Don’t you think you are stretching this a bit. Of course not every one will be guaranteed a job. But, there will be jobs for strong able-bodied Americans to build schools, repairs bridges and roads, install solar panels and windmills. Every state has some type of infrastructure project. Remember it’s a stimulus bill too to upstart the economy. But it is impossible to get every unemployed person working. That’s why this bill is written for long-term projects that will improve our infrastructure for years to come.

I was a laid-off teacher in the 70s and it was no picnic. Schools still need subs, so I sent resumes to many schools, but luckily I was always called by my school to sub. Then, my union offered courses in subjects that were in high need, and I got a job at another school for half a year teaching math. Today I doubt that would happen, but I would still sub. But, like you, if sub jobs weren’t available, I would have no problem finding something else. What’s good about these jobs is they will have a long-term effect on our infrastructure.

Look, when they saw the economy tanking, they didn’t take one step. Now that the Dems are taking steps, they are saying the economy is getting better. When thousands of people line up for these jobs and are once again able to pay rent and buy food, and maybe have a bit left over (after they pay off their past-due bills) to buy something from retailers, remember not to thank a Republican.

These countries are not about to change. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t go after those who came after us. The Taliban provided a haven for Al-Qaeda. The Taliban is now in Pakistan, and the Pakistani government is powerless mostly due to the Bush administration ignoring what was going on there for years (even after they promised Pakistan they would help). Obama will not put unrealistic goals in our path.

Of course pensions will have to be changed. Am I supposed to worry that businesses who discriminate might have more paperwork or owe back payments? If salaries for the same job were equal in the first place, these laws would not be necessary. With the extended time to file, employers will think twice before pulling this one again.

I just got my coupon in the mail. It was supposed to be mailed Jan. 9th and I got mine 2 days ago. I was lucky because I know I waited too long to apply, but I was considering either getting cable or buying a new flat screen. Decided to save my money and wait for prices to go down on the TVs. Instead of cable, I get Netflix. I have no desire to watch endless amounts of political talk shows and news. I wonder if the Nay votes were lobbied by the makers of digital TV manufacturers???

Good for her!!! Hopefully the fashion world will open it’s eyes and see that beauty and age can work together.

You have to wonder how many other women would accept that explanation rather than face the truth? The 2nd husband (still carrying his baggage) makes you realize why he may have been divorced by the first wife. I seem to recall Obama issuing a very strong warning to the terrorist in the inaugural address. I think he knows what needs to be done. As for as useless defense contracts, this has been going on forever. Maybe the economic crisis will be a blessing in disguise. Obama did select a Republican to head Defense. So he is listening.
