The post was deleted because of the “f” word. We understand the context in which it was written, but there’s no need to spell it out. I’m sorry, but with all the hatred and anger being used on this site, we are cracking down and deleting all comments which we feel are inappropriate. Sorry to have offended anyone, but things have gotten way out of control. Trust me, you are not the first one to have a comment deleted because of that.

Hi Everyone, As I told Marjorie, I worked at a credit card bank in a previous life. Here are some tips that I hope you will find helpful. 1. A merchant cannot set a minimum to use either a Visa or MC. It is against Visa and MC’s policies. I’m sure the merchant will give you a hard time and not take your card. As many of you know, Visa, MC, Amex, etc., all charge the merchant fees. Many merchants don’t accept Amex simply because their fee is too high. However, Visa and MC fees are much lower. If you call your issuing bank and report the merchant, they can lose their rights to accept Visa or MC. That is not in the best interest of the merchant, as it means lost business. 2. Sometimes when you charge, you will be given two sales slips. One directly from the store and the other from the credit card printer. You might have to sign the store slip, but you always have to sign the Visa or MC slip. If the store slip says no refunds, exchanges, etc., but your credit card slip doesn’t have that information on it, you can dispute the charge if you need to return or exchange. Store policies must be on all credit card slips that come from the little printer. Even if you signed the store slip, if it’s not on the credit card slip it doesn’t matter. Hi Marjorie, I would suggest calling Kohl’s and disputing that charge. Even though they prefer customers to revolve, if you’ve never been late with a payment, there is no reason for them to hit you with that fee. Tell them you’ll take your business elsewhere. In today’s economic climate, they would be fools to let you go for $25.00. I worked at a credit card bank, in a previous life.
