate agrees). This has been an historic year for women and I hope that it continues. My congratulations to your accomplishment!! Thank you for your service.

I feel for the babies. What does an under 16 year old know about raising a child when she’s still so young herself?

Mad Dash for Michelle Obama’s Dress

What has happened to individuality? I don’t understand why women have to go find the exact same dress Michelle Obama wore. What is the big deal???
