What is the most life-changing book you've ever read?

And while we’re on the subject of Michener…after I finished The Source…in my early 20’s…I swear, I nearly went out and got circumcised. Read Centennial, and within a year actually did head west.

I call Shakespeare the planet’s last Druid. He must have had a vision of a great goddess early in his life, and he never let her go. Beethoven wrote of having such an experience, in a letter to his sovereign, when he ws still a little boy. He called her his Divine Muse. I think Shakespeare called her the Dark Lady? Am I right? In the sonnets?

Hey, Suzanne. This is the second time you’ve mentioned “Goddesses in Everywoman” and I must agree, it was an unforgettable book. “The Tao of Physics” by Fritjof Capra was another wonderful experience for me. I was easily intimidated by a husband who had a college degree. And after reading and understanding that book, I was able to trust my thinking a whole lot better. I’m still working on that Batchelor’s. (shhh…they’ll bounce my right outta here if they find out.) But I’m pretty sturdy, and living close enough to my alma mater that I can walk to class. That’s a big step for me.

Wowowow! Maggie D! Another swell monologue! This would be wonderful read out loud by our resident gypsy. Can we do this? wowOwow! Pleeease! Give us audio link to people reading the poems written here? That’s worth honorable mention and more, Maggie. Thanks.

Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl. Happy Birthday, Candice! I’m not seeing any ballons, so I might have the wrong day. I’m celebrating, though. We’re all reading War and Peace at my party…til some knucklehead shows up with Twister!

Now, why are we not seeing some fabulous clip of our more than capable Candice Bergen?? Huh? Or a montage…it is her Birthday! Right? Happy birthday, Candice!

Would you rather have more time or more money?

Wait a minute. Doesn’t time “BAKE” the cake…especially on Candice Bergen’s birthday? Isn’t that today? Happy Birthday Candice!

It Happened Last Night: The Mystery of Playwright Caryl Churchill

Joan…this has been a relatively depressing day at wowOwow. But thanks for the head’s up on this piece. Caryl Churchill…good to know.

wOw's Views on the News: Will Pinocchio Be the Next U.S. President?

Thanks, Bean. Fabulous piece! Wonderful satire.

Yeah. They need to draw a line somewhere. I can’t believe a military installation anywhere wouldn’t be considered American soil…legally. But somebody should clear that up. There may be a great President emerging from some military family as we speak.

I mean, RIGHT or left. (I was eating.) I wanted to let everybody know that my son is home safe from Baghdad…far as I could tell from our telephone conversation. It was an interesting conversation. He was telling me how beautiful his wife and children seemed. to him. And I could relate. They were on prolonged visits with their fathers between school terms. And it was always so wonderful to see them come home each fall. Anyway, I think it made him feel good to think I could relate to his present experience on any level. We had a good talk. His third daughter is due in August. I hope I’m okay with you people. I’m havin’ a great time on wowowow.
