British Woman's Face 'Butchered' 3 Times After Horrific Plastic Surgeries

Many times people have work on their eyes, and it goes snaflooey. A friend nearly went blind in one eye. I guess the eyes are particularly difficult.

Trader Vic's, Horn & Hardart, Schrafft's … What now-extinct food establishment still tugs at your memory?

Oh my, Jane. You mentioned Scandia and I immediately salivated. I was in the animation business then and we went out every day for a grand 2 hr. lunch. Scandia was one of our favorites. What a menu!

OMG! Those chocolate sundaes at CC Browns after a movie at the Chinese. What a memory you brought up, Dancing.

Ohhh, yes indeed, Dee. I actually had an angora sweater. HOT as hell, but I wore it anyhow. … and the white Go-Go boots… mine had the toes cut out. Spiffy!

The Blessings – and Curse – of Costco, by Jean Chatzky

I’m with you, Elizabeth. I’ve been known to stand in the middle of an aisle, throw my head back and shout, "I HATE THIS STORE!"  This brings 3 or 4 red-suited types to find out who’s doing all the shouting.  On the other hand, the cancelling of things I’ve grown used to and love happens in my very favorite store, Trader Joe’s. That’s their only fault. Otherwise they’re absolutely perfect.

How generous are you with your own possessions when it comes to your family?

Chris, you’ve said exactly how I feel. I’ve had such negative time with kids and money over the years that I don’t even let them know when I come by a little cash. I just keep it to myself and take a friend to lunch.

In which decade of your life did you feel your prettiest?

I was running into that "… for your age." type of reaction, Laura. I began at 35 to say 40 and the looks, up and down, were saying, "She looks great for 40." When I reached 40 I had to say 45. It still worked. When I had to make 45 50, it was a little harder, but the reaction was even better. After 55 I tried to say, "Sixt…uh…kaff, kaff…snort." It just stuck half way out and I couldn’t spit it out. But it was a good game for a while.

The wOw Conversation: The Ins, Outs, Dos and Don’ts of Giving and Receiving … Money

My pocket has been drained by my kids in various ways over the past 10 years. I signed for a credit card for my son so he could buy a laptop he just HAD to have. He only paid the card now and then and I got all the calls from the company. This has been three years now, and his bill with the card is much more than the cost of the computer in the first place. I won’t go into the saga of my ex-son-in-law, the con man, whose total dishonesty is the reason I’m living in a two room apartment with my Great Dane.

I was always the one in the family who had a credit rating above 3, so I was the "patsy." (so to speak) Now I’ve been on the asking end of loans, and it’s very very hard to do, believe me.

How to Remain a Nobody, by Sybil Adelman Sage

Hahaha, Margo. I’ve had the same experience. The one and only time I went to the Oscars because one of my husband’s films was nominated, I dressed for hours, made up for days, changed shoes four times and got into the car at 3:30 on a hot L.A. afternoon (what a stupid time to look like this). Arriving in a Ford Fairlane and not a limo, we had to park about a block from the show and walk (in those silly heels…. eeek). When we arrived at the red carpet, people were cheering and hollering names from both sides. One lady leaned over the velvet rope and squinted at me. "It’s nobody." she said and turned away. Before I could come up with a stinging rejoinder, it was over. I was nobody and that was that. We moved on.

L.C., I’d be thrilled to have you. Let me know when you’re ready.

What Motivates You to Make a Change? by Jean Chatzky

Money has certainly motivated me to change. I ran out of it! When you work for yourself you have nobody but yourself to direct your life. So, I moved to a better place and began to think about doing what I know how to do.. teach. I found new friends to help me and am connecting with so many people on facebook that I haven’t heard from in years. It’s really interesting.

Liz Smith: Brits Survey Alaska's Sarah

Our family was so thrilled by watching the moon landing, we named our new dog after the affair. "Luna" was a German shorthair pointer and was our sweet house mate for many years. Also, during that time, we sponsored a little boy in Greece and received many letters from him. He had a goat that he named Luna after our dog. But when his grandfather died, they had to sell Luna to pay for the funeral. He went on to be an electrical engineer.

This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us smart women to share their life’s information. I’d like to say that anyone who wants to write stuff, I’m starting a new endeavor now too. I’m teaching people how to make their very own books … at home, online… to put their own words into. If you want to publish your thoughts, check out my website: http://www.MakeYourBookCourse.com    Book making isn’t hard - if you know how. I’ll help step-by-step all the way with pictures, drawings and diagrams. It’s fun and then you’re a (self) published author!

This is a new move for me… the last move was from my house to a small apartment with hardly any room for my Great Dane to turn around in. But we’re determined to make this new move work… with all your good thoughts.
