Acid-Doused Iranian Woman Wins 'Eye for an Eye' (Video)

re: Men and women being killed daily throughout the U.S. in capital punishment…

THIS  is precisely the excuse the US used to get into Iraq and justify killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqis in the name of justice because Saddam Hussein was guilty of mass capital punishment—-almost to the point of being for "sport" when you consider they used sports arenas to kill them.

And the crimes were things like adultery, women studying, etc.

Yes Roger!  There are no coincidences!  Redfield’s book is stellar! (excuse the pun) Do you have others along that line that you like?  If not,  I can recommend more.

In case you are curious, this article outlines the 7 natural laws. I take exception to her calling them "magic keys." It makes ancient very basic laws seem trivialized.  But if you read through them, they make sense as natural laws.

It is interesting.  But what a weird system!  How can they sanction the punishment to be exactly the same as the crime?  It is soooo twisted isn’t it?  In other words,  the laws regarding acid-throwing would read: OK folks, Sharia approved acid throwing is now punishable by judicial system-approved (which is basically sharia law) acid throwing.  Hmm.

Belinda,  is that (avatar) you as a child or one of your babies?

Rog,  I KNEW I shouldn’t have left the house w/o reading it through before I hit send!  I should have said we STILL need STATE laws to protect us and deter crime.  But IMHO I believe that the natural laws of cause and effect that will come into play to balance out this man’s crime are what should really be feared by him.

Passivity does not beget violence.  This is just plain wrong.  Its interesting, but wrong.

The biblical reference to "eye for an eye" has been twisted around.  It means that this man’s judgement will be carried out via his karmic debt in "God’s" time.  Not man’s.  Who knows?  Maybe this woman did the same thing to him in a past life and this act was part of HER karma.  It is not for us to say, or decide what violence should occur to another human being.  It is however up to us to follow laws that protect us from such people- without perpetuating violence.

Octuplet Foreclosure: Will Obama's $75B Housing Bailout Save Their Home?

Good points Nanchan.  I like the way you thought that all the way through!

They are probably already an illegally-sized family for the number of bedrooms that are in that house.  I am not sure what the laws are about how many people can live in a house that size in that town.

What a tragedy that these 14 kids are going to grow up in such hard times and with a mother of questionable stability.  What makes it worse is that there is no father to provide additional support, financially or emotionally!

I read somewhere that someone offered to take them all out to their ranch and help raise them.  That would be interesting!

Clinton: 'I Had to Make a Hard Decision' to Accept Secretary of State Job

I think she will do a great job!  And as the wow staffer says: Far be it for us to speak for Clinton, but we don’t think she would be a voiceless messenger — for anyone.

Whoopi Goldberg on Bill O'Reilly (Video)

WowOwow.  We CAN spell check!  And Bold and Italicize and everything!  Cool.  These interviews were great.  Now THAT is how opposites should communicate.  Calm, collected, and respectful!  O’Reilly and Whoopi should do a show together!  Forget Elizabeth!

NPR Pushes Fox to Remove Juan Williams's NPR Cred (Video)

Uh.  You got that wrong Alex.  Nobody cares about you.  Buzz off, dude.  Get a life.  You got serious issues if you insist on hanging out with all the ladies all day long just trying to kick them all down. You are warped. dude.

Lesley Stahl Asks: Has Public Outrage on Excess Reached 'Tipping Point'?

DeBurca, I read through your posts with others about the trolls in here and I too find the negativity hard to take. I am often inspired by what I read on these threads by some of you. But lately I have been avoiding posting because of the trolls. Sometimes when I see them take shots at all those I have grown to admire and respect I just have to speak up and mirror the vitriol back at them to show what they look like, which I never feel good about. And in the end they don’t really get what I was trying to do anyway. What I find so offensive is that none of them have clear debating skills. For example, if someone says “You are insignificant,” like one of the trolls would say, it becomes a personal insult—which is in fact against the rules in a way. But if the troll says, IMHO “your idea is insignificant” they clearly are relating to the material presented and not taking pot shots at the individual. They clearly have no skills in relating appropriately and they intend to try to insult on a personal level. I find that behavior abhorrent and uncalled for. The behavior I see here reminds me of what Chopra said about Mumbai…it was in our local newspaper today, but here it is on Huff. The same principles in the recipe for creating extremists applies to the losing party I think too. Kind of like a mental illness born of loss of power, poverty, and hatred aimed at the perceived perpetrator. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/michelle-haimoff/deepak-chopra-on-mumbai-t…

Bravo gc. I love the “golden calf” reference, however slightly disturbing. I prefer it to the “golden parachute” reference the media uses!
