Belinda, I have not come to this site in quite a while, but in reading today I see that one thing has not changed. Not only have you always posted thoughtful and intelligent comments, but you are a most kind and dedicated person to have come up with the resume plan. Perhaps you flipped the channel too quickly Valerie. Hate is a very strong word. Could it just be that you are the hater? Rachel’s liberal bias is evident and that is what her program showcases, though she chats with each and all of every political persuation. Oh and did I mention that she does so politely. Personally, I prefer her style to that of the gas bag himself, Bill O’Reilly.

Yes, TWO NY Times articles (the other being in the Sunday Magazine) in one week. She is a brainiac with sensibilities and a nice manner to boot. Not the usual cable news talking head. A really likable person, in my opinion. Hope all the press brings in more viewers. I second the two thumbs up!

Liz, Great post. McCain is not your typical 72 yr. old. I wish him well, but I never want to see him in the oval office. Also, Ann Coulter is so much fun to listen to even if she is my bête noir.

Marjorie, The only attention worthy of Palin is the fact that she is a Post-Turtle. What is that you ask? Well, I’ll be glad to tell you. Pretend you are driving down a country road and see a fence post with a turtle balanced on top. That is a Post-Turtle. Still wondering? You know she didn’t get up there by herself, she doesn’t belong up there, she doesn’t know what to do while she is up there, and you just have to wonder what kind of dumb ass put her up there to begin with. We are waiting to hear more from Hillary and she can rally the troops and other fence sitters to get Sen. Obama elected.

Hasn’t Mr. Ayers been a law abiding citizen and active member of his community for a good many years now? I guess no one can escape the past when there is an election on the horizon. One wonders if Ms. Palin will reconsider and cooperate with her own impending investigation of her abuse of power.

Bonnie, I am familiar with the episode of the View that you are refering to. As a non-viewer you made a perfectly honest assumption in what you saw that day. As a viewer since day one, and yes I tape just in case I miss comments during the many cross-talking conversations, I saw what could only amount to a Shock and Awe moment - Barbara pressing Elisabeth. To my recollection, this has never occured (at least in that manner) before. Normally, after a shouting match between the co-hosts, during which Barbara refrains from commenting, she reaches over to Elisabeth, puts her arm around her and assures her that she is loved. It is a scene best viewed with a Bromo-Selzer (at least for my taste). What you may not have noticed is that when answering the question re: Palin’s qualifications, Elisabeth’s first response was to launch into an Obama attack. This is quite often the case. All she was asked to do was simply ANSWER THE QUESTION! It appears as if being outnumbered equates to being treated badly in your manner of thinking. Don’t run away Bonnie. Maybe your presence here will encourage other like-minded people to stay on and join your chorus. And perhaps another conservative person would even things out a bit more on The View. Intelligent opinions are always welcome and appreciated no matter what side of the political fence they fall. No one in the world is right all the time and diversity is a necessary to any good stimulating conversation. In the end, I love watching the View and admit that whenever a noteworthy event occurs, political or otherwise, one of my first thoughts is “I wonder what the ladies will say about that”. Bonnie, I fear that you are watching tabloid tv, which seeks to present the “big fights and upset teacarts” that make for headlines. The ladies themselves laugh about the depiction of them on these types of shows as completely innacurate. Even Elisabeth would say so. A ten second clip of an hour show does not represent a fair assesment of all that took place. I do not for one minute doubt that EH is smart. I question the manner in which she presents her views.

Oh Bonnie, it is so obvious that you are not a viewer. All that shouting. It seems to come from the “right” more often than not. As well as the pouting, tears and righteous indignation. If things are not fair enough, perhaps the producer should fill the seats in a more mature and equal manner.

There is plenty of bias out there in the news media eg: Fox News and MSNBC. You can take your choice depending upon your fancy, though the majority of straight news shows seem to try and keep it on an even keel. The View is just plain fun. Newsy topics dominate most of the time, but there is no taboo subject it seems, and things can get down and dirty often. Today there would seem to have been a moratorium on politics in favor of wet toilet seats. I far prefer the former.

Well Candice, I am the same age as you and we share the same symptoms. I say that null and voids freakishness and suggests a normal process occuring. I also rather enjoy having a larger platform to support the few extra pounds. Makes me feel just that much more secure. :))

I had the great good fortune of being introduced to Princess Grace at a reception following a poetry reading she did in Detroit years ago. The room in which the reception was held could only be accessed through a walkway that was under construction and one felt a hard hat would have been in order in some spots. Undaunted, she was social and polite to everyone there, when I can only imagine that she would have wanted to flee to her beautiful hotel room. I will never forget her beautiful porcelain skin. So lovely. And, Gulliver, please feel free to travel on!
