i have never given any thought about my first thought every morning!!

i’m boring, my first action is to look at the clock and then ask myself if i have enough time to meditate or do i just jump in the shower and go, in which case i pray in the shower.

i have a friend that sends me jokes because we both know how important it is to laugh. Years ago i read Women who run with the Wolves, and later i saw an article about the author in a magazine, she said that once at a family gathering the women were together, the men in their group, and they were telling stories, and it was the first time she heard laughter that came from within, like a belly laugh; the joke was that during one of the big wars, a general was passing through a small village in Africa, and the native women did not wear blouses or anything on top, well, they told the women that when the general was passing through they needed to cover themselves… as the general was driving through, the women were lined up on both sides of the road, they lifted their skirts to cover their breasts, and they did not have any undergarments!!!

just thinking about that made me laugh!!! i hope you did also!.

Ditto Mugsy!! … although i wish i could spend more time with my sons as little boys, they were so much fun!! i loved being a mommy.

i just want to say that as a woman what i find so wonderful about Barack Obama is that he absolutely TREASURES his wife… that is what i have observed. Sooooo nice to see.

If we don’t stop giving our time and attention to those people we don’t have much in common with, we are going to keep them around. It is time to flush the toilet!

Ron is absolutely right!!! if nothing else, the way we can help is by staying focused on the positive. I was thinking about the things we are cutting from our budgets, and it occurred to me that it is good to be prudent, but we ought to not have a sense of lack. The other thing i began, is i pray for Obama everyday, as often as i can. I know the power of prayer… i also pray constantly so i can became and stay a good person. just saying.

i’m letting my hair grow, i stopped manicures and pedicures, go to the farmers market on Sunday’s (much healthier,all organic),the cleaning lady has been “retired” cut down on going out to dinner, and downsized subscription to SF opera (only 3 this year and no orchestra tickets!!) stopped buying clothes since i don;t go anywhere it seems. Not complaining, i wish i could make it simpler still.

i have been single for 17 years. after my divorce i dated once, and discovered that parenting and dating did not mix well. I have grown so accustomed to being on my own, that sometimes even dating seems such an inconvenience. I tried once this online dating and found that one can be anything one chooses to be and the same goes for the other person; there is not much sense of reality with online dating. I hope to one day find in a serendipitous way someone with whom i can connect in a profound manner. There is no need, just a want, and not an urgent want. I trust that if God wanted someone for me, he will make it happen, otherwise i’m just as content.

I have dear friends who raised a handicapped child; the hours they poured into caring for this child and their other two children were immense. I wonder how Sara Palin is going to care for her newborn disabled child and be competent in all areas. If anyone has cared for someone they loved who is sick or permanently disabled, you know what i’m talking about. this is real,this is not about putting her down, I have a son who became disabled, and i must say, it is exhausting, not only physically but also emotionally. I’m a very strong woman, but i know my limitations. Charity begins at home.
