What is the most important lesson in leadership you have ever learned? What were the circumstances?

If you give a subordinate responsibility for a task, give them the authority to do all it takes to get the task successfully accomplished. If they are unsuccessful, take the blame on yourself (from higher-ups), get the task accomplished, and help educate that subordinate so they don’t have a repeat failure. Repeat with another completely different task.

One merely needs to accompany one’s family member to their death from cancer to realize that there is no god. I have now lived two years longer than my sister who was born twenty months before me. She died of pancreatic cancer. It was ugly. No god would treat those he made in his image like that!

Belief in a superior being began as an ignorant primitive answer to the fearful contemplation of what happens after death occurs.

Homework: Imagine a primitive human losing his/her life companion. Better yet, observe a wild female elephant’s actions when her calf dies - I’m sure you can find a video on youtube - if she had the ability to imagine superior beings, I’m sure she’d be preying at that time. Early hominids did the same.

Hi. Yes, there and also in a little-used side-channel cave about half-way through the entire cave… adults really had to bend over to get through there ;-)

We didn’t move from Anaheim to SF Bay Area until my senior year, so I was at Disneyland at least 5-times a year. But there were other things to do, like the roller rink next to the Santa Ana Freeway (Hwy 5, now) in Garden Grove, Carona Del Mar for body surfing, Knotts Berry Farm, Holy Jim’s Canyon… wow!
